In order to enhance the performance of the high-speed packet transmission in low spreading factor, a new WCDMA receiver of chip equalizer (LMMSE-MPIC) is presented in this paper, which combines the linear chip equalizer with nonlinear multi-path interference cancellation together. The algorithm (PC-LMMSE) is proposed based on pilot cancellation. Theoretic analysis and computer simulations show that LMMSE-MPIC is superior to conventional Rake and LMMSE equalizer and effectively improves the performance of the WCDMA system in low spreading factor.","PeriodicalId":393410,"journal":{"name":"ICMMT 4th International Conference on, Proceedings Microwave and Millimeter Wave Technology, 2004.","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2004-08-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125662031","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, the radiation characteristic of this type of antenna array is analyzed using the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. The key features of the FDTD implementation are discussed, with particular emphasis placed upon modeling of the source region and comparison of the convergence character of difference antenna feed models. The technique is used to predict the patterns of the cylindrical dipole array. The FDTD results agree well with the computation results from the method of moments (MOM).","PeriodicalId":393410,"journal":{"name":"ICMMT 4th International Conference on, Proceedings Microwave and Millimeter Wave Technology, 2004.","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2004-08-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126921955","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An algorithm based on the transverse operator method is developed. The longitudinal section electric modes and longitudinal section magnetic modes of a corresponding dielectric stratified waveguide have been taken as the basis eigenfunctions. This allows a more rapid convergence in terms of modes. The number of eigenmodes used in this analysis does not depend on the multidielectric structure. The dispersion characteristics of this type of coupler have been calculated by using an equivalent multidielectric waveguide. The coupling length, coupling ratio and the polarization as functions of the coupler parameters are evaluated. The obtained results are compared with the published theoretical and practical data. The comparison shows that the used method has an excellent accuracy.","PeriodicalId":393410,"journal":{"name":"ICMMT 4th International Conference on, Proceedings Microwave and Millimeter Wave Technology, 2004.","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2004-08-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129918827","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Moving targets with respect to the stationary background cause smeared and ill-positioned images. Detection and imaging of moving targets in SAR signals are necessary. We propose the method that combined the ridges of the short-time Fourier transform (STFT) and Radon transform (RT) to detect moving targets. Processing steps of this method and simulated results are given in detail.
