Indications for cardiac ablation include atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, supraventricular tachycardia, and idiopathic ventricular tachycardia. While cardiac ablation is a valuable method for curing arrhythmia, the procedure carries significant risks. This study aimed to analyse the number of deaths attributed to percutaneous cardiac ablation catheters over the decade from 2011 to 2021, using data from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Manufacturer and User Facility Device Experience (MAUDE) database. Reported deaths attributed to percutaneous cardiac ablation catheters rose significantly in 2014. Since then, deaths attributed to percutaneous cardiac ablation catheters have remained relatively constant, with approximately 40 to 50 deaths reported yearly from 2014 to 2021. Importantly, reported deaths attributed to this class of devices are almost entirely driven by ablation devices manufactured by Biosense Webster, including the Thermocool® Smarttouch® catheter. Biosense Webster catheters accounted for 92% of reported deaths attributed to all percutaneous cardiac ablation catheters from 2011 to 2021. These results suggest a need for increased innovation, continuous improvement, and greater competition and choice within this class of devices. The study further characterized the causes of death attributable to percutaneous cardiac ablation catheters from 2011 to 2021. The data reveal that the most frequent causes of death are cardiac tamponade (25.5%), esophageal or atrio-esophageal fistula (22.5%), and cardiac arrest (16.0%). Other important causes of death following cardiac ablation include hypotension,","PeriodicalId":394576,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 8th World Congress on New Technologies","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115468398","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Caryophyllales order, included amaranth has betalain pigment instead of anthocyanin performs similar functions while both pigments are structurally different and never coexist in plants [2]. In this study, changes in betalain biosynthesis amount and photosynthetic electron transfer efficiency were analyzed to study the mechanism of betalain by desiccation under high-temperature. Amaranth Red and Green leaf morphs were cultivated in greenhouse. As for the treatment conditions, amaranth of the control group (appropriate watering) and the desiccation group (water deficit) were compared by water deficit and then re-watering when 12 th true leaves appeared. As result, the amount of betalain biosynthesis of Amaranth Red and Green increased during water deficit and decreased during re-watering. The variance value of betacyanin ratio (%) increased whereas betaxanthin decreased during water deficit and then increased after re-watering. In particular, green morph significantly increased betaxanthin compared to the betalain content in re-watering. The relative variation fluorescence (ΔV OP ) was increased by desiccation under high-temperature, and the O-J step and the J-I step","PeriodicalId":394576,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 8th World Congress on New Technologies","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115293776","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Many researchers are focusing on control release formulations (CRF) of bioactive compounds present in essential oils (EOs) as alternatives for reducing the risks to the environment and effects on health. Essential oils contain active metabolites such as terpenes, alkaloids, monoterpenes, limonoids, and others [1]. These metabolites have antifeeding properties against the insects since these when in contact decrease their activity. However, the biggest inconvenience of using essential oils is their chemical instability in the presence of factors such as air, light, dry, and high temperatures which cause rapid evaporation and degradation of the active components [2]. To solve these problems surge nanocarriers that can encapsulate EO through the polymeric matrix for it is important to investigate resources that have advantages as available, feasible, and safe for handling; the polysaccharides as starch, cellulose, chitosan, inulin are examples of these advantages [3]. Our research involves the use of inulin and modified starch as major encapsulating matrices for neem oil formulation using a green method for obtaining nanoparticles of polysaccharides and modification of starch with citric acid, two formulations for encapsulating neem oil were prepared: one with inulin and other with inulin-modified starch using green solvent and conditions as","PeriodicalId":394576,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 8th World Congress on New Technologies","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127317725","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

[1] However, due to the nature of the urban environment with many artificial structures, it is vulnerable to climate change, so wet and drought are occurring irregularly and repeatedly in urban gardens. [2] In this study, drought tolerance was assessment using chlorophyll fluorescence analysis on major garden plants used in urban gardening. Drought stress treatment was carried out under conditions of irrigation (control group) and non-irrigation (treatment group) for 14 species in the greenhouse of Hankyong National University in September 2021. Chlorophyll fluorescence (OJIP) was measured 5 times at 0 hr, 24 hr, and 48 hr after dark treatment for leaf 30 minutes using a chlorophyll fluorescence analyzer (FP-100, PSI). [3] It was confirmed that the photochemical performance index (PI ABS) decreased after drought treatment in most garden plants. So, the drought stress index (DFI) was calculated using PI ABS as follows (DFI = log(A) + 2log(B); A=24hr PI ABS treatment/PI ABS control, B=48hr PI ABS treatment/PI ABS control). Data were extracted from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Manufacturer and User Facility Device Experience (MAUDE) database. Yearly numbers of adverse event (AE) reports attributed to CT scanners including malfunctions, injuries, and deaths were recorded for the last 10 years (2012 to 2021). Monthly numbers of reports were also recorded for the 12 months immediately preceding the pandemic (2019/03 to 2020/03), as well as all the months after WHO declared COVID-19 a global pandemic (since 2020/03). It was found that the reported rates of injuries and malfunctions for CT scanners increased during the COVID-19 pandemic. The analysis also revealed unusual trends such as spikes in the malfunction rates from 2015 to 2018 compared to the preceding years, as well as in injuries and deaths. Manufacturers most responsible for these AE spikes included Philips, Superdimension, GE, Siemens, etc. The FDA Recall Database was further mined, and similar trends were identified in the yearly recalls over 2015- 2018, which correlated well with the malfunction rates (less apparent for injuries and deaths). While this project was originally centered around adverse pandemic-related effects on CT scanners, the important pre-pandemic findings warrant further research. These results might help prevent future AEs caused not only by CT scans but also by other medical devices. © 2022, Avestia Publishing. In this paper, we demonstrate UV sensors manufactured by a one-step spray-coating approach based on the ZnO tetrapod (ZnO-T) structure, with high responsiveness (ON/OFF) and quick rise-decay periods at ambient temperature. The transfer length method was used to assess the ZnO-Au sensor contacts. The distribution and characteristics of SST have been used in various fields such as climate modeling, global heat balance, weather forecasting, atmospheric and ocean circulation, and ocean data assimilation. Global SST is on the rise due to climate change, and this change can be observed with satellites. Currently, Geostationary Korea Multi-Purpose Satellite-2A(GK2A) daily SST product is provided for East Asia. However, the SST value based on infrared sensors is missing in the case of sea areas where clouds or aerosols appear continuously. Since these missing data increase the uncertainty of the satellite product, it is necessary to improve it in order to expand the use of SST product. Therefore, this study aims to produce high-quality gap-free SST data for climate change monitoring in East Asian Seas. For this purpose, three steps of outlier removal, spatial gap-filling techniques, and validation with in-situ observations were applied. Outlier detection was performed using Deviation from Spatial Autocorrelation Trend(DSAT) [1]. DSAT detects extreme outliers with exceptional characteristics when compared to neighboring pixels. Our spatial gap-filling approaches were based on statistics such as Multiple Linear Regression(MLR) and Regression Kriging(RK). These regression techniques used the relation between SST with meteorological factors like temperature, humidity, and wind speeds, etc. Specifically, RK was performed through the following procedure [2].","PeriodicalId":394576,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 8th World Congress on New Technologies","volume":"91 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116755330","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
