Plant production largely depends on the ability to obtain good quality seeds. Factors that lead to a change in the strategy of forage crop seeding in conditions of the Ukrainian market are the need for further intensification of the feed production industry, which is a prerequisite for the successful development of animal husbandry. In this regard, the main goal of forage crop seeding is to ensure sufficient production of leguminous and cereal grass seeds to improve and expand the areas of cultural pastures and hayfields, to optimize the structure of forage crop sown areas in field and meadow feed production, reclamation of eroded lands, creation of gardens and parks lawns with high aesthetic indicators, as well as for the export of seeds of perennial grasses. Methods. Field, laboratory, visual, measuring, weight, quantitative, test sheaf method, mathematical, statistical. Results. The data of long-term studies on the formation of high yields of leguminous and cereal grasses seeds are highlighted. It has been established that seed yield largely depends on technological factors, in particular, on the fertilization system in crop rotation, harvesting dates, crop preservation, biological characteristics of seed plants of these species. The exclusion of at least one of the operations provided by the technology leads to a significant decrease in the seed productivity of perennial grasses. Conclusions. In order to increase the volume of seed production of perennial leguminous and cereal grasses with high sowing and yield properties of the new generation varieties, innovative energy-saving technologies for their cultivation have been developed based on biologization of the production process, optimization of the mineral nutrition system, the use of chelated fertilizers and growth regulating preparations in the corresponding periods of the development of seed grass stands, which provides a 18-210% increase in seed productivity of perennial grasses, improves the sowing properties of seeds (growth strength, germination ability, weight of 1000 seeds) by 4-12%.","PeriodicalId":384529,"journal":{"name":"Feeds and Feed Production","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122337402","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The in-depth study of the source material for modern directions of faba bean breeding for further use in the creation of high-yielding varieties in the Forest-Steppe of Ukraine. Methods. Field, morphometric, statistical, analyzes on the basis of generally accepted and special methods in plant breeding, seed and crop production. Results. The results of the study of modification variability of absolute and relative quantitative traits of faba bean plants are presented, the interrelation of quantitative traits is investigated and the contribution of individual elements of the productivity structure to the total yield is determined. Environmentally stable indicators and simple indices have been identified, and traits that can be used for genotype identification and selection have been established. Given the high variability of absolute quantitative traits of faba bean plants for genotype identification, it is advisable to use the traits of plant height and number of nodes per plant, where the coefficients of variation were less than 10 percent. For faba beans, the most environmentally stable indices are the harvesting index, the number of seeds per bean, internode length, and the microdistribution index. According to the correlation analysis, it was found that the seed productivity of faba bean varieties is closely correlated with the following indicators: aboveground plant mass, number of beans per plant, number of seeds per plant, weight of pod flaps per plant. Conclusions. These studies allowed to identify absolute and relative traits of faba beans with ecologically stable indicators, simple indices, the ecological variability of which is less than the variation of the original traits, the correlation analysis of the relationships of quantitative traits of faba beans within the species allowed to identify a number of traits that should be used in fodder beans breeding.","PeriodicalId":384529,"journal":{"name":"Feeds and Feed Production","volume":"52 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133047235","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To ensure the maximum realization of the productive potential of legumes in the production of fodder plant material with a high content of crude protein. Methods. Generally accepted widely approved methods of research work on fodder production, dialectical method of scientific knowledge, observation, comparison, abstract logical and statistical-mathematical analysis. Results. Different intensities of ontogenesis, dynamics of green mass and dry matter accumulation and parameters of the qualitative composition of perennial legumes were studied. Critical microstages of development were identified, when the crude protein content in the dry matter of plants decreased below 20.0%. For tall legume species, it was 49 microstage of development, which corresponds to the complete budding of plants, and for small species - 5-9 microstages of development, which corresponds to the beginning of flowering. The technological model of production of fodder raw materials from perennial legumes with an assessment of the levels of fodder productivity and quality indicators of plant raw materials was theoretically substantiated. It was found that foliar feeding of legumes with biological products Nanovit Humino Max, Nanovit Amino Max and Vitazim Bio at a dose of 1 l/ha against the background of local application of N60P60K60 in the rows during sowing of legumes provided 3 mowing per season with a significant advantage of the productivity of the studied species over the control. The increase in green mass was 12.3-31.0 t/ha, which is 27.5-70.1% more than in the control, and the increase in dry matter was 2.8-5.9 t/ha, or 29.7-66.2% more. Conclusions. The developed model of technology for growing perennial legumes provides an optimal balance between high productivity and quality of plant raw materials. It has been proven that foliar fertilization with biological products in combination with local fertilization provides a significant increase in the yield of green mass, dry matter and crude protein content. The use of an innovative fertilizer system in combination with a system of use differentiated by macrostages of plant development contributes to a significant increase in the fodder productivity of legume plant material for the preparation of high-quality feed with a high crude protein content.","PeriodicalId":384529,"journal":{"name":"Feeds and Feed Production","volume":"180 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123790918","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To investigate the effect of feeding broiler chickens with propolis, in dry form as part of compound feed and in liquid form in ethanolic and aqueous extracts, on their growth intensity, feed spending and poultry stock survival; to carry out a comparative assessment of the effectiveness of different ways of using propolis in the diets of broiler chickens. Methods. Analytical methods of research, observation, comparison, analysis, zootechnical experiment were used in the research. Results. A number of studies conducted by various authors testify to the harmlessness of the water extract and water-alcohol emulsion of propolis for farm animals and poultry. Due to the significant amount of propolis biologically active substances that enter the body with food or water cause a specific effect that is manifested in strengthening the immune system, and therefore, the poultry stock survival and increased growth intensity. Our research has established that the water extract of propolis contributes to the average daily gains growth by 16.8%, but bird survival when drinking it with water was by 6.7% lower than when using the ethanol extract. As a part of compound feed, dry propolis did not have positive effect on the survival rate of chickens, which was 20% lower than with the use of propolis ethanol extract, but 6.7% higher than under the control diet. Conclusions. The use of propolis in the diets of broiler chickens in the form of ethanol extract, water extract when drinking with water and feeding in dry form as part of compound feed was evaluated. It was established that the use of aqueous extract of propolis contributes to the increase in average daily gains by 16.8%, but provides a lower survival rate of birds by 6.7% than when using the ethanolic extract of propolis.","PeriodicalId":384529,"journal":{"name":"Feeds and Feed Production","volume":"114 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131779397","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To investigate the inheritance of the main valuable economic traits of created breeding material of spring pebble vetch under conditions aridity intensification. Methods. Field, visual, measuring, weighing, quantitative, laboratory, mathematical-statistical. Results. 18 breeding lines of spring pebble vetch obtained by diallel crosses were analyzed for valuable economic traits. It has been proven that the degree of phenotypic dominance of F1 hybrids can vary from hp > +1 to hp < -1 depending on the components of the cross. It has been established that in the predominant majority of hybrids, plant height inheritance occurs by types of overdominance and positive dominance. The character of inheritance of the lower pod attachment height is largely determined by the combination of parental components. For seed productivity traits (number of pods, number of seeds, seed weight), heterosis and partial positive dominance were revealed. The weight of 1000 seeds in the predominant majority of hybrids is directed towards small-seededness and inherited by the type of depression, partial negative and partial positive dominance. Conclusions. The results of the study show that the inheritance of feed and seed productivity traits in F1 hybrids of spring pebble vetch is quite complex, the manifestation of which largely depends on the conditions of the study and parental components. Six hybrid combinations were identified, in which the seed productivity traits were inherited by the type of heterosis. For traits suitability for mechanized harvesting, a number of lines were identified in which plant height and lower pod attachment height were inherited by the type of dominance. The identified breeding material can be used in practical breeding to create new varieties of spring pebble vetch with high seed productivity.","PeriodicalId":384529,"journal":{"name":"Feeds and Feed Production","volume":"1155 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114167186","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To study the effectiveness of feeding adsorptive clay (perlite) as part of compound feed for young pigs on fattening. Methods. Deductions, scientific hypotheses and abstraction, zootechnical analysis, method of liquid chromatography, spectrophotometry, titrometry, variational statistics. Results. The high intensity of animal growth and metabolism in their bodies is impossible without supplying them with lipids in feed, therefore crude fat should be considered a mandatory component of diets for farm animals. Lipids in feed increase the amount of energy and this allows to reduce costs for grain components. Without lipids, the number of processes in the body would be impossible, including the normal functioning of the hormonal system, besides, the so-called essential fatty acids – linoleic, linolenic, arachidonic – affect the development and productivity of animals. First of all, vegetable oils and fish meal should be mentioned as fat-bearing feed components. The use of waste of vegetable oil production in compound feed for pigs is an additional source of fats. Adsorption clay is used for oil purification and refining in the production process and is disposed after technological cycle completion. The exhausted adsorption clay has a sufficiently high fat content in its composition. It has been established that the use of adsorption clay (perlite) in feeding young pigs reared for meat in the amount of 5% as part of compound feed has a positive productive effect, contributes to the increase of feed nutrition of compound feed, increase average daily gains of animals against control by 7.4%, live weight of 1 head at the end of the main period of the experiment by 5.14% and absolute gain by 7.23%. To establish productivity indicators and terms of mowing perennial grasses of different maturity terms depending on fertilizer, Methods. Field, laboratory, mathematical and statistical. Results. The research results of productivity indicators of different maturity terms perennial grasses depending on the fertilization system between the mowings and the peculiarities of the growth of dry biomass during formation of the first mowing on the sod-podzolic soil of the Carpathian region, conducted during 2011-2013, are presented. Conclusions. Productivity of various types of perennial grasses on nitrogen-free backgrounds in the 1st mowing varied between 1.22-1.67 t/ha of dry mass, in the 2nd – 1.06-1.40, and in the 3rd – in in the range of 0.79-1.01 t/ha of dry mass. The most productive in the 1st mowing were Bromus inermis and Phleum pretense L., in the 2nd – Dactylis glomerata, Festuca orientals (Hack.), and Lolium perenne. The most uniform distribution of the dry mass yield in the mowings with the smallest coefficient of variation (6-12%) was characteristic of the Dactylis glomerata, and the least uniform with the largest coefficient (29-35%) – of the Phleum pretense L. Nitrogen had the greatest effect on the productivity of cereal grass stands. With the application of P60K60, productivity increased by 3-23% compared to the variant without fertilizers, and with the application of N90P60K60 – by 1.8-1.9 times. The highest indicators of daily increase in dry mass (75-206 kg/ha), leaf surface area (30.3-43.1 thousand m2/ha) and net productivity of photosynthesis (1.16-4.78 g/m2 per day) in the 1st mowing fell on the period of tuberization-the beginning of the earing of cereal grasses. The growth of productivity of dry biomass, leaf surface area and net productivity of photosynthesis occurs before the flowering phase of grasses.","PeriodicalId":384529,"journal":{"name":"Feeds and Feed Production","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114790924","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of the study was to investigate the peculiarities of wintering of winter rape depending on the factors of intensification in the Right-Bank Forest-Steppe of Ukraine. Methods. General scientific and special research methods were used in the course of the work. Results. Weather conditions have made their adjustments over the years of research, especially significant impact on wintering of winter rape had the amount of precipitation over the years of research and varied greatly. Pre-sowing treatment and foliar fertilization of plants were of great importance, these measures had a positive effect on the studied aspects. It also contributed to the accumulation of high sugar content in the root collar of plants, the formation of a greater accumulation of absolutely dry plant mass, which accordingly provided a higher percentage of winter hardiness of winter rape plants by 8.0-10.3%. Analyzing the research, we indicate that the use of growth regulators in foliar feeding of winter rape plants against the background of pre-sowing seed treatment had a significant effect on the wintering of rape. Treatment of winter rape seeds with Vitavax 200 FF, 34 % w.c.c., before sowing, with growth regulator Vympel-K significantly increased field germination, and their joint use provided a more positive effect. Conclusions. The use of the growth regulator Vympel-K (500 g/t) indicated that the wintering of plants was better compared to the control (untreated seeds) and almost 5.8% higher than in the variants with seed treatment with Vitavax 200 FF, 34% w.c.k. (2.5 l/t). The use of the growth regulator Vympel foliarly in the fall in the rosette phase of 5-6 leaves against the background of pre-sowing seed treatment with Vitavax 200 FF, 34 % w.c. + growth regulator Vympel-K provided better growth and development of plants.","PeriodicalId":384529,"journal":{"name":"Feeds and Feed Production","volume":"68 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133206649","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Determination of the species composition of weeds in switchgrass crops and their influence on the formation of biomass productivity. Methods. Field, laboratory, quantitative-weighing, calculation-comparative, mathematical-statistical. Results. The results of studies on weed infestation of switchgrass crops and methods of their control are highlighted. A mixed type of weediness was observed in the crops, consisting of 19 species from 8 families, with a predominance of annual dicotyledonous species (75.0-87.2%). While in the third (91.7-95.1%) and fifth (61.0-91.7%) years of vegetation, perennial dicot species such as Erigeron canadensis, Lactuc aserriola L., Artemisia annua L., thistles ones, annual dicotyledons were not present. When analyzing the quantitative composition of weeds in the first year of vegetation on the weedy control, high level of weed infestation was observed, which amounted to 176 pcs./m2, in the second and third years 103-105 pcs./m2, in the fourth – 74 pcs./m2 and in the fifth – 39 pcs./m2 . In the variants where weed control was used in the third and subsequent years a decrease in the number of weeds by 83.5-88.4% was noted compared to the control. The use of herbicides on crops ensured efficiency in the first year of vegetation at the level of 72.3-76.9%, while in the fifth year it was 95.3-96.2%. Weed control allowed increasing the biomass yield to 10.7-10.8 t/ha, while the weeded control yielded 8.8 t/ha. Conclusions. The use of herbicides (Dialen super 464 SL, Caliber 50) led to a decrease in the number of weed plants from 28.6% in the first year of vegetation to 88.3% in the fifth year, providing a 72.3-97.6% efficiency depending on the year of vegetation of the crop. To investigate the heat resistance of probiotic preparations before and after granulation of compound feed, to compare the obtained results. Methods. General scientific: hypothesis, experiment, analysis and synthesis. Specific: morphological, biochemical and statistical. To define the heat resistance of bacterial preparations, the colony-forming viability of bacterial cells was determined before and after granulation with exposure to maximum heat for one minute. The temperature of the granulated compound feed (before cooling) was set with a maximum thermometer. Results. It was established that increasing the temperature of the finished granules to 80-82°C significantly reduced the colony-forming ability of the cells of the bacterial preparation “BTU Probiotic”. Thus, at application of a 300 g dose of BTU probiotic per ton of compound feed, survival of bacterial colonies of the Bacillus subtilis strain decreased by 22.2%, at a 400 g dose of the preparation per ton of compound feed, survival of bacterial colonies decreased by 58.3%, at a 500 g dose – decreased by 53.3%. The maximum resistance to elevated temperatures and pressure was shown by the subtiform probiotic preparation with exposure of up to one minute. Thus, at application of 300 g doses of Subtiform per ton of compound feed, survival of bacterial colonies of another strain of Bacillus subtilis decreased by 16.0%, at 400 g doses of the preparation it decreased by 10%, at 500 g doses –decreased by 15.4%. Conclusions. The highest level of the Subtiform probiotic bacterial colonies survival was observed at application of a 400 g dose per ton of compound feed. Based on the obtained results, it can be stated that the heat resistance of the Subtiform probiotic preparation during granulation of compound feed was 38-48% higher compared to the “Probiotic BTU” preparation.","PeriodicalId":384529,"journal":{"name":"Feeds and Feed Production","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132256131","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
