The heterogeneity will enable users to continuously connect to the technology that best meets the users' application requirements. It will also allow WNOs to change the associations of users to attain certain operational objectives. Despite the possible employment of cost reduction mechanisms based on long term observations, we argue that the user-centric nature of HWNs and the possible permutations of triggers for vertical handoffs (VHs) may effectively render user assignment beyond the WNO's control. In this paper, investigate the potential of a module dedicated to reduce the cost of service delivery. With both quantized channel direction and unquantized channel magnitude fed back from all users, this system becomes interference limited with large number of users due to the quantized error of channel direction. We provide a novel method that only partial users feed back the channel information, which can reduce the quantized error of channel direction without increasing the feedback bits of each user. This scheme achieves a higher throughput than that of the system with quantized channel direction and unquantized channel magnitude from all users. Meanwhile, feedback overhead is decreased significantly because of only partial user feedback. The frame structure design is even more complicated in the new mobile multi-hop relay-based (MMR) network architecture, as numerous dimensions of design constraints and challenges have been introduced therein. In this paper, we propose a simple yet flexible framework based upon the current 802.16e OFDMA frame structure design, which enables multihop operation while still maintaining the backward compatibility with the legacy mobile stations. Specifically, the CR technology will allow a group of potential users (referred to as secondary users) to access available spectrum resources unused by primary users (PUs) for whom the band has been licensed. The spectrum available for secondary users (SUs) depends on PUs' activity in the licensed spectrum. In this paper, we develop a queuing analytic framework to study important performance measures experienced by SUs in a CR network. We study queuing delay and buffer statistics of SUs' packets by modeling PUs' activity as a two state Markov chain and SUs' channel quality variation as a finite state Markov chain (FSMC). In order to allocate available channels among the SUs, an opportunistic channel allocation scheme is considered. This paper presents three kinds of adaptive HARQ schemes in MIMO-TDD system using SVD for different system complexity and quality of service (QoS) requirements. The first scheme makes full use of the freedom of antennas permutation and the process is very simple. This paper illustrates use of precoding and successive decoding to support concurrent mutually interfering transmissions at both the multiaccess and network protocol layers to yield significant throughput benefits over a range of received interfering transmission powers. However, given that ad-hoc and sensor networks are deployed and left unattended for long periods of time, it is crucial to design secure routing protocols for these networks. Over the past few years, attacks on the routing protocols have been studied and a number of secure routing protocols have been designed for wireless sensor networks. However, there has not been a comprehensive study of how these protocols compare in terms of achieving security goals and maintaining high throughput. In this paper, we focus on the problem of analyzing the inherent security of routing protocols with respect to two categories: multi-path and single-path routing. Within each category, we focus on deterministic vs. probabilistic mechanisms for setting up the routes. We consider the scenario in which an adversary has subverted a subset of the nodes, and as a result, the paths going through these nodes are compromised. In this paper, we develop a new MAC protocol for enabling packet transmissions using cooperative MIMO. The paper also develops analytical models for evaluating the packet error probability, energy consumption and packet delays associated with the proposed MAC protocol. The analysis is validated against simulation results using the NS- 2 simulator. Our focus is on the non-linear predictor-based DBA (NLPDBA), which outperforms other existing schemes with higher bandwidth utilization and shorter packet delay. We establish a system model to evaluate the controllability of NLPDBA. Analytical results show that NLPDBA maintains the EPON system controllability even when the loaded network traffic changes drastically.
