The compatibility of this circuit to different wireless standards shows its potential to be implemented for the Internet of Things (IoT). The proposed TAI, based on a gyrator-C topology, achieves coarse frequency tuning due to a 4-bit digitally controlled current source. Implemented in 130 nm CMOS technology, the DCO occupies an area of only $(52 times 48) mumathrm{m}^{2}$. The circuit offers a frequency tuning from 1.65 GHz to 2.5 GHz for a 4-bit digital control word in [1], [15]. The optimal phase noise is about −87 dBc/Hz@1 MHz offset with power consumption varying from 2.6 mW to 5 mW at a supply voltage of 1.1 V when changing the control word digitally from 1 to 15.","PeriodicalId":373813,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE 19th Mediterranean Microwave Symposium (MMS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129676844","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the transmission of the image can be attenuated by different factors mainly involved by the wireless communication multimedia systems. In the past decades, various source and channel coding schemes have been developed separately. In this paper, we investigate a joint source-channel coding scheme to improve the image transmission performance. Our main target is to reach a good tradeoff in terms of rate-distortion for Set Partitioning in Hierarchical Trees (SPIHT) image transmission. For the wireless communication part, we consider the Audio Visual PHY Ultra Wide Band IEEE 802.15.3c system. The proposed strategies rely on adaptive process applied for error protection and the modulation operations. Thus, error correcting codes for unequal error protection (UEP) of the compressed bit streams is included. Then, Hierarchical Modulation (HM) is applied to the different bits according to their importance levels. Full of simulations are performed and our results show image quality improvements at the receiver using multilevel UEP and Hierarchical Modulation compared to the ordinary joint source-channel coding system without introducing any extra bandwidth usage.","PeriodicalId":373813,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE 19th Mediterranean Microwave Symposium (MMS)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122828488","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Exploiting the property of the low-rank of the MS data, the LatLRD is first performed on the up-sampled MS image and the PAN image to reconstruct a composite image in order to preserve the spectral fidelity of MS images, while transferring spatial structures. Second, a multi-scale procedure is applied to the generated composite image from the LatLRD decomposition for extracting the spatial information. Finally, the details are injected to the up-sampled MS bands to obtain the corresponding MS image at fine resolution. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed approach performs better than several state-of-the-art methods in enhancing the spatial quality and preserving the spectral fidelity.","PeriodicalId":373813,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE 19th Mediterranean Microwave Symposium (MMS)","volume":"17 10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131773739","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, the main issue is how to optimize the energy consumption to maintain the sensor nodes alive as long as possible. In this paper, we propose a new algorithm that divides the network area to zones and uses the fuzzy logic method to select Cluster Heads (CHs). To this aim, we have taken into account a set of parameters related to the node for selecting CHs. These parameters are used as inputs to the Fuzzy Inference System.
