Des l’âge de seize ans, elle expose au Salon d’Automne, et participe ensuite a de nombreux Salons et expositions a Paris, ou les critiques d’art ne lui menagent pas leurs eloges et vantent celle qui sait « faire chanter les couleurs ». Avant la Grande Guerre, elle organise son propre atelier dans la maison de campagne familiale a Seine-Port (Seine-et-Marne). Puis elle se specialise dans la creation d’ornements religieux et dirige l’atelier de broderie des Ateliers d’Art Sacre crees a Paris par son pere et Maurice Denis en 1919. En 1926, a la demande des Clarisses de Mazamet, elle se rend dans leur couvent pour les aider a l’elaboration d’un extraordinaire ornement destine au pape Pie XI, qui leur vaudra une gloire mondiale. Entre-temps, elle sollicite son integration dans le couvent ou elle est admise chaleureusement et incorporee a l’atelier de dessins et peintures dedie a la chasublerie. Le legs du fonds des archives monastiques a l’Association diocesaine d’Albi en 2015, a l’occasion du depart definitif de la communaute, a permis de decouvrir un autre pan de l’activite artistique des moniales franciscaines. Dynamises par des dessinatrices de talent formees aux Beaux-Arts comme la parisienne Therese Passard ou la biterroise Mireille Thomas, les ateliers monastiques de dessin et de peinture Saint Gabriel et Saint Raphael livrent, particulierement au cours de la premiere moitie du XXe siecle, des pieces variees aux sources d’inspiration multiples. Avec une approche plus collective des projets, elle s’appuie sur une cooperation nationale et regionale renforcee.
