We argue that stability and, in particular, stable foundations are equally important and are, in fact, a precondition for openness to change. At present, more and more ICT products become commodities in fact, the commoditization can be seen as one key drivers behind the radical and rapid changes in the Web-2.0 world. Future economic growth in the Internet requires collaborative and intelligent services and the opportunity for service providers to compose and integrate widely distributed services into adaptable end-to-end business processes. We describe the end-to-end service utility (E2ESU) initiative that aims to create a thin, well specified, linking infrastructure layer atop the current Internet infrastructure that serves as a sound and firm foundation for the value-added services developed by service providers. The utilities are so to say the ground layer in an ecosystem inhabited by utilities, value-added services, and service-based applications. However, our notion of utilities challenges the often published assertion that all agents in an ecosystem may mutate without any external restrictions. We contend instead that the basic building blocks of a reliable and dependable infrastructure backbone must vary, but within the limits of clear-cut and well-defined specifications.","PeriodicalId":380627,"journal":{"name":"2008 2nd IEEE International Conference on Digital Ecosystems and Technologies","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125693937","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This means that entrepreneurs will be able to position their businesses for economic expansion throughout the power of information communication and technologies (ICTs) based on the ICT sharing without unfair treatment and monopoly. In Thailand, the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are playing important roles for increasing Thai economic growth. The Thai government cooperates with those SMEs who are on the first stage of using electronic commerce systems and technologies for driving their business to global economic. The most important factor is the ICT infrastructure which is invested by both public and private sectors. This paper aims to present the growth of Thailandpsilas electronic commerce from the infrastructure investment perspectives via the SMEs perspectives. This consists of the current situation of Thailandpsilas electronic commerce infrastructure and investments in the infrastructure. The current situations noted are a) the ICTs development policies and plans, b) the pace of electronic commerce infrastructure development based on statistics such as the network readiness and IP network size, and, c) electronic commerce laws and regulations. Finally, a model of Thai open ICT ecosystem engaging with SMEspsila electronic commerce will be proposed.","PeriodicalId":380627,"journal":{"name":"2008 2nd IEEE International Conference on Digital Ecosystems and Technologies","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129826328","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The perceived risk in the context of an e-commerce business interaction is a multidimensional construct which is the combination of its subcategories. In this paper we propose a methodology by which the risk assessing agent can ascertain the numeric and linguistic level of perceived risk in an interaction by combining its different sub-categories.","PeriodicalId":380627,"journal":{"name":"2008 2nd IEEE International Conference on Digital Ecosystems and Technologies","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129912348","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our approach is based on neural networks and interval neutrosophic sets which are used to classify the input patterns into one of the two binary class outputs. The comparison is based on several classical benchmark problems from UCI machine learning repository. We have found that the performance of our approaches are comparable to the existing classifiers. However, our approach has taken into account of the uncertainty in the classification process.","PeriodicalId":380627,"journal":{"name":"2008 2nd IEEE International Conference on Digital Ecosystems and Technologies","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128895914","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed non-interleaving model of interaction-based service composition allows for communication between internal activities of transactions. The formal semantics of the various modes of service composition are represented by standard XML schemas. The current implementation framework uses suitable asynchronous message passing techniques and reflects the design decisions of the proposed model for distributed transactions in digital ecosystems.","PeriodicalId":380627,"journal":{"name":"2008 2nd IEEE International Conference on Digital Ecosystems and Technologies","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115193290","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These systems are key indicators for businesses performance. Businesses that interact with each other for their business needs form a digital business ecosystem (DBE). Members of DBE need to know the trust and reputation value of each other before the start of business interactions. The feedback mechanism is needed so that members of DBE form a unanimous opinion about trustworthiness of any specific member of the community and based their business interactions on this opinion. We present an ontological framework that will combine the feedback from all different trust and reputation information publicly available for a specific member of a domain and gives the knowledge representation on the bases of combined feedback.
