The same way that continuous performance of transformers is necessary to retaining the network reliability, forecasting its costs is also important for manufacturer and industrial companies. Since major amount of transformers costs is related to its raw materials, so having the amount of used raw material in various conditions in transformers has a high importance in costs estimating process. This paper presents a new method to estimate the weight of main material for 63/20kV transformers. The method is based on Multilayer Perceptron Neural Network (MPNN) with sigmoid transfer function. The back-propagation (BP) algorithm is used to adjust the parameters of MPNN. The required training data for MPNN are the obtained information from the transformers made by Iran-Transfo Company during last 4 years.","PeriodicalId":379868,"journal":{"name":"2010 4th International Power Engineering and Optimization Conference (PEOCO)","volume":"74 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-06-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132229278","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Because of probable incidence of water tree phenomena, air cavity and also humidity in electric insulators, increase in electric field happens locally and can lead to breakdown in insulator. The goal of This paper is determining humidity and air cavity effects in cable insulation system on electric field intensity inside cable by using Finite Element Method. Therefore electric field distribution inside water drops and also air cavities existing in polyethylene insulation of one 20KV distribution cable has been simulated and calculated by Maxwell software. Since electric field intensity in cable depends on various factors such as cavity's permittivity and its position respect to cable center, therefore by considering these parameters, FEM simulation has been done and the results were analyzed. Also relation between local field congestion in water drops corners and insulation failure possibility which can lead to insulator complete breakdown, is studied.","PeriodicalId":379868,"journal":{"name":"2010 4th International Power Engineering and Optimization Conference (PEOCO)","volume":"31 3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-06-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132704580","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Many PLF methods have been used to study load flow uncertainties. But the calculation time of these methods are considerable. The proposed method uses only two calculations of the deterministic load flow, to calculate the statistical moments of the load-flow solution. Therefore, the proposed method is faster than other methods. In this study, it is assumed that the probabilistic density function of bus injections, probability of lines outage and probability of unit outages can be estimated or measured. The proposed method has been applied to IEEE 14-bus and IEEE 30-bus test systems. The results indicate that the proposed method reduces the calculation time while maintaining sufficient accuracy.","PeriodicalId":379868,"journal":{"name":"2010 4th International Power Engineering and Optimization Conference (PEOCO)","volume":"104 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-06-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122365273","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed algorithm consists of three levels, quantum individuals, quantum groups and quantum universes. The proposed algorithm is implemented to determine the optimal sizing of distributed generation (DG) for loss minimization at the optimal location. The location of the distributed generation was identified using the sensitivity indices. In order to demonstrate its performance, comparative studies are performed with conventional evolutionary programming in terms of loss minimization and computation time. The installation of single DG and multiple DG also presented and the results shows better improvement in terms of loss minimization and voltage profile.
