Sandwich structures composed of viscoelastic adhesive films and metallic constraining layers result in thin composite structures with improved dynamic capabilities. Due to the viscoelastic core, the damping capacity of the sandwich is considerably increased compared to metallic panels. In this work, a numeric model of a lift using viscoelastic sandwiches is presented, in order to evaluate the influence of the core thickness on the dynamic response of a lift. In this work, platelet rich plasma (PRP) coated polycaprolactone (PCL) wound dressings have been designed by means of electrospinning. PCL is a biocompatible and biodegradable synthetic polymer. PRP, in turn, offers growth factors to the dressing, which are significant in the healing. To enable an effective addition of PRP, functionalization of PCL fibre meshes has been carried out by immersing them in alkaline dissolution of different concentrations. In this context, transport applications powered by electric storage systems emerge as a very convenient solution. Tramways are a clear example of high efficient transport applications powered by energy storage systems. Nevertheless, in order to achieve a higher reliability in the market, it is important to properly foresee the ageing effect that the existing storage systems suffer. This paper presents an ageing model to estimate the lifetime of supercapacitors, which are widely used in the mentioned transport applications. The model is developed and validated based on experimental tests developed in real application conditions. The initial design of an energy management strategy is a significant point, in order to fulfil the efficiency goals. The proposed energy management strategy is a fuzzy logic control algorithm, which membership functions and output are tuned by dynamic programming optimisation. The sensitivity study has been based on analysing the operation costs within the battery lifetime. This strategy has been implemented in a series hybrid electric bus. The vehicle auxiliary power and passengers have been identified as sensitive variables. Two main conclusions have been obtained from the analysis. Firstly, the strategy is more sensitive with respect to auxiliaries demanded power. Secondly, due to the fact that the conditions used for the initial design vary within the battery lifetime, a strategy updating need is observed.","PeriodicalId":369434,"journal":{"name":"III. One way to manage these requirements is having the software component’s behaviour model available at runtime (models@run.time). In this paper, we present a model-driven approach to generate software components which are able both to provide their internal information in model terms at runtime and adapt their behaviour automatically when an error or an unexpected situation is detected. Thanks to this introspection ability at runtime, the software components are able to adapt automatically from their normal-mode behaviour to a safe-mode behaviour which was defined to be used in erroneous or unexpected situations at runtime.","PeriodicalId":369434,"journal":{"name":"III.
