The main purpose of QoS1 routing is to find a feasible path that has sufficient resources to satisfy the constraints. In this paper a novel QoS routing algorithm based on ant colony optimization is proposed. The proposed algorithm uses Ant-like agents to discover and maintain paths, that satisfy more requirements of the incoming traffic and at the same time by control energy level of nodes, increase lifetime of network as much as possible. Simulation results show that our algorithm can obviously improve packet delivery ratio, lifetime of network and reduce end-to-end delay.","PeriodicalId":371189,"journal":{"name":"2009 First International Conference on Ubiquitous and Future Networks","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-06-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115352416","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

But, the xDSL line that can be used for the backhauling of femtocell traffic cannot always provide sufficient bandwidth due to the inequality between the xDSL capacity and demanded bandwidth of home applications, like IPTV, PC, Wi-Fi, and others. A Service Level Agreement (SLA) between xDSL and the femtocell operator (mobile operator) to reserve some bandwidth for the upcoming femtocell calls can increase the satisfaction level for femtocell users. In this paper, we propose a SLA negotiation procedure for femtocell networks. The Bandwidth Broker controls the allocated bandwidth for femtocell users. Then, we propose the dynamically reserved bandwidth scheme to increase the femtocell user's satisfaction level. Finally, we present our simulation results to validate the proposed scheme.","PeriodicalId":371189,"journal":{"name":"2009 First International Conference on Ubiquitous and Future Networks","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-06-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114543141","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, the energy resource of the sensor nodes should be managed efficiently to prolong network lifetime. A single sink node topology is simple to implement and most of the researches assume a single sink node, but, as the number of sensor node increases, it has disadvantages to cope with some problems. For example, unexpected situations such as node failure or irregular power consumption in bottleneck can cause network partitions and energy-hole problems. In this paper, we assume a multiple-sink network, and propose a topology configuration scheme that automatically reconfigure in case of node failures. The performance of the proposed tree configuration scheme is evaluated by simulations.","PeriodicalId":371189,"journal":{"name":"2009 First International Conference on Ubiquitous and Future Networks","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-06-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122388740","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The physical layer of the proposed system consists of multi-band OFDM, convolutional encoding, Viterbi decoding, and interleaver. p-persistent CSMA/CD is adopted as the MAC layer protocol. A PLC channel model proposed by OPERA (Open PLC European Research Alliance) is considered. Taking account of the characteristics of the powerline noises, an efficient noise detection scheme is applied to dynamically choose among multiple OFDM bands. System performance is evaluated by extensive simulations and the results show that the proposed system can reach a low BER and high system throughput.","PeriodicalId":371189,"journal":{"name":"2009 First International Conference on Ubiquitous and Future Networks","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-06-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122694002","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Unlike others, the secret d-key is generated using the previous data as the seed and as next packet encryption; therefore, only valid sender and receiver are able to decrypt the cipher text using the unique d-key in their possession, which prevents sensitive data from being access by unauthorized recipients. In addition, test results indicate d-key protocol can perform as efficiently as a non-security routing protocol while providing stronger data privacy with low computational overhead in data encryption and decryption.","PeriodicalId":371189,"journal":{"name":"2009 First International Conference on Ubiquitous and Future Networks","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-06-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132277717","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
