For both species lectotypes are designated, for B. fechtneri also an epitype. The authors present macroand microscopic descriptions of these species based on the study of rich material including collections from the area of the type localities. Characters distinguishing both species from similar taxa are discussed.","PeriodicalId":37529,"journal":{"name":"Czech Mycology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43939639","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research was conducted with two datasets. The first dataset is based on 15-year monitoring of 20 oak logs with the aim to relate H. erinaceus preference to selected log variables. The other one comprises records obtained from 63 different localities in Slovakia. The monitoring data confirmed continual fruitbody production on the same dead log and at the same position for three consecutive years. Furthermore, the fruitbodies were observed for five continual years in the same section of a living oak tree trunk. Of the studied log characteristics, H. erinaceus showed preference for smaller log sizes. Based on the second dataset, the main fructification period is dated from August to November, but fruitbodies can be found until February. Logs with fruitbodies were predominantly classified into the initial wood decay stage (Stage 2). The majority (92%) of the localities were situated in areas with a mean annual temperature above 6 °C.","PeriodicalId":37529,"journal":{"name":"Czech Mycology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45519798","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The syntypes contain the same species with short-stalked apothecia possessing whitish, pale yellow to yellow, sparsely warted and apically attenuated hairs corresponding to the genus Albotricha. The species differs from A. albotestacea not only in the colour of the apothecia and frequent presence of whitish subicular hyphae at the base of the stalks, but also in the structure of the ectal excipulum. The thinner ectal excipulum cell walls are considered to be the main character distinguishing the species from A. albotestacea. The species is regarded to be a good member of the genus Albotricha, hence the new combination A. winteri is proposed. A lectotype is designated and a description, line drawing and photographs are presented. The concept of L. winteri introduced by J. Velenovský is also discussed.","PeriodicalId":37529,"journal":{"name":"Czech Mycology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46111739","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Lokalit je 31 a větsinou leži v horských oblastech, kde je maximum nalezů v rozmezi 1200–1299 m n. m. Druh je meně casto nalezan v pahorkatině a podhůři, kde roste buď na mirnějsich svazich kopců nebo na prudkých svazich a dnech zařizlých udoli řek nebo potoků. Větsina nalezů pochazi z montannich a supramontannich smrcin a smisených lesů submontanniho a montanniho stupně, tvořených hlavně bukem, smrkem a jedli. Druh dale roste v podmacených smrcinach a suťových lesich. Větsina lokalit je chraněna jako rezervace nebo prvni zony narodnich parků. Houba preferuje dřevo smrku, dale jedle, buku, a roste take na starých plodnicich troudnatce pasovaneho. Teměř vsechny nalezy jsou na padlých kmenech o průměru 10–100 cm, vzacně na pahýlech nebo kusech dřeva na zemi. Dřevo je ve stadiu tleni 2–5, nejcastěji 3. Recently, it was shown that these two genera are distinct. In this study, four species earlier described in Biatriospora, i.e. B. antibiotica, B. carollii, B. peruviensis and B. yasuniana, which are phylogenetically related to N. mackinnonii, are combined in Nigrograna. Recently, three teams of authors published eight Nigrograna species almost simultaneously (2016–2017), thus some were not compared phylogenetically. A comparison of available sequences showed that all nine accepted species are unique. It can be concluded that Nigrograna is ecologically diverse, comprising species living as endophytes or saprobes of plants (some of them associated with other fungi living on those plants) as well as species living in marine or estuarine environments. Interestingly, all associations with vascular plants concern angiosperms.","PeriodicalId":37529,"journal":{"name":"Czech Mycology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47612738","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Direct isolation, the dilution plate method and various types of isolation media were used. The resulting spectrum of isolated fungi is presented and compared with records about their previous isolation. Compared to former studies focused mainly on bat mycobiota, this paper contributes to a wider knowledge of fungal assemblages colonising various animal bodies in underground environments. The most interesting findings include ascocarps of Acaulium caviariforme found abundant on mammals cadavers, while Botryosporium longibrachiatum isolated from frogs, Chaetocladium jonesiae from bats and Penicillium vulpinum from spiders represent the first records of these species from cadavers or skeletons.","PeriodicalId":37529,"journal":{"name":"Czech Mycology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47074314","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
