However, this assessment could be altered by obstructive airway diseases. The aim was to assess measurement of cough capacity by CPF in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), as well as correlations with pulmonary, respiratory muscle, and oropharyngeal function.</p></div><div><h3>Methods</h3><p>Patients with COPD, and with neuromuscular disease, were selected as well as healthy subjects who had undergone respiratory muscle strength measurement in a healthcare setting. From this population, respiratory function values and lung and oropharyngeal muscle function were analysed. A subgroup of COPD patients underwent a videofluoroscopic swallow study.</p></div><div><h3>Results</h3><p>Three hundred and seven subjects were included (59.3% COPD, 38.4% neuromuscular diseases, and 2.3% healthy). CPF was found to be statistically significantly decreased in the COPD group compared to both the healthy and neuromuscular disease groups. Of the COPD patients, 70% had a pathological decrease in CPF. There was only a direct correlation between CPF with the degree of bronchial obstruction and expiratory muscle strength. No alteration of inspiratory or oropharyngeal muscle function was found.</p></div><div><h3>Conclusions</h3><p>The use of CPF in COPD patients does not reflect cough capacity as it is influenced by the degree of bronchial obstruction. Surgical treatment can be preventive, reconstructive, or salvage, and failure rates of surgery are high and related to the severity of cerebral palsy. The aim of our work is to assess the incidence of hip migration in our series of adult patients with cerebral palsy, to determine the outcome of those who have undergone surgery, and to establish recurrence rates after the various surgical techniques.</p></div><div><h3>Material and methods</h3><p>We designed a retrospective observational study to determine the hip status of adult patients with cerebral palsy visiting the Unit between 2008 and 2021.</p></div><div><h3>Results</h3><p>The overall incidence of hip displacement was 75%, patients with more extensive disability (GMFCS IV and V) were more predisposed to dislocation, also more severe. Soft tissue surgery made up 49.5% of the operations performed with a failure rate of up to 82%. Because of those reasons, it has arisen the idea of implementing the tele-rehabilitation program as a treatment of these pathologies.</p><p>The search was done between the months of October and November 2020, with the aim of analyzing and updating the efficacy of the tele-rehabilitation in patients who have COPD, finding eight articles which met the inclusion criteria. The pulmonary tele-rehabilitation is able to improve the quality of life and physical state, and decreasing the number of hospitalizations and exacerbations. Furthermore, patients showed a great level of satisfaction and adherence to this treatment program. The pulmonary tele-rehabilitation can achieve similar results as of pulmonary rehabilitation. For this reason, people who have difficulties to go to their outpatients clinic or even in a lockdown can use it. It can cause severe loss of function.</p></div><div><h3>Material and methods</h3><p>In order to determine the incidence, type of spinal injury and functional impact, a descriptive and retrospective study was developed, analysing demographic data, functional scores (SCIM<!--> <!-->III) and neurological scores (ISCNSCI).</p></div><div><h3>Results</h3><p>Cases of SSEH were reviewed. Seventy-five percent were male, median age was 55<!--> <!-->years old. All of the spinal injuries were incomplete and were frequently in the lower cervical and thoracic regions. Fifty percent of bleedings occurred in the anterior spinal cord. After blood tests, a diagnosis of copper deficiency was made following zinc intoxication, secondary to the use of denture glue containing zinc. Treatment was started with copper and the dental glue was removed. Rehabilitation treatment was started with physiotherapy, hydrotherapy and occupational therapy. Functional improvement was achieved, going from an ASIA<!--> <!-->D level C4 to an ASIA<!--> <!-->D level C7 spinal cord injury. Copper levels should be studied in all non-compressive myelopathies of subacute onset if there is clear involvement of the posterior cords. Copper deficiency in analysis would establish the diagnosis. To this end, an online survey was developed and distributed among rehabilitation doctors in Spain, which obtained 253 responses. Of these, 65% stated that research activity in rehabilitation does take place in their work centre; the number of active projects in their centres as stated by them was: none in 35.7%; one in 17.7%, two in 23.3%, three in 8.4% and four or more in 14.9%. Among the main difficulties encountered, 89% highlight that there is no staff hired for research and 95% that in their centres part of the working day is not allocated to research. In terms of personal research activity, 56% reported that they were involved in research, with the most common role being that of principal investigator (58%). Early detection of dysphagia and aspiration risk can reduce morbidity, mortality and length of hospitalization.</p></div><div><h3>Objectives</h3><p>This study aims to identify association between dysphagia and acute cerebrovascular disease, and evaluate the prevalence and impact of pulmonary complications on readmissions and mortality.</p></div><div><h3>Material and methods</h3><p>Retrospective observational study based on 250 clinical records of patients with acute cerebrovascular disease: clinical history, neurological examination, imaging and Gugging Swallowing Screen in the first 48<!--> <!-->h. Patients were followed for 3 months via medical records to estimate 3-month mortality and readmissions.</p></div><div><h3>Results</h3><p>Out of 250 clinical records analyzed, 102 (40.8%) were evaluated for dysphagia. The prevalence of dysphagia was 32.4%. The risk was higher in older patients (<em>p</em> <!--><<!--> <!-->0.001), in severe stroke (<em>p</em> <!--><<!--> <!-->0.001) and in the hemorrhagic subtype (<em>p</em> <!-->=<!--> <!-->0.008). An association was found with dysarthria and aphasia (<em>p</em> <!-->=<!--> <!-->0.003; <em>p</em> <!-->=<!--> <!-->0.017). Respiratory tract infections occurred in 14.4% of all patients (GUSS group 11.8% versus no GUSS group 16.2%), and in 75% of those with severe dysphagia (<em>p</em> <!--><<!--> <!-->0.001). Mortality at 3 months was 24.2% in dysphagic patients, especially high in the severe dysphagia group (75%, <em>p</em> <!--><<!--> <!-->0.001).</p></div><div><h3>Conclusions</h3><p><span>The type of cerebrovascular disease, NIHSS and </span>GCS scores, age, dysarthria, and aphasia were significant associated factors to dysphagia. The prevalence of respiratory tract infections was higher in patients with no GUSS record, and no statistical significance was observed in related readmissions.
