This paper uses the distributed computing concept to optimize the sequential version of the Firefly Algorithm (FA). Results show that the proposed distributed version is more efficient than the regular existing algorithm.","PeriodicalId":379986,"journal":{"name":"2018 XLIV Latin American Computer Conference (CLEI)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130300841","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This software process capability maturity (SPCM) model describes Software Engineering (SE) practices that are applied in the software development by the use of approaches (such as methods, techniques and so on). The Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) community has defined specific approaches (methods, techniques, patterns, and standards) for the conception, design, implementation, and evaluation of interactive systems development. Nevertheless, the literature points out that those approaches are not sufficiently used in industry. Taking advantage of the large use of SPCM models, we have identified HCI approaches that could support SPCM practices related to five processes (Requirements Development, Design and Construction of the Product, Product Integration, Verification and Validation) advocated by the MR-MPS-SW. Analyzing the HCI literature and MR-MPS-SW, we identified a set of HCI approaches for interactive systems development. We interviewed twenty HCI experts to validate and improve this initial set. Thus, we identified 14 HCI categories with examples of methods, techniques, patterns, and standards adequate for performing SE practices of the MR-MPS-SW when developing interactive systems.","PeriodicalId":379986,"journal":{"name":"2018 XLIV Latin American Computer Conference (CLEI)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121347509","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although there are large-scale musical bases, such as Million Song Dataset (MSD), that have lowlevel label signal audio, descendant from audio signal, they are weakly labelled, that is, songs labels may be incomplete at a high level regarding emotion, vocals and instrument. This work aims to present the Music Label Miner (MLM), a hybrid method based on grouping, genetic algorithm and statistical correlation, which generates mappings and ossible inferences of high-level labels based on audio signal, through the relationship of a Large-scale base, MSD, with a lower-dimensional Ground Truth reference base. By applying the proposed method, it will be possible to label songs automatically, which contain only low-level labels and, by the models generated from the method, reach high-level labels. The method is composed by: (i) selection and preprocessing of MSD high and low level data, (ii) reference data set called CAL500exp, (iii) MSD data grouping, (iv) CAL500exp vectorization, (v) relationship of vectorized and grouping datasets, (vi) statistical correlation, (vii) mapping, (viii) visualization of selected data characteristics, (ix) generation of models and (x) inference of high and low-level labels.","PeriodicalId":379986,"journal":{"name":"2018 XLIV Latin American Computer Conference (CLEI)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133588278","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, it becomes necessary to decrease the surface and exposure to cyber attacks by hiding the infrastructure, applications and access controls, as well as increasing security levels. Software Defined Perimeter (SDP) brings new perimeter functionality and Single Packet Authorization (SPA) is the first step. Through the analysis of the SDP protocol there were security issues that need to be improved or addressed. This work proposes adaptations in the SDP architecture and definition of a new pattern of creation and sending of the SPA. It was designed under modular aspects that are incorporated into the model. A secure way to establish mutual TLS for initial user authentication has also been developed. The results demonstrate that building security solutions in modules greatly increases the degree of difficulty in detecting, replicating or reading data. Through the experiments it was demonstrated that the increase of the processing time of the SPA does not compromise the proposed solution and is justified by the gains in the levels of protection. The definition of a new SPA submission architecture and establishment of mutual TLS provided the concealment, scalability and redundancy desired. The proposed solutions thus contribute to increasing the levels of resilience and protection of the SDP reference standard.","PeriodicalId":379986,"journal":{"name":"2018 XLIV Latin American Computer Conference (CLEI)","volume":"14 10","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132835171","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In addition, users are charged according to a contracted configuration and effective reservation time. Thus, it became possible to dynamically provision Virtual Infrastructures (VIs) composed of virtual machines, containers and virtualized network resources. Due to the flexibility in resource provisioning and configuration, VI is being increasingly adopted for hosting data storage services, development platforms and distributed applications. However, when migrating applications to a cloud, users are faced with a significant amount of providers, brokers and services offered. Above all, cloud computing technologies, although innovative, do not ease the migration of virtualized resources between distinct providers, inducing in vendor lock-in. A wide range of cloud providers, APIs, models and management tools further limit the development of VI migration solutions between providers, characterizing an open challenge. This work proposes a mechanism to perform VI migration among providers, based on an architecture agnostic to source and destination providers, as well as VI-hosted applications. In addition, a prototype based on Docker containers and OpenStack clouds was developed both to validate the proposed mechanism and to serve as a reference implementation.","PeriodicalId":379986,"journal":{"name":"2018 XLIV Latin American Computer Conference (CLEI)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129688202","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With this system, it is possible to provide greater security of access to a classroom, avoiding irregularities, such as falsified signatures on the presence sheet, or use of adulterated identities. It applies an image recognition process in which it seeks to extract relevant information from an image, then encode and compare it with other facial data stored in an image database. This information of the images represents a set of characteristics that present the variations between the images of the faces collected by the system and those contained in the image database. The Facial Recognition System is composed of two processing modules: training and recognition. It was applied in a high school classroom to evaluate the usefulness and accuracy of these algorithms for people recognition.","PeriodicalId":379986,"journal":{"name":"2018 XLIV Latin American Computer Conference (CLEI)","volume":"71 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133849771","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

If considered harmful, they must be removed from the source code. Thus, it is important to enable developers to spot the source code artifacts that have been affected by Smells. Problem: however, there is a lack of adequate approaches to make the identification of Code Smells easier while providing details about their occurrences. Goals: in order to help developers to identify Code Smells, we have developed VISMELLS, an interactive visualization. Method: we elicited requirements with the purpose of defining the functionalities of VISMELLS. After implementing the visualization we went through a qualitative analysis of its application with the help of professional software developers and computer science students. Lastly, we used the data obtained from the evaluation to determine if VISMELLS met the targeted requirements. Results: as a result, we were able to confirm that VISMELLS fulfilled its intended purpose as it received good reviews from testers.","PeriodicalId":379986,"journal":{"name":"2018 XLIV Latin American Computer Conference (CLEI)","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130979546","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There is forecast to be a significant increase in the number of resources in the coming years. The adequate selection of resources that best meet the demands of users among a large number of options has been a relevant and current research challenge in the autonomic IoT management. This paper specifies and evaluates the pre-classification of new resources of the EXEHDA middleware based on the non-functional parameters of QoS. Fuzzy logic is used in the treatment of uncertainties in defining the importance weights of QoS attributes. The results obtained in the evaluation of the accuracy of the pre-classification through fuzzy logic and machine learning are presented.","PeriodicalId":379986,"journal":{"name":"2018 XLIV Latin American Computer Conference (CLEI)","volume":"27 4","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132393687","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this context, the use of computerized tests has helped to evaluate the learning of several foreign languages, including the Japanese Language. This work deals with the theme of assessment of lexical knowledge in the Japanese Language, addressing how \"computers\" can automate this activity. As a result of this work, a computerized exam to evaluate the knowledge of the Japanese Language vocabulary is presented, which automates the processes of elaboration, application and correction of tests of lexical knowledge of the language.","PeriodicalId":379986,"journal":{"name":"2018 XLIV Latin American Computer Conference (CLEI)","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114953643","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is defined as a side-effect free language combining model-oriented and functional features. There are works that explore the use of the functional paradigm for the interpretation of OCL such that most of the functional infrastructure could be predefined and automatically generated. In this work we present the MDE-based automatic generation of such functional infrastructure based on Haskell. We also present how the infrastructure is connected with the Eclipse Modeling Framework for final users, allowing the internal complexity to be transparent to them. We provide a different perspective on the interpretation of OCL, together with a sandbox that allows to evaluate in a unified way several proposals that already exist in the scientific community, as well as to collaborate with the migration of functional aspects to the MDE paradigm.","PeriodicalId":379986,"journal":{"name":"2018 XLIV Latin American Computer Conference (CLEI)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123753407","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
