In this article, I examine the growth, current states, and limitations of equity crowdfunding. Unlike previous studies that emphasized legal aspects, this study develops a discussion based on platform strategy. If innovative finance that connects individual companies with investors is the essence of crowdfunding, it would be of great significance to suggest academic, policy, and practical implications from the perspective of platform strategy. Furthermore, I believe that equity crowdfunding can provide an educational first step for individual investors who want to learn more about various investments. It is also hoped that investment will become a culture in Korea thereby accelerating the growth of venture ecosystem.

In specific, this paper identifies the factors affecting women’s entrepreneurial intention and entrepreneurial experience, and compares them to their male counterpart. By using a nationally representative survey on entrepreneurship, this paper finds that there are gender differences in the factors and their influences on entrepreneurial intention and entrepreneurial experience. In the case of women, entrepreneurial orientation and competencies are less likely to lead to the actual firm creation. Similarly, the level of education, as a social contextual factor, has a positive influence on women’s entrepreneurial intention, but it does not lead to entrepreneurial experience. Scholarly and practical implications are discussed.

The module and part makers of the internal combustion engine and related parts are disrupted by the electric vehicles. Tesla is the leading innovator in this sector. An investor asked Prof. Christensen whether Tesla is a disruptive innovation. The answer was strictly “No!” The contradiction of the reality and the theoretical claim brings the idea of anomalies in theory. For sure, Tesla has the ‘Disruptiveness’ in a sense, but the rigorous judgement is contradictory. It is an opportunity to expand the innovation theory. This study is an ad-hoc expansion of disruptive innovation theory with four transformational innovation types: Avalanche Innovation, foundation innovation, disruptive innovation. and authentic innovation/ entrepreneurship. Here, two innovation axis are suggested to explain the process of transformation and authenticity of entrepreneurs leading innovation. The re-examination of Tesla innovation from Christensen’s theoretical perspective and categorize it as a new type of innovation. It is ad-hoc expansion named as avalanche innovation. There are several downward innovations with adaptive course of actions that brings avalanche of Innovation to the SMEs in automobile industries. The convertive innovation of Hyundai-Kia motors and the barricade innovation of the parts and module companies are discussed. This study consists of three parts: the definition and understanding of Korean entrepreneurship, the development process of Korean entrepreneurship, and the nature of K-Entrepreneurship. \u0000First, in connection with Korea's economic and social development process and the spirit of the times, this study defines entrepreneurship as “① an entrepreneur’s challenging mindset, competence, and action, ② identifying new opportunities, and ③ creating and sharing value through innovation, cooperation, resources and risk management, in the context of the spirit of the age. Three key elements of entrepreneurship were derived: ① opportunity, ② challenge, and ③ innovation/value creation. \u0000Second, the development process of entrepreneurship in Korea was analyzed. Following the embryonic period of entrepreneurship (the 1920s-1950s), when entrepreneurship was not yet fully realized, entrepreneurship in Korea has developed along three stages: ① the first generation (1960s-1980s), ② the second generation (1990s-2000s) and ③ the third generation of entrepreneurship (since 2010s). Representative entrepreneurs for each age were analyzed, and the characteristics of business opportunities were also examined. \u0000Third, this study explored the prototype and characteristics of Korean entrepreneurship (K-Entrepreneurship) based on the development process of entrepreneurship in Korea and the attributes of entrepreneurs' activities. In particular, four key elements of Korean entrepreneurship - ① dynamic development reflecting the spirit of the times, ② rapid innovation and execution, ③ strong government policy support, and ④ existence of excellent entrepreneurs and smart people. Freedom, openness, fairness and co-prosperity are selected as “four iron principles” for realizing an innovative country enhancing entrepreneurship. This paper also presents evidence and reasoning why four iron principles are critical in realizing an “innovative country enhancing entrepreneurship.” Korea fell behind in the trend of the industrial revolution, which began in earnest around the 18th century, and suffered from colonialism and division from the mid-19th century to the first half of the 20th century, forcing it to remain a marginal country on the world stage. Korea has achieved economic growth and social development in the process of modernization that began in the late 20th century, and from 2020s, Korea has moved beyond its status as a developing country and has entered the position of 10 major economic powers and advanced countries. Nevertheless, Korea has been falling in the structure of political, economic, and cultural confusion and conflict due to ultra-fast compression growth. In order to enable Korea to develop into more advanced country that can become a model for the world, it has to advocate an “innovative country enhancing entrepreneurship” as the Korea's future vision. The “innovative country enhancing entrepreneurship” aims to be a country that realizes a virtuous cycle of economic growth and social development by solving social problems and conflicts creatively and innovatively. For this, the four core values of 'freedom', 'openness', 'fairness', and 'co-prosperity' should be the iron principles.

Based on prior literature survey, we first selected the following six key dimensions - talent, market, finance, support, specialization, and performance. Then, we shifted our attention to deriving 41 indicators that consist of those six dimensions via literature review and focus group interview(FGI). Lastly, among those indicators, we opted for 14 indicators by adopting the Delphi method with 20 experts and subsequently incorporated 8 more indicators if they were considered inevitably essential. As a result, we were able to propose 22 indicators in total. \u0000Then, by employing the indicators developed above, we tried to measure the regional startup ecosystem of Seoul. As a result, while the numerical values of talent, market, finance, support, and specialization improved in 2020 compared to those in 2019, the numerical value of performance diminished in the same period. These findings indicate that the startup ecosystem of Seoul suffered from inefficiency in the reference time points. Although the indicators proposed have several limitations unless data are consistently collected over time, they can be commonly used when comparing one region with others both domestically and globally. Therefore, various types of comparative studies attracting researchers' attention can be conducted in the future.
