It also focused on the effect of the temperature rise due to the AFH heater on the instability and noise of tunneling magnetoresistance (TMR) sensors. It is firstly reported that the high temperature rise from the AFH heater induces head instabilities. The signatures on the transfer curve indicate that the flipping of a synthetic antiferromagnet (SAF) edge magnetization causes these instabilities. The thermal stress potentially reduces the exchange-bias field and thermal stability of SAF layers and an antiferromagnetic (AFM) layer allowing flipping the SAF edge magnetization.","PeriodicalId":376463,"journal":{"name":"2009 Asia-Pacific Magnetic Recording Conference","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-05-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130877417","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study focused on the space between disks with a fixed shroud. The disk-shroud configuration is especially important in the Servo Track Writer because the flow disturbance by the rotating disks can seriously disrupt accurate electromagnetic data transfer on servo patterning. To improve the reliability and performance of a current Servo Track Writer system while providing a basis for the improved design of future device, it is necessary to advance the understanding the flow pattern by several shrouded disks configuration. The investigation of the flow disturbance by disk shrouded configuration gives advantages and disadvantages for the shroud design.","PeriodicalId":376463,"journal":{"name":"2009 Asia-Pacific Magnetic Recording Conference","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-05-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130394649","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
