The Sensor and Simulation Note (SSN) series, begun in 1964 at Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory (LASL) and brought to its present state of sophistication and completeness by C.E. Baum at the Air Force Weapons Laboratory (AFWL), has long served as a primary reference for those engaged in EMP analysis and modeling. A generally available reference book on the subject, however, has been long overdue. The book EMP Interaction: PrinciDles. Techniques, and Reference Data, under the editorship of Kelvin S.H. Lee, does much to fill this need. The material was originally conceived as a government report produced in 1979. Largely through the efforts of C.E. Baum, J . P . Castillo, and K.S.H. Lee, the report now has been published in book form available to the general public.","PeriodicalId":377321,"journal":{"name":"IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society Newsletter","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1987-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132492475","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is not a text, but a large collection of problems, of the kind that are at the end of chapters in many e.m. books. Except that the problems that comprise this book are carefully explained, have solutions given, and the solutions are extensively explained (average 1 . 4 pages per problem). Problem difficulty ranges from slight to enormous; many of the problems can be found, but not so well exposited, in such classics as Smythe, Stratton, and even very old timers such as Whittaker and Watson.","PeriodicalId":377321,"journal":{"name":"IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society Newsletter","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1987-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115083903","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
