Liver is the site of many diseases which becomesymptomatic while some are diagnosed only on autopsy.It is beneficial for clinician and pathologist to reachaccurate diagnosis through histopathological examination of liver and determine the involvement of liver inautopsy cases.Methods: A prospective study was conducted in the Department of Pathology, Government Medical College,Amritsar from January 2021 to December 2022. One hundred liver specimens were studied in autopsy cases ofdifferent age groups received in department of Pathology. Gross examination of liver specimen was done and.Hand E stained slides were subjected to microscopic examination. The aim of the study was to see the prevalenceof liver diseases in medicolegal autopsies and their histopathological examination.Conclusion: In our study number of males was more than females. Liver congestion was the most common findingin our study followed by fatty liver. Alcohol intake was the common findings in large number of autopsy cases.","PeriodicalId":39136,"journal":{"name":"Indian Journal of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135008403","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The utility ofChatGPT is being assessed possibly in all fields now with medical education predicted to be one of the key areasto be highly benefitted by ChatGPT.Objective: We aim to evaluate the performance of ChatGPT in Forensic Medicine of the third professional MBBSpart 1.Methods: The performance of ChatGPT was assessed using the final university examination question papers. Thequestions were used to converse with ChatGPT and each of the responses was recorded. The answers generatedby ChatGPT were later evaluated by the expert faculties in the Department of Forensic Medicine. Results: All ourquestions regarding the subject were satisfactorily addressed by ChatGPT. The answers were concise without anypictorial representation. Before generating content related to issues like “sodomy”, potential content violationmessages were sent.Conclusion: ChatGPT has performed moderately in the evaluation. Although there were invalid and incorrectresponses, with additional inputs and training, these chatbot systems can be improved to assist medical educatorsin various subjects and can emerge as one of the innovative teaching-learning strategies in medical education. Wecan successfully use these technologies to improve medical education and, ultimately, patient care by leveragingAI’s benefits while addressing its drawbacks.","PeriodicalId":39136,"journal":{"name":"Indian Journal of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136373091","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Soon, it spread across the globe and WHO declared it a Pandemic. Various countries took various measures to control its spread and transmission. By the time, countries recovered from it, a new wave would come along with different expressions and pathophysiology. When Covid 19 began, various health agencies in India started making protocols and standard ooperating procedures including conducting autopsies in COVID-19 infected bodies. Aims and Objectives:-Aim of our study is to analyze cause of death among all covid 19 positive cases brought for medicolegal autopsies from the time of lockdown for a period of one year. Our aim is to see if there were any factors which could have prevented these deaths. Material(s) and Method(s): A retrospective study of 1 year conducted from 25th March 2020 to 24th March 2021, (1st wave of Covid 19) was done in a tertiary care hospital in Bangalore. (Bowring and Lady Curzon hospital) Results: 39 Covid-19-positive unnatural deaths were handled with the youngest being 18 years old and the oldest beings 83. The majority turned out to be suicides (51.28%), then RTAs, falls, and natural death. The commonest method of suicide was hanging (35.89%), followed by poison consumption, and falling from a height. Conclusion(s): COVID-19 is a viral infection with variable clinical signs and variable fatality rates. There is much to learn about it. However, suicides in COVID-19 cases might not have ended death if some care, timely diagnosis, and treatment were provided.Copyright © 2023, Institute of Medico-legal Publication. As of April 2022, the Government of the Republic of Indonesia has reported 4,249,323 confirmed cases of COVID-19. There have been 143,592 COVID-19-related deaths reported and 4,096,194 patients have recovered from the disease. COVID-19 is associated with a high risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE), however, to date, optimal prophylactic anticoagulant therapy remains uncertain and may depend on the severity of COVID-19. Objective(s): The aim of this study was to determine the difference in efficacy and safety in administering prophylactic doses with intermediate/therapeutic doses in confirmed COVID-19 patients. Result(s): This study used 6 studies that met the inclusion of differences in efficacy and safety in administering prophylactic doses with intermediate/therapeutic doses in confirmed COVID-19 patients. Conclusion(s): From 6 studies, there were 2 studies comparing anticoagulant prophylactic doses with intermediate doses and 4 studies comparing anticoagualnt prophylactic doses with therapeutic doses. In all studies, there were no significant differences in thromboembolic events or all-cause mortality in COVID-19 patients. The incidence of bleeding at the intermediate and therapeutic doses increased compared to the prophylactic dose, but the difference was not significant. Death due to electrocution virtually means accidental, with suicides are rare and homicides are even rarer. Most of the suicides by electrocution are committed by persons who have knowledge of electricity. Because of rarity of the suicide by electrocution this case is reported. We report a case of young man who works as security guard committed suicide by encircling electric wire around his left forearm and right leg. The circumstances surrounding the manner of electrocution and the features of electric injuries are presented and discussed.","PeriodicalId":39136,"journal":{"name":"Indian Journal of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology","volume":"7 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84760106","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
