The method is characterized by very low numerical dispersion errors. Furthermore, it is explicit by construction and easily parallelizable. It provides a much better alternative for particle based simulations compared to the conventional FDTD method. A conventional narrow BPF with λg/2 open stubs is first designed using series λg/2 open stubs and λg/4 transmission lines. Then, a DB filter can then be easily implemented by replacing the microstrip lines with the CRLH transmission line unit-cells. The DB BPF using the CRLH transmission line unit-cell is experimentally demonstrated at dual operating frequencies of 5.8 GHz and 10.02 GHz. The experimental results are in a good agreement with the simulation results. A delay line using similar periodic structures of right-handed waveguide is also developed for grating lobe suppression of slot array antennas with travelling-wave excitation. The left-handed waveguide is composed of periodic structures as the pair of an inductive iris for shunt inductance and a short stub for series capacitance. The delay line of the right-handed waveguide is composed of a capacitive iris for shunt capacitance and a shorter short stub for series inductance. Dispersion diagram is estimated by Bloch analysis in the design. To fully utilize this unlicensed frequency range, the design of suitable antennas has to account for application-specific demands in terms of frequency bandwidth and antenna gain. We present a successful implementation, based on a compact patch array approach, meeting realistic requirements. The measured S-parameters indicate an impedance bandwidth of 10.5% for the antenna array. The acceleration scheme is first described with reference to the various components of the dyadic and scalar potentials. In this situation, outside radiations are going to pollute the value of the measured RCS and as a consequence their level must be reduced in order to be able to get correct values of RCS. The obtained solution is applied to the accurate analysis of the shielded microstrip line with homogeneous dielectric filling and thick conductor — the structure supporting the transmission of an ideal TEM-wave. Capacitance and characteristic impedance are calculated for different shapes of transmission line profile with an accent on the near rectangular profile modelled by the super-quadric equation.
