Discussed will be how these components are able to self-adapt inside of this infrastructure and also show potential for more intelligent behaviour. The links allow for some reasoning possibilities, both as a result of the links themselves and through monitoring the links for optimisation. One research area that appears to be particularly related to this package is that of complex adaptive systems (CASs) and associated features will be described. Comparisons will also be made with the existing established technologies in the area of service-oriented architectures (SOAs).","PeriodicalId":383612,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Adaptive and Innovative Systems","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116862500","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nowadays, both complete teleoperation and full autonomy are not efficient enough to deal with all possible situations. To be efficient, the human-robot system must be able to anticipate, react, recover and even learn from errors of different kinds, i.e., to be resilient. Adjustable autonomy is a way to react to unplanned events and to optimise the task allocation between the human operator and the robot. It thus can be seen as a component of the resilience of a system which can be defined as the ability to maintain or recover a stable state when subject to disturbance. In this paper, adjustable autonomy and human-robot cooperation are considered as means to control the resilience. This paper then proposes an approach to design a resilient human-robot system through some defined criteria which aim at assessing the transitions of the modes of autonomy. Perspectives of this approach intend to provide metrics for the adjustment of autonomy in the most resilient way. First results from experiments achieved on a micro-world aim at a preliminary assessment of the different meanings of resilience of the system using the proposed metrics.","PeriodicalId":383612,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Adaptive and Innovative Systems","volume":"308 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127687530","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

More specifically, on the same document image, the combination of three different domains: layout, logo and signature are discussed. This new method analyses every single decision provided by multi-domain system so that, in the training phase, a new sample classified with a dissimilar confidence to the previous trained samples is used to update the system. DTW, Euclidean distance and cosine similarity have been used, respectively for the analysis of layout, logo and signature. Finally, the weighted combination of individual decisions was considered. The experimental results, carried out on 30 rotated forms belonging to 13 different companies, demonstrate the superiority of the proposed approach with respect to single-domain retrieval systems, based on the ANR performance index. The ANR parameter is able to evaluate the multi-domain system.","PeriodicalId":383612,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Adaptive and Innovative Systems","volume":"177 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131817070","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The adaptive algorithms work on the principle of optimising the least square error by achieving wiener solution. The weights of the filter coefficients are changing, as per the changes in the signal. The performance of adaptive filter is measured by mean square error (MSE) and the prediction accuracy is observed by mean absolute error (MAE). The simulation results show that the adaptive algorithms NLMS and RLS have faster convergence rate with less number of iteration but the forecasting accuracy is higher in LMS compared to NLMS and RLS algorithms.","PeriodicalId":383612,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Adaptive and Innovative Systems","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128356382","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
