The PD was initiated through a needle-plane electrodes configuration. The electrical PD was measured through Impedance Matching Circuit (IMC) whereby the AE PD signal was measured using AE sensor placed on the surface of the test tank. The time of arrival (TOA) was computed based on the electrical and AE PD signals. It is found that the PD count and maximum amplitude for RBDPO are lower than mineral oil. Pan","doi":"10.1109/APL57308.2023.10182094","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/APL57308.2023.10182094","url":null,"abstract":"In order to disclose the effect of soil on the corrosion of earthing metal materials in power grid in Shaanxi Province, 152 stations with related soil environment are selected, and the corrosion data of four earthing metal materials including carbon steel, hot-dip galvanized steel, copper and copper-clad steel in different substations and external environments are measured. Then the average corrosion rate of four kinds of earthing metal materials in Shaanxi is calculated by weighing experiment. Based on geographic data information system (GIS), the environmental soil corrosion rate map of metal materials is drawn, and the average corrosion rate of earthing metal materials in substations of different cities in Shaanxi Province is compared and analyzed. Simultaneously, the main factors affecting the corrosion of metal materials are analyzed combining with soil properties parameters. The results show that the average annual soil corrosion rate of eastern region is higher than that of western area in Shaanxi Province after the earthing metal material buried one year. The average corrosion rate of copper and hot dip galvanized steel is slower than that of carbon steel. Comparatively, the corrosion rate in the substation is higher than that outside the station, and soil moisture, pH and chloride content have obvious effects on the corrosion rate. We investigated the mechanism of overvoltage generation at distribution boards and analyzed the flow of lightning currents through the earth lines in the system using electromagnetic analysis. The over voltages were found to be smaller when the power substation was installed at the top floor than that on the first floor. On the basis of the modified and improved calculation method, this paper calculates the results of shielding tripping rate under the condition of parallel erection of two double-circuit lines under different terrains and analyzes its changing law. In order to show this rule more intuitively, this paper proposes the concept of shielding coefficient, which characterizes the shielding effect of adjacent lines on the shielding tripping rate of this line. Further comparative analysis can obtain the lightning protection effect of different installation modes of different protection devices. Design of suitable protection schemes requires prior knowledge of the current and field levels during a lightning strike. For assessing these quantities and for the validation of the design, lightning current injection tests are specified. Current tests are performed with components A to D which are specified in standards. Most of the tests are practical only at the component levels. For subjecting the whole aircraft to lightning tests, standards suggest a return conductor (RC) arrangement. The return conductor arrangement permits injection of current with magnitude and rise time specified in standards. However, in a natural environment, there is no such return path for current. Therefore, the lightning electromagnetic environment experienced by an aircraft during an actual lightning strike could be different from that simulated by laboratory tests. The present work aims to investigate this considering Standard Dynamics Model (SDM) aircraft. The impedance network method is employed for determining the current and voltage distribution for the current component A. It is shown that in the real environment, the voltage drop across the aircraft is much higher than that in a laboratory test. It possesses important strategic value for the power transmission of large power grids across regions. In view of the urgent lightning protection needs of the “Jiquan” Line, this paper completed the parameter design and prototype development of the first ±1100 kV UHV DC transmission line arrester in the world by means of theoretical calculation and simulation analysis. Through a full set of type tests, the excellent performance of the arrester has been verified. Based on the structural stress analysis of typical towers in the “Jiquan” Line, this paper completes the design of the installation scheme of the arrester, and proposes a supported bracket reinforced by the suspension composite insulator. This on-site installation method meets the long-term safe and stable operation requirements. Finally, this paper realized the trial operation of ±1100kV UHV DC transmission line arrester. The results showed that the density of lightning strikes was high along the coast of the Japan Sea from the western Noto Peninsula to the Echizen Coast and near Tsuruga, while the density was low in Wakasa Bay. Thus, we investigated typical cases in which lightning strikes were lower in Wakasa Bay than in the surrounding areas, especially around Mikuni area. The results showed that when thunderclouds approached Mikuni area, they tended to develop and form a stronger precipitation area than the surrounding, and the frequency of lightning strikes also increased. This suggests that the topography of the Mikuni area contributes to enhanced precipitation and lightning in this region. On the other hand, in the Wakasa Bay area, surface winds blowing into the Wakasa Bay from the surrounding land were frequently observed. Near Tsuruga on the east side of Wakasa Bay, the topography of the area makes the area near the ground a convergence field, and precipitation and lightning strikes are relatively strong. In contrast, the central to western part of Wakasa Bay tends to be a divergence field, which may contribute to the suppression of convection in this area. Also, in the case of a lightning event, an uninterrupted and safe power supply is expected. The steadily increasing number of electronic devices and their growing sensitivity against overvoltages require surge protective devices (SPDs), which are able to guarantee the equipotentialisation in case of a lightning event as wel as an overvoltage protection in the case of switching operations. The low protection level may cause a huge number of possible operations of the SPD. The components used in modern SPDs stand out for their high capacity and simultaneously good protective properties.
