Closed-form analytical approximations for these coefficients as a function of Fermi level, temperature and/or carrier concentration are developed for implementation in TCAD simulation. These analytical expressions for S, K and C have been employed to simulate the electro-thermal properties of a FDSOI (Fully depleted silicon on insulator) MOSFET versus front gate voltage from room down to very low temperature. The obtained results allow discriminating the electron and phonon contributions to the whole properties. These analyses could be very useful to further performing TCAD simulations of FDSOI MOSFETs down to very low temperature for full assessment of electro-thermal performances.","PeriodicalId":39047,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Electrical and Electronics Engineering","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79206037","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The requirements are beneficial for the hospital itself to establish the Smart Building Program to improve its energy efficiency concurrent with the green policy of the Ministry of Health Malaysia and Sustainable Development Goals by the United Nations. This paper reviews the background of Hospital Pulau Pinang energy data, energy consumption trending, energy-saving trending, and energy conservation measures taken for the hospital from 2015 to December 2021.The yearly energy consumption baseline taken in 2016 was 27,496,731.00 kWh. It reduced significantly to 21,356,063 kWh in 2021 due to energy conservation measures. As a result, Hospital Pulau Pinang has achieved energy-saving about 16% at approximately RM7.3 million reduction in operational expenditure. The main objective of this case study is to provide further potential energy savings by studying the energy reduction by implementing solar photovoltaics using the simulation method. The simulation method can predict that Hospital Pulau Pinang can achieve another 5,130,000 kWh energy savings annually. This type of simulation has never been done before at a public hospital, and it will give further enhancing strategies to the Smart Building Program itself. Furthermore, the potential of smart building can be maximized to the next level by simulation, which helps the hospital energy committee make the potential decision on the energy-saving investment.","PeriodicalId":39047,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Electrical and Electronics Engineering","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135085435","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is mainly due to the limited resources left in the Nature and the polluting characteristic of fossil fuel. Only thirty additional years are left for the supply of fossil fuels. The extreme climate change is largely attributed to automotive fossil fuel burning. The advent of pure Electric vehicles has resulted in reduction of harmful greenhouse gas emissions. It addresses the answer to the concerns of oil resource depletion, air pollution and climate changes. The benefit of using electric power in automotive sector is immense. However, the outcome of hybrid EVs can surpass pure EVs due to its capability of charging on the go, hence no extra charging time. In absence of any moving parts in a fuel cell, the maintenance and noise are also minimal. PEM fuel cell is a most eligible power source having reduced emissions and high efficiency characteristics. The efficiency of hybrid vehicle is a result of charging effectiveness. Control Strategy plays an important role in conservation and elevating energy whenever required. These are the energy power banks to optimize battery sizing and minimize losses. This paper explains a control strategy to enhance efficiency of FCHV system along with reduction of hydrogen consumption. This is achieved by maximizing fuel cell efficiency by balancing the power split between battery and fuel cell. The rule based strategy results in maximizing fuel cell system efficiency by sustaining the state of charge (SOC) of the battery. The SOC is aimed to be kept around a value which can address extremely low charge and high charge condition of the battery. At the same time, load on fuel cell is switched in a manner so as not to have a sudden ascent or descent of power, which helps in preventing the terminal deterioration in the fuel cell. Hence, PEMFC works as Range extender to the powertrain system and charges the battery while the vehicle is moving. The fuel cell efficiency and durability is maximized by balancing the power split between battery and fuel cell. The rule based strategy is applied in order to maximize fuel cell system efficiency and sustaining the state of charge (SOC) of the battery.","PeriodicalId":39047,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Electrical and Electronics Engineering","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134952964","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

New emissions control challenges and efficient technological availability are the pillars of creation. The growing demand to upgrade industrial manufacturing systems creates actions that directly impact vehicle production. With this comes the search for new prototyping methods and virtual tools for component testing and validation, and vehicle systems have established themselves. The demand for Electronic Control Units (ECU) is increasing due to the availability of intelligence and safety in today's vehicles, directly affecting their development, performance, and functional testing. In order to keep up with global changes, the automotive industry uses different virtual environments to produce, verify and validate their vehicles and test prototypes used during development. Therefore, in this paper, integration and validation were performed using the Hardware in the Loop (HIL) test platform, focusing on the ECU Body Control Unit (BCM). Then, a brief commentary reviews other test medium platforms, such as the Plywood Buck (PWB), and examines the reliability, flexibility, installation time, and cost of the three test platforms, software in the loop (SIL), Model in the loop (MIL), and HIL, to review their benefits, challenges, and issues in use and information to optimize the use of each platform and test medium.","PeriodicalId":39047,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Electrical and Electronics Engineering","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135950041","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
