Decrit en 1844 (J. turbinata Guss.), il sera longtemps oublie de nombreuses flores et checklists jusqu’a une date tres recente malgre des travaux de morphologie et de phytochimie qui, des les annees 1980, vont confirmer son individualite taxonomique. Les conclusions des etudes moleculaires recentes vont aussi dans ce sens. Le present travail precise sa chorologie, aussi bien dans sa globalite que par pays ou secteurs geographiques, permettant de dresser une carte de repartition mondiale actualisee. Une carte supplementaire illustre la repartition des deux autres taxons du groupe («J. phoenicea » et «J. canariensis » ). Les aspects concernant la caryologie, la biologie de la reproduction et les interactions biologiques sont abordes, de meme que son ecologie, ce qui permet de dresser un tableau recapitulatif des principaux groupements phytosociologiques jusqu’au niveau de l’alliance dans lesquels il s’insere ou intervient. Un focus particulier permet de s’interesser aux menaces et a sa conservation. Enfin, une rapide discussion sur la taxonomie complexe des genevriers rouges permet de justifier le traitement retenu dans ce travail pour les taxons du groupe de J. phoenicea selon trois sous-especes, en validant une nouvelle combinaison nomenclaturale et en proposant une cle de determination des taxons infraspecifiques. Ainsi, Juniperus phoenicea L. subsp. turbinata (Guss.) Pour cela, un diagnostic ecologique a ete etabli. Il a ete base sur une cartographie des habitats neoformes a l’emplacement des anciens sites d’extraction et sur un recensement systematique des especes animales (avifaune, herpetofaune, etc.) et vegetales a forte valeur patrimoniale. L’etude a ete menee sur des carrieres alluvionnaires seches de la plaine de la Crau (sud-est de la France), exploitees dans les annees 1970- 1980 et qui ont detruit l’ecosysteme de pelouses seches mediterraneennes dont la majorite de la surface est actuellement strictement protegee (le reste etant classe en Natura 2000). Apres exploitation, ces dernieres ont fait l’objet d’une grande diversite d’activites restauratives (rehabilitation ecologique, absence de rehabilitation, depots de materiaux anthropogeniques, etc.).Les resultats montrent que les anciennes carrieres abritent des mosaiques d’habitats qui accueillent des groupes faunistiques et des especes floristiques diversifies et forment alors de nombreux refuges pour des especes rares et menacees. Et meme si les corteges floristiques et faunistiques divergent par rapport a l’ecosysteme originel, ils peuvent etre interessants du point de vue de la biodiversite. Enfin, ces resultats lies a la faible reussite des operations de restauration ecologique de nos jours peuvent entrainer un changement de paradigme dans les programmes de restauration vers la libre expression des processus naturels caracteristiques de la restauration spontanee ou passive. EnglishThis study aims to evaluate the ecological potentials of quarries after exploitation and their contribution to regional biodiversity in their eco-landscape context. To do so, an ecological diagnosis was established. It was based on mapping the neoformed habitats on the old extraction sites and on carrying out a systematic inventory of animal species (birdlife, herpeto-fauna, etc.) and plants with high heritage value. The study was done on the dry alluvial quarries of the plain of La Crau (South-eastern of France), exploited in the years 1970-1980 and which destroyed the ecosystem of Mediterranean dry grasslands currently strictly protected. After exploitation, quarries were the subject of a great diversity of ecological restorative activities (ecological rehabilitation, lack of rehabilitation, deposits of anthropogenic materials, etc.). The results show that the old quarries are home to mosaics of habitats that host diverse animal groups and plant species and thus form numerous refuges for rare and endangered species. And even if the plant and animal groups diverge from the reference ecosystem, they can be interesting from the point of view of biodiversity. Finally, these results linked to the poor success of other ecological restoration projects of the same ecosystem can lead to a parad","PeriodicalId":37547,"journal":{"name":"Ecologia Mediterranea","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70185761","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Bibliographical survey since the XIXth century, confronted with 2018 floristic-ecological analyses allows us to highlight the already described syntaxa status and to describe their internal variations. Three new sub-associations have been described at the supramediterranean level, and three others at the montane level. A new plant association is proposed at the mesomediterranean level. The respective place of the Corsican Pine and Beech is discussed as well as conservation issues of the Corsican Pine as an emblematic species for Corsica. francaisDans cette etude phytosociologique et phytoecologique, l’ensemble des formations forestieres a pin laricio de Corse (Pinus nigra J.F. The study area of M’sid-Nefza in North West of Tunisia suffers a continuous degradation problem. This situation results from the combined effects of several historical, socioeconomic, silvicultural and natural factors. A program for integrated participatory approach with different stakeholders (local communities, local forest services, and scientists) to reduce land degradation and to promote forest restoration was implemented. Ten plant species of local provenances were used for this restoration project. In a 7ha plot, more than 1000 seedlings were planted. After two years, the pilot site remains intact, free of any act of vandalism, and grazing. Indicators of ecosystem functioning were measured and are improving.
