This integrated platform features functionalities of lamp characteristics identification, circuit component optimum design, and ballast performance verification. Based on the precise lamp characteristics and design specification, through computer simulation and data computation, the design outcomes, including lamp butterfly chart, resonant tank designer, complete ballast schematic, bill of materials, are produced for a selected lamp type and input voltage range. A design case of ultraviolet lamp ballast with high power factor is taken as an example to expound the design procedures as well as demonstrate the validness and feasibility of the presented design platform.","PeriodicalId":384583,"journal":{"name":"TENCON 2007 - 2007 IEEE Region 10 Conference","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117314812","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, a modified bipartite matching (MBM) algorithm is proposed for multiobjective optimization. This algorithm can be widely used to solve the weighted bipartite matching problem with multiobjective optimization. We illustrate the application of MBM to antenna assignments in wireless MIMO system. The simulation results show that MBM enjoys low computational complexity and maximizes the system capacity, while keeping the fairness among mobile users.","PeriodicalId":384583,"journal":{"name":"TENCON 2007 - 2007 IEEE Region 10 Conference","volume":"97 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124674873","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Unlike previous works, a proposed filter is a low-complexity, easy to implement. Also, it gives us the optimal solution which is the same as the optimal FIR filter and recursive FIR forms designed by Kwon et al. [2]. A new optimal receding horizon filter is composed largely of two sets of equations. The sets of Lyapunov equations and the celebrated Kalman equations fully describe the proposed filter. The content of this paper includes the discrete and continuous versions of linear systems. Finally, the performance of the proposed filter is tested through numerical examples.","PeriodicalId":384583,"journal":{"name":"TENCON 2007 - 2007 IEEE Region 10 Conference","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125131149","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, its native design does not consider the wireless operations and the security demands. Although past studies were conducted to improve either its wireless performance or its security functionality, we cannot And any research considering both issues. In this paper, we proposed a collaborative approach (CS-SCTP) for secure SCTP communication in a wireless environment. CS-SCTP employs two mechanisms, partial authentication and two- level key encryption, to preserve the performance advantages in Collaborative SCTP (C-SCTP) and the security enhancement in Secure SCTP (S-SCTP). In the simulations, the performance results show that CS-SCTP outperforms S-SCTP and is comparable to C-SCTP.","PeriodicalId":384583,"journal":{"name":"TENCON 2007 - 2007 IEEE Region 10 Conference","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125524834","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper presents a fast direction detection algorithm to effectively reduce the number of the possible candidate modes for H.264 intra prediction. The proposed fast algorithm is based on the direction detection of the edge inside the block. Instead of full intra mode search, the proposed method only searches 4 modes for 4times4 luminance blocks, and 2 modes for 16times16 luminance and 8times8 chrominance blocks. Experimental results reveal that the proposed algorithm significantly reduces the encoding time over 60% in average with slight loss in bit-rate and PSNR.","PeriodicalId":384583,"journal":{"name":"TENCON 2007 - 2007 IEEE Region 10 Conference","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129411475","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The technique used in compressing text allows searching phrase in the compressed form without decompressing the compressed file. There are many fundamental problems that sensor networks research will have to address in order to ensure a reasonable degree of cost and system quality. Cluster formation and cluster head selection are important problems in sensor network applications and can drastically affect the network's communication energy dissipation. However, selecting of the cluster head is not easy in different environments which may have different characteristics. In this paper, in order to deal with this problem we propose a power reduction algorithm for sensor networks based on fuzzy logic. This is completed by solving a system of linear equations or by using some matrix properties to simplify the optimization. The proposed approach establishes the quadratic error difference of the filter optimization in the frequency domain as the Lyapunov energy function. Consequently, the optimal filter coefficients are obtained with good performance and fast convergence speed.
