These people were divided into two groups. The first was the younger low-income group who would choose shared housing to reduce housing costs , and the second was the group that valued the social environment and safety aspects of housing. The results demonstrated that shared housing had the potential for providing college students with an alternative with respect to housing costs , safety , and social exchange.
