The ever rising environmental issues on industrial pollution and daily life activities affecting our rivers, oceans, extinction of certain plant species and fish species as well deforestation had produced serious consequences that bring negative implication to the world. The Malaysian government has taken steps to overcome these problems through the implementation of 11th Malaysia Plan where one of the main key areas is creating green environment and sustainability nation. In order to realize this focus, Malaysian government needs the cooperation of the society. An environmental caring society could only be established if this habit is cultivated at young age. One obvious method to nurture environmental friendly practices is through education for primary school children. A local school were targeted and studied in terms of assessing the current syllabus as well as to ensure the limitations of available tool to guide the teachers in educating the children. In this study, a solution in the form of mobile based application incorporating standard four syllabuses on environmental education topic has been proposed to overcome the limitations. The prototype was tested among primary school children and received positive feedbacks indicating that the proposed solution is a long term remedy to protect the environment from further vandalism and to recover the nature from current pollution.","PeriodicalId":384130,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Research and Innovation in Information Systems (ICRIIS)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124905919","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Accordingly, we develop a new adoption-performance model for social CRM strategy at the organization level. The proposed model of this study links technological, organizational, environmental and process factors to social CRM adoption and performance. The proposed hypotheses were verified by using structural equation modeling on a dataset of 240 SMEs across Kuala Lumper, the capital city of Malaysia. The results revealed that top management support, IT/IS knowledge of employee, cost, relative advantage, compatibility, customer pressure and competitive pressure are important drivers for social CRM adoption. Finally, this study confirms that there is a significant relationship between social CRM adoption and SMEs performance.","PeriodicalId":384130,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Research and Innovation in Information Systems (ICRIIS)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129904858","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Security of these information systems is critically handled by applying both technical and behavioral controls. However, security culture in certain organizations such as Higher Education Institutions (HEI) is questionable due to the lax attitude of employees towards the institutional resources. This research intends to examine the effect of institutional governance (IG) factors security awareness programs, establishment of security policies and periodic monitoring in enhancing the protection motivation among employees. It is believed that employees motivated, through various sources of information, towards the protection of resources intend to comply with organizational Information Security Policies (ISP) documented to disseminate the roles and responsibilities of employees. The two relevant theories i.e. Protection Motivation Theory (PMT) and Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) are integrated for this research. The effect of IG and negative experience, as external sources of information, is investigated on the integrated theories. Relevant hypotheses are formulated in the proposed hybrid research model. To pilot test the survey questionnaire, data collection was done among the employees within the HEI of Malaysia. Results were derived using IBM SPSS 23. Pilot study shows reliable measurement scales, suitable for final data collection and analysis to validate the research model.","PeriodicalId":384130,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Research and Innovation in Information Systems (ICRIIS)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131436092","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the prevalent use of mobile phones, most parts of the ASEAN countries can be reached and this is a promising setting for mobile payment growth. One such country is the Philippines. This study conducted a quantitative research via online survey among the unbanked Filipinos to determine the factors that influence the intention to use mobile payment services. The motivation for this quest is the extremely low usage of mobile payment services reported by the World Bank Global Findex which indicated that only four percent of the adult population have an active mobile payment account. A new theoretical framework is suggested to study this phenomenon using adaptations of the UTAUT2.","PeriodicalId":384130,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Research and Innovation in Information Systems (ICRIIS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134100833","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A potential and capable crowd is lost if the first of their work is below par. This may be due to the temporary nature of workers engaged as crowd, which effects worker motivation resulting in the low quality work. From the perspective of crowd workers, it is interesting to explore the relationship of their motivation, capability and performance in crowdsourced setting. In this study, we have reviewed all the constructs found in previous research which affect the performance of a crowd worker. The study aims to explore the determinants of capability and the rank of each determinant (from lowest to highest) toward performance. This initial finding will help in devising a managerial system based on the Expectancy Theory of Motivation, combining the effect of capability and motivation toward performance. We anticipate that the result of this study will help in finding ways of identifying capable crowd, which may produce quality work in crowdsourced setting.","PeriodicalId":384130,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Research and Innovation in Information Systems (ICRIIS)","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132882178","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Social media (SM) is a growing social-networking tool connecting people from different states across the globe. Plus, SM has great potential to increase PA level from meta-analyses they exhibited the possibility of changing behavior and many sedentary lifestyles, for example watching TV, playing games, and working with computers can be reduced with the help of SM. Whereby, maintaining PA behavior can turn into a sophisticated topic as people would need constant motivations. The benefits of successfully predicting and understanding continuance intention (CI) will give us a clear picture of what the significant factors are. The objective of this study is to build a model that predicts and understands how Facebook (FB) users' CI for PA developed by analyzing the prior works and the existing theoretical theories. Modeling methods used in this work are Wordcloud, the analytic hierarchy process's calculation (AHP), the review of cognitive theories, and the synthesis of the base models. The CI model is comprised of the same theory of planned behavior's (TPB) constructs like attitude, intention, perceived behavioral control (PBC) with perceived value (PV), as the additional construct and technology acceptance model's (TAM) constructs like perceived usefulness (PU) and ease of use (PEOU). Nevertheless, the CI model also needs the extension of social network factors, therefore, social network structure and characteristics of network ties are included to measure the impact of social influence as a replacement of subjective norm. The findings are fundamental to understanding of the mechanisms driving CI on SM-based PA and applicable to domains like epidemiology, public health and so on.","PeriodicalId":384130,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Research and Innovation in Information Systems (ICRIIS)","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115203670","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While Leadership has constantly been recognized as one of the critical success factors of BPM initiatives globally, the nature and characteristics of leadership within BPM contexts is an under-researched area. Related research pertaining to the developing country context is very scarce. The organizational and cultural factors of developing countries are quite distinct compared to the developed world. The success of BPM depends on a number of socio-technical factors, leadership being one of them. The nature of leadership in complex socio-culture, socio-political, and socio-technical contexts requires a deeper understanding of these factors, and the nature and role of leadership in approaches like BPM need further investigation. The goal of the single case study reported herein was to develop a deeper understanding of ‘leadership’ in the context of ICT driven BPM initiatives in one of the Sri Lankan Government agencies: Department of Motor Transport (DMT-SL). An exploratory case study approach was used for this research where data was collected through in-depth interviews and secondary documents. The qualitative data analysis was supported by the use of NVivo. Insights from the data were used to formulate twelve (12) core leadership actions in public sector organizations in Sri Lanka that can influence BPM initiatives.","PeriodicalId":384130,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Research and Innovation in Information Systems (ICRIIS)","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129489001","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study analyzes the factors that influence consumer purchase intention toward online travel packages available on e-marketplace websites. Data collection was conducted via a survey with 441 respondents who were members of online travel communities/forums; the results were processed using a AMOS v22. The results of this research indicated the factors that most influence purchase intention toward online travel packages are online word of mouth (WOM) as well as determinants of the theory of planned behavior (TPB) such as subjective norm, attitude, and perceived behavioral control. In addition, online WOM affects attitude, destination trust, subjective norm, perceived risk, perceived relative advantage, and perceived behavioral control. It was also found that perceived relative advantage affects attitude.","PeriodicalId":384130,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Research and Innovation in Information Systems (ICRIIS)","volume":"71 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125692726","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, tourism literature does not have a combined list of these constructs for predicting such intentions. Understanding these constructs can provide guidelines for tourism's stakeholders to attract tourists to a specific destination. This review identifies the variables that provoke the intentions of tourists to visit a destination. A systematic literature review methodology has been adopted, focusing on conference papers published during the last six year on tourism research. The study uncovered six essential constructs, namely: Satisfaction, Destination Attractions, Perceived Behavioral Control (PBC), Perceived Risk, Perceived Value, and Experience. A metamodel has been designed revealing the relationship among the aforementioned constructs. Moreover, the findings show that tourist's satisfaction, experience and destination attractions creates positive intentions to visit a destination or recommend it to others.","PeriodicalId":384130,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Research and Innovation in Information Systems (ICRIIS)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126504481","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
