The research model, building on the Theory of Planned Behavior, incorporated overload, fatigue, and self-efficacy, to understand the drivers behind users’ intention to stop using Facebook (either permanently or intermittently) or replace it with another social medium. Overall, the results suggest that participants are unlikely to abandon Facebook either on a permanent or a temporary basis, at least in the near future. Tracking spreadsheets for resource title, permalink, image (if applicable), description, and method of promotion are in place over a calendar for easy referral. There is also a spreadsheet that tracks the usage of each resource before, during, and after the resource has been promoted. The hope is to observe an increase in usage, but there may be a need to put effort into different promotion methods if no correlation between promotion and usage is observed. Future potential website promotion methods include using website banners, and implementing suggested resources through our discovery layer. In conclusion, using the library website in new ways can be a low-barrier and cost-effective way to promote electronic resources. Through three simulated processes on two major e-book platforms, EBSCOhost and ProQuest Ebook Central, the authors were able to gain insights into how usage was counted at item level within each e-book platform. The study finds that both vendors followed the principles of COUNTER 5 standard in usage reporting. Trends related to e-resource use prior to and during the pandemic at a small academic library and within its consortium are discussed. The results of this assessment dispel the assumptions behind a hypothesis that licensed online resources would see greater use in supporting instruction and research as institutions pivoted to online-only course delivery in the early months of the pandemic.
