However, wrinkles or oscillations are often found on the front of the waveforms. The authors promoted a hypothesis that these oscillations are possibly caused by the resistor in the damped capacitive voltage divider which often serves as the load for impulse voltage generation. By computer simulations and experiments, the authors proved this hypothesis.","PeriodicalId":373216,"journal":{"name":"2020 Conference on Precision Electromagnetic Measurements (CPEM)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133206534","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The results compare the smart meter measurements of voltage and current waveforms of a fundamental 60 Hz frequency with energy usage that contains current signals with narrow spikes. The Fourier component analysis of the current spikes requires high harmonic frequency analysis. A separate, precision power analyzer was calibrated as the reference. The worst-case error of about 3% was measured for three similar model meters out of twelve meters, where the uncertainty was about 0.1%.","PeriodicalId":373216,"journal":{"name":"2020 Conference on Precision Electromagnetic Measurements (CPEM)","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134341887","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This comparison aims to demonstrate the precision measurement capabilities and validate the equivalence of new replacements of Type-N microcalorimeters (for aged ones) at the participating laboratories. A commercial coaxial reference standard, thermistor mount, is used as the traveling standard, for the measurements from 10 MHz to 18 GHz. Generally, good agreements have been observed among the measurement results.","PeriodicalId":373216,"journal":{"name":"2020 Conference on Precision Electromagnetic Measurements (CPEM)","volume":"61 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133758165","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The maximum inductance achievable is 10 H, while modern LCR meters offer measurement ranges up to more than 10 kH. Due to their winding capacitance and wire resistance, toroidal inductors exhibit quite large parasitic elements that restrict the operating frequency due to resonances. Using a gyrator in conjunction with a capacitance standard creates a synthesized inductance which can exhibit values up to hundred of kilohenrys. Optimizing the gyrator's parameters leads to much lower parasitics and thus an extended usable frequency range even for inductances available as toroidal inductors. Furthermore, the physical size of a gyrator circuit is much smaller than that of a toroid, which simplifies thermoregulation and transportation.","PeriodicalId":373216,"journal":{"name":"2020 Conference on Precision Electromagnetic Measurements (CPEM)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114516381","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We focused on the influence of crystal orientations of the core sphere on the thickness determination by XPS. The changes in the intensity of Si core sphere ($I_{text{Si}}$) along the main crystallographic directions were firstly studied. The $I_{text{Si}}$ is enhanced along the main crystallographic directions and the enhanced intensity is expected to result in large variations in the thickness values. By avoiding the line of longitude of crystallographic planes with low plane indices, the variation in $I_{text{Si}}$ was reduced largely and the uncertainty due to the variation in $I_{text{Si}}$ was decreased.","PeriodicalId":373216,"journal":{"name":"2020 Conference on Precision Electromagnetic Measurements (CPEM)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114990063","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
