The authentication mechanism is cryptography technique to protect unauthorized access of a network system. Recently, more efficient ID-based and password authentication schemes are proposed by, H.T. Liaw, Wang and Xu R. Song, however, Liaw's and Wang's scheme are vulnerable to offline password attack and server masquerade attack parallel session attack. Xu's scheme is vulnerable to an impersonation attack and R. Song's Scheme is vulnerable to insider attack, lack of perfect forward security for session keys and denial-of-service attack. In 2010 S.K. Sood proposed an improvement of Liao et al's scheme. However, this scheme did not provided mutual authentication and maintaining database for verification of the legitimate user. In this paper, we analyze few attacks and finally propose an Efficient Smart card based Remote User Authentication Scheme. The proposed scheme resists most of the current possible attack and provides the essential security requirements.","PeriodicalId":372799,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE Students' Conference on Electrical, Electronics and Computer Science","volume":"85 3","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120924468","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It presents a location identification of power system stabilizer based on a participation factor method. The analysis of the load effect on eigen values confirms that the calculation of best location of PSS by participation factor method is more effective in enhancing the small-signal stability of the system. The Recursive Least Square (RLS) algorithm based PID controller is used to tune the parameters of the PSS to achieve quicker settling time for the system parameters such as load angle and speed deviation. The proposed method is applied to the identification location and tuning of PSS in a model of the Indian practical utility system, possessing sixty two buses and 19 machines.","PeriodicalId":372799,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE Students' Conference on Electrical, Electronics and Computer Science","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122753081","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Unfortunately, PID controllers are not robust and their performance deteriorate when the operating conditions change due to the effect of external disturbances, load changes and parameter variations of the motor. A Robust PID controller which is optimized by Genetic algorithm and on-line tuned by Neural Network is proposed in this paper for position control of BLDC drive system. To optimize the controller performance due to changes in inertia and friction under dynamic load variation, estimation of inertia and friction at different load levels is done. The effectiveness of the controller is tested for set-point tracking and random changes in load torque. The results are compared with conventional tuning methods.","PeriodicalId":372799,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE Students' Conference on Electrical, Electronics and Computer Science","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122999112","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The principal approach in data compression is the reduction of the amount of image data (bits) while preserving information (image details), so that the image can be stored or transferred more efficiently. Multiplexing uses the available channel capacity effectively. The discrete cosine transform (DCT) converts a signal into elementary frequency components. The proposed work explores the computational analysis of a hybrid SVD-DCT technique for image multiplexing using variable quantization levels and variable ranks. This paper primarily focuses on the significance of image multiplexing by incorporating compression with different quantization matrices and variable ranks. The efficiency of such a system is measured using Compression Ratio (CR), Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) and image quality analysis visually. This technology is a key enabling factor in many imaging and multimedia concepts, where multiplexing and compression of image data is required.","PeriodicalId":372799,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE Students' Conference on Electrical, Electronics and Computer Science","volume":"56 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129458219","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are number of intrusion detection and prevention methods to deal with different types of attacks. This paper presents an intrusion-preventive alternate path routing scheme in the field of sensor area networks. Our alternate path scheme provides a security oriented approach for designing the routing protocol of wireless sensor networks. It proposes the new cluster based security architecture which starts from the initialization of the network. In this paper, we propose a security algorithm to improve routing security in wireless sensor network. The algorithm uses alternative routing paths for each data transmission call to overcome the sensor network attack. To enhance network reliability, the algorithm allows sensory data to be sent on defined routing paths using various transmission modes.","PeriodicalId":372799,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE Students' Conference on Electrical, Electronics and Computer Science","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126703593","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Respiratory variations are present in the electrocardiogram (ECG) and the photoplethysmogram (PPG). The aim of this study was to investigate these variations in healthy subjects during rest and invoked blood pressure changes. The primary goal was to develop a non-invasive respiration monitor. Significantly higher error rates were found in hypotension and hypertension. Airflow monitoring is an effective way to diagnosis sleep disorder that are caused by complete or partial cessation of breathing during sleep. For monitoring airflow, tempearature of thermistor and resistance of thermistor changes because of airflow. Designed sensor using glass type and bead type thermistor of 1k, which is use for measurement of respiration rate. By compairing these two thermistor LM35 used as sensor.
