However, the interest in entrepreneurship among Malaysian students is still low, where most of them prefer to be “job seeker” or “employee” instead of “job creator”. The role of education, generally, has been recognized as a crucial process in developing individuals by providing knowledge and skills. In order to support the creation of new venture among nascent entrepreneur, entrepreneurship education is viewed as crucial element that can encourage this happening which could help to reduce unemployment rate. The impact of social intelligence could be one of the crucial variables to be studied in order to predict the entrepreneurial intention among the students. Hence, this study examined the mediating effect of entrepreneurship motivation on the relationship between the variables. The study found there is a significant mediating effect of motivation on the relationship between education and entrepreneurial intention, but there is no significant mediating effect on the relationship between social intelligence and entrepreneurial intention. This paper discussed the implications and recommendations as well.","PeriodicalId":38990,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Business and Management Science","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88895112","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the COVID-19 pandemic has badly hit the tourism industry, which has deteriorated its performance since 2019. Many countries are moving toward the endemic phase, including Malaysia, and they are opening the country border again to the global travelers. This study aims to examine the attitude of Malaysians toward the country’s tourism development, whereby the influence of perceived sustainable local community development, specifically on economic impact, social impact, and environmental impact, was examined. Based on data collected from a total of 210 survey responses using purposive sampling, economic impact and environmental impact have shown significant positive influence on the attitude of the locals. Implications to policy makers, researchers and market practitioners have also discussed in this study. This paper ends with discussion on research limitations and recommendations for future researchers.","PeriodicalId":38990,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Business and Management Science","volume":"219 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85889265","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The attention is now shifted to e-waste due to the surge in demand for electric and electronic devices, especially after the pandemic Covid-19 hit. Focusing on Malaysian publicly listed technology and telecommunication companies, this study aims to identify the types of e-waste generated, how e-waste is managed, and the difference in e-waste practices between the two industries. This study found that screens and monitors and small IT and telecommunication equipment are the most e-waste generated by the two industries, whilst the least e-waste generated is industrial e-waste and temperature exchange equipment for technology and telecommunication industries. Moreover, both industries managed their e-waste by showing a high level of adherence to authorities’ rules, regulations and guidelines. Lastly, there is no significant difference between the two industries in managing their e-waste.","PeriodicalId":38990,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Business and Management Science","volume":"4 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78432444","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The independent variable in this study is the debt maturity structure. The dependent variable is investment decision while the control variable consists of lagged investment, fixed asset turnover, leverage, return on total assets, liquidity, cash flow and firm size. This research was conducted by collecting data from 54 companies in the food and beverage sub-sector in Indonesia over a period of 3 years (2019-2021) and using a panel data regression model in its testing. The results of the research conducted explained that the variables of debt maturity structure, leverage, liquidity, and cash flow have no effect on investment decisions, lagged investment variables, return on total assets, and company size have a significant positive effect on investment decisions while the fixed asset turnover variable has a significant negative effect on investment decisions. The implication of the research that has been done is to provide direction for financial managers to seek to increase the use of fixed assets, and increase the return on total company assets and optimal use of company fixed asset turnover, while investors should choose companies that have high company size, return on total assets that are high and the previous year's high fixed assets.","PeriodicalId":38990,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Business and Management Science","volume":"13 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82895470","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although the curriculum requires laboratory sessions, fisheries and aquaculture students from a public university in Malaysia shifted their training online, a completely different and unexpected scenario. Due to the virus's rapid spread, the online sessions were not properly prepared by the university but still needs to be performed for the students. As the pandemic forces higher institutions to continue with online learning, understanding the factors influencing students' willingness to continue online learning is crucial for both parties. The study adopted the Technology Continuance Theory and used a purposive sampling method, gathering 294 respondents from the online survey. The study also examined the online learning service quality, conformation, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, satisfaction, attitude, performance and fisheries and aquaculture students’ willingness to continue using online learning during the pandemic. Moreover, the study extended the predictive power by introducing the serial mediation of perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude, performance and satisfaction. Using SmartPLS, the results revealed that all of the hypotheses were supported. Ultimately, the findings provided essential information to understand further the student’s willingness to continue online learning during the pandemic. Furthermore, the results help the top management craft a better strategy and policy on online learning and develop a proper plan to allow students to return to campus life.","PeriodicalId":38990,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Business and Management Science","volume":"18 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90037388","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
