Hence, the study was aimed to look into recurring issues in the use of WBIR by public polytechnic students in Southwestern Nigeria. Six public polytechnics out of the 16 offering Higher National Diploma (HND) programmemes were selected by stratified random sampling to reflect federal and stage polytechnics. Proportionate to size sampling technique was used to select 1,463 HND students. The instruments used were WBIR use for Academic Tasks (α=0.98), and Challenges of WBIR Use (α=0.84) scales. Data were analysed using proportionate and descriptive statistics. Majority of the respondents 709(51.1%) listed Google as the major search engine used. Others indicated a combination of Google and other search engines like Google, and Bing (71 or 5.1%), Chrome, Google, and Operamini (71 or 5.1%). The study used remittance inflows as measure of Diaspora Remittance and the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) as a measure of sustainable economic development. The study examined the absorptive capacity of the Nigerian financial system to mobilize diapora remittance and transform same into sustainable economic growth and development. Content Analysis (CA) technique was deployed to analyse and examine the data collected from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Statistical Bulletins for various years, Nigerian Bureau of Statistics (NBS) and the World Bank Development Indicators data base from 1987 to 2020. The data are comprised of the values of diaspora remittance, Gross Domestic product (GDP) and Official development Assistance (ODA). The analysis of the data revealed that the Nigerian financial system mobilized millions and billions of US dollars in remittance into the economy for the period which span thirty fours years with diaspora remittance reaching its peak of twenty six billion, eight hundred and ninety one million, nine hundred and eighty thousand two hundred dollars in 2011. Between 2011 and 2020, the Nigerian financial system raked in an average of twenty five billion US dollars in remittance inflows into the economy. The introduction of VAT in Nigeria was necessary as part of the government’s fiscal planning to mobilize revenues and strengthen the Nigerian economy. The VAT system has been in operation for more than two decades, and its implementation had its challenges and successes. This study seeks to explore the efforts made and challenges encountered by the Nigerian government in the successful implementation of the VAT system/ from the period under review. A qualitative research approach was adopted, and data was gathered through a literature review. The findings of this study revealed that while the introduction of the VAT system has resulted in increased revenues for the government, there are still challenges that need to be addressed.These challenges include poor tax compliance, weak compliance infrastructure, capacity building, inadequate administrative infrastructure, inadequate enforcement, lack of efficiency, inadequate usage of technology, politicization of the system, and inadequate public awareness. This study therefore, interrogates the online internet-based broadcast media stations, its platforms, implications and emerged paradigms. The researcher embarked on this study basically to examine the diverse platforms of online internet-based broadcast media stations; to assess the implications of online internet-based broadcast media stations on traditional media industries and the evolving media ecosystem and to explore the emerged paradigms of online internet-based broadcast media stations, including user-generated content and the integration of artificial intelligence. This study is anchored on the uses and gratification theory. Using the survey research design, questionnaire was used to elicit responses from the respondents. Findings show that majority of the respondents (31%) noted that social media platforms is one of the most widely used platforms for online internet-based broadcast media stations. Also, a majority of the respondents (31%) noted that one of the implications of online internet-based broadcast media stations on traditional media industries and the evolving media ecosystem is fragmentation of audience. This study recommends that to address concerns regarding misinformation and disinformation, it is crucial to promote platform transparency and accountability. The study used primary data. The primary data were collected using structured questionnaire. Multistage sampling technique was use to select respondents for the study. A total number of eighty rural women were selected for the study. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean and Likert type rating scale. The result of the study revealed that the mean age of the respondents was 37.7 years, their average income was 27,637.50 Naira. The result revealed that majority (98.8 %) of respondents’ source of health information were radio/television (98.8%), Neighbors and friends (92.5%), drug hawkers (90.0%), family members (77.5%), local chemist shops (75.3%) and Doctors/Nurses (67.5%). The common health challenges in the study area are typhoid fever (40.0%), malaria (43.8%) and (28.8%) miscarriages. Also, the result identified that First aid treatment with a mean score (2.21), Drug/Pharmaceutical care information (2.20) and infant’s health care (2.10) were areas where the respondents highly needs health information. The result also reveals that Illiteracy (2.51) and low level of income (2.08), communication barrier (1.93), poor electricity (1.91) and poor attitude of health personnel (1.91) were some of problems preventing rural women from getting health information. The study concluded that there is information need among rural women in the study area.
