Supply chains, are increasingly recognized as systems of systems, which are complex networks exhibiting self-organising properties. In large scale real-life networks, self-organisation manifests itself in distinctive structural patterns, such as Power Law connectivity distribution, scale-free, fractal, and nearly decomposable modular structure. Identification of such structural patterns in real-world supply networks may provide useful insights into their dynamics and functionality, and as a result, apply adequate governance frameworks to embrace structural complexity. To this end, the methods for identification of complexity traits in real-world industrial supply networks are of interest. A case study of the mining industry supply network in South Australia has been used to propose a method for identifying self-organisation patterns in regional industrial supply network structures. The approach combines network analysis and recent methods for testing Power Law distributions. Nevertheless, in the operation of CPPS, the integration of tacit knowledge of the human as a maintainer has not been considered yet for the improvement of monitoring and diagnosis processes in production systems. The basic motivation for this publication is the development of a framework for technical maintenance systems in the context of a cyber-physical production environment, which conforms to the reference architectural model of Industry 4.0 (RAMI 4.0). The aim of the proposed solution is a systematic link between the information available by machine data acquisition with the tacit knowledge of humans to attain a high level of transparency in plant operation. The implementation is based on web technologies and platforms that are suitable for the implementation of CPPS and usability-optimized HMI. Every captured and solved deviation creates new knowledge. Not capturing this knowledge, in lean terms, is a waste of created value. A way of capturing this knowledge is to record and manage them via a deviation management information system. The case company uses digital pulse methodology to do this task. But which deviations should be recorded? Or more precisely, which deviations are worth being recorded? The lack of clear answer to these questions, as seen in this case study, can make companies unable to capture the knowledge of minor deviations. In order to solve this problem, this paper answers what deviation is and which deviations should be recorded (i.e., useful deviations), from pulse deviation management methodology point of view. Moreover, adding technology to assist driving can distract the driver. In this work, we present a noninvasive and non-distracting method for monitoring driver emotions and fatigue. To the best of our knowledge, no scientifically agreed definition of emotions exists, as a physical state to be monitored. Emotion recognition is defined as measuring observations of motor system behavior that correspond with high probability to an underlying emotion or combination of emotions. This definition is based on the fact that measuring cognitive influences is currently impossible. In this work we have investigated driving sessions for identifying possible risks at drive in a certain itinerary, analyzing HRV trend. In general, HRV signals can be used as indicators of the responses of the autonomic nervous system (ANS) because the ANS is influenced by the sympathetic nervous system (SNS) and the parasympathetic nervous system (PNS). The first one (SNS) response to an alarm situation: struggle, stress, drowsiness (and other factors) while PNS, when is activated, produces a slowing down of heart rate and breathing therefore PNS is the normal response to a situation of calmness and absence of danger and stress. For the test, we have collected ECG signals (Electrocardiography) and driver position in 15 trips on 2 daily sessions, by 2 different drivers on the same path. Firstly, fault tree model of the conventional temperature control system is established. Secondly, based on the fuzzy mathematics theory, ascending method is applied to solve the minimum cut set of the fault tree. The expression of bottom event occurrence probability is described by normal type fuzzy numbers, and the calculation method of top event fuzzy sets is put forward. Finally, a fault location and screening method based on the fuzzy probability importance is provided. PLC communication faults are calculated and analyzed as an example. However, subjective probability elicitation for a BN is often a daunting and complex task. To create conditional probability values for each given variable in a BN requires a high degree of knowledge and engineering effort, often from a group of domain experts. This paper presents a new hybrid approach for combining an ER algorithm with BNs to enable HRA under incomplete data. The kernel of this approach is to develop the best and the worst possible conditional degrees of belief of the nodes influencing Contextual Control Model Controlling Modes (COCOM-CMs) when using BNs to model human error quantification in CREAM. Through the course, we applied modeling in an incremental product development process. The paper uses examples and reflection on the application of model based systems engineering in the company CorPower Ocean. They are working on a new product development of a wave converter, called Wave Energy Converter (WEC). The framework used through the course is the CAFCR+ model. The teams iterated through the different views of the model several times by the help of time-boxes and flip-overs. Through a 10-week post assignment, the models were elaborated further and we ended up with four A3s; one for the overview of the system, one for the installation operation, one for the maintenance operation and one that illustrates part of the maintenance operation in more detail.
