Studies show that health in early life has substantial effects on health and wellbeing throughout the entire life course. Literature shows that better-off people both socially and economically tend to be in better health and healthier people are more productive. Studies on intergenerational transmission of health report positive correlation between favorable maternal characteristics and survival probabilities of their children. Recognizing the multiplicity of pathways, the bidirectional nature of causes and effects between health status and economic development, it is quite possible to attempt a review on socioeconomic background of the household and health status of young children (36 months to 71 months) issues in one study. This study therefore focuses on the effects of parental socio-economic status (SES) on child health. Main focus of this paper is to find the effect of socio-economic background of the household as an indicator of SES and examine its impact on child health outcomes for children aging 3 to 5 years. Socio-economic status of household affects child development and better health as well as child development contribute to Economic Development of an Economy.","PeriodicalId":387621,"journal":{"name":"IOSR Journal of Economics and Finance","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132292364","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To examine the stability of money demand the study used real gross domestic product (RGDP) as scale variable, saving deposit rate (Rt) as opportunity cost variable, average exchange rate (Ex) as indicator of openness of economy, and real money demand measured by (M2/Pt).The study used ADF unit root test, the Johansen and Juselius (1990) Co-integration, error correction model (ECM), and CUSUM and CUSUMSQ stability tests. The results of long run regression indicated that real broad money demand had positive and highly significant relationship with RGDP and exchange rate whereas saving interest rate has negative and insignificant relationship. In addition CUSUM and CUSUMSQ stability tests of long run money demand function showed the evidence for parameter stability. However, the short run model indicated instability of the parameters. Thus, monetary targeting framework based on broad money supply (M2) can be appropriate intermediate target of monetary policy in Ethiopia. This implies that national Bank of Ethiopia is Effective in choosing intermediate monetary policy target. In short run, however, monetary policy authority can better target multiple macroeconomic indicators.","PeriodicalId":387621,"journal":{"name":"IOSR Journal of Economics and Finance","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129660539","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The new information and communication that is the basis of management in the modern world requires proper mechanisms and infrastructures in order to make the development of business and good environment for entrepreneur possible. One of the most important infrastructures is internet banking. Arising any issue, whether political, social, economic, or cultural, has consequences associated with different internal or international outcomes, regardless of their positive or negative results. Since financial issues have been always the most challenging issues in human societies, internet banking is dealt with economic issues in a different and new way and hence, it may include regulations to meet, internally or internationally, the legal needs of clients and custodians and contribute to developing this technology further. Global central bank thinking and a uniform treaty for internet banking with strategic rules and regulations to resolve the financial disputes arising from internet banking is an instruction for pragmatists in reaching a global uniform procedure, which is considered as the most important outcome of modern communication, i.e. internet banking. Drafting and adoption of the International Convention on internet banking under considerations of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law through instructions and procedures of the central bank providing two conditions of goodwill and safety is an introduction for the realization of internet banking, which needs the contribution and cooperation of all countries including Iran. Internet banking may be misused and have harmful consequences for economy as much as it can contribute to develop economic, financial and banking activities. Aiming at improving internet banking and treating against violators and maintaining the clients' values, legal rules, either internal or international, are to maintain the clients' rights on the one hand and contribute to strengthening the foundations of this new economic technology on the other hand. In this context, this paper aims at study the legal aspects of internet banking in contexts of internal and international laws and explores the related rules with this technology briefly.","PeriodicalId":387621,"journal":{"name":"IOSR Journal of Economics and Finance","volume":"73 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133925584","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Failure to convert current assets into liquid cash can force a profitable firm into liquidation. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of liquidity management practices on profitability of industrial firms in Kenya. The study was explained by two cash management models; Baumol’s cash management model and Miller – Orr cash management model. Correlational research design was adopted. Two types of data were collected. Primary data was collected through the use of a questionnaire and secondary data through the use of a record survey sheet. Stratified random sampling technique was used to determine the sample size. Data analysis was through descriptive and inferential data analysis. The inferential data analysis, Pearson’s correlation, regression and ANOVA analysis were applied. The results of the analysis indicated that the correlation coefficient between liquidity cash management and profitability was 0.711 at 0.01 significant level. This showed a positive and significant relationship between liquidity management practices and profitability of industrial firms. R 2 value was 0.5055 which means that 50.55% of the corresponding variation in profitability can be explained by change in liquidity management practices. The rest 49.45% can be explained by other factors that are not in the model. The ANOVA results on liquidity management practices and profitability had an F-value of 90.677 which was significant with a P value = 0.000 meaning that the overall model was significant in the prediction of profitability in industrial firms in Kenya. It is recommended that the finance managers should establish optimal cash targets, lower and upper cash limits in their industrial firms. They should also invest excess cash into productive assets.","PeriodicalId":387621,"journal":{"name":"IOSR Journal of Economics and Finance","volume":"493 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121718275","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
