Villalobos","doi":"10.4067/s0718-50732021000200251","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.4067/s0718-50732021000200251","url":null,"abstract":"Debido a su rapida y economica ejecucion, la solucion geotecnica conocida como muros de soil nailing se utiliza ampliamente para la estabilizacion de taludes y excavaciones del terreno. En la etapa de diseno, la verificacion de la estabilidad externa del muro de soil nailing es uno de los criterios de aceptabilidad mas importantes. El principal objetivo de este trabajo es evaluar la estabilidad externa de muros de soil nailing, considerando la influencia de la variabilidad de su altura y los parametros geomecanicos del suelo in-situ. La metodologia probabilistica de diseno factorial 2k ha sido aplicada para generar 32 experimentos. Un muro de soil nailing vertical, con altura variable, bajo condiciones de carga pseudo-estatica, y ejecutado en suelo residual de roca granitica ha sido utilizado como modelo prototipo. Basandose en el analisis de las observaciones de los 32 experimentos, se han desarrollado tres modelos de regresion, los que pueden ser usados para predecir el valor de los factores de seguridad con realizaciones arbitrarias. In Bogota city, the roofs at popular neighborhood represent a potential area for their implementation. This present research discusses how the weight of a green roof impacts a self-construction dwelling unit from a structural capacity demand point of view. Green roof weight is a random variable whose normality was investigated through the Shapiro-Wilk goodness of fit. The magnification factors for this dead-like load come from the Nowak-Collins method using the confidence intervals on the mean weight value. The ATC-40 pushover methodology helped in finding the non-linear behavior of a controlled but similar structure as those found in the popular neighborhoods of Bogota city. According to this methodology, damage caused on these structures due to seismic demand increases by the green roof incorporation. Jaramillo","doi":"10.4067/s0718-50732021000200222","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.4067/s0718-50732021000200222","url":null,"abstract":"El asfalto ecuatoriano tiene la particularidad de ser proclive al envejecimiento prematuro incidiendo en que los pavimentos asfalticos presenten una insuficiente durabilidad. El objetivo de este trabajo experimental es valorar el efecto que produce en las propiedades del asfalto AC 20, procedente de la Refineria de Esmeraldas, su modificacion con el agente rejuvenecedor Sylvaroad RP-1000; asi como evaluar su incidencia en la calidad de una mezcla asfaltica tipica, sin material fresado, preparada con asfalto sin modificar y modificado con rejuvenecedor. El asfalto utilizado clasifica como PG 64-22 y al ser mezclado con 2.5% en peso del rejuvenecedor, su grado cambio a PG 58-28. Se realizaron estudios adicionales empleando los parametros ΔTc, Glover-Rowe y las temperaturas de transicion, evidenciandose mejoras en los resultados. Luego se diseno una mezcla densa con 5.5% de asfalto; a las briquetas confeccionadas se le aplicaron pruebas de modulo de rigidez, compresion ciclica y fatiga con el equipo NAT. Al emplear asfalto modificado el comportamiento a la fatiga mejoro notablemente. Thus, the objective of this research was to develop a current pavement condition index that took into account the factors that lead to deterioration. The index included an assessment of riding comfort, existing distresses, longitudinal slope, drainage aspects and bus traffic volume. The criteria and performance levels were weighed by means of a method known as Measuring Attractiveness by a Categorical Based Evaluation Technique. To be tested and validated, the index developed was applied to 13 Sample Units, and a correlation analysis based on the Fixed-Value Matrix method was performed. In said analysis, a correlation of 0.12 was obtained when all units were considered, and 0.48 when the units with high traffic volume were removed. Por ello, se realizo una evaluacion sismica no lineal dinamica de seis edificaciones: dos de 5, dos de 12 y dos de 20 pisos de altura y con una planta regular. El sistema estructural de los edificios fue disenado de acuerdo a la NSR-10 (norma sismo resistente colombiana) y con la microzonificacion sismica de Bogota. \u0000Los seis edificios fueron analizados utilizando metodologias no lineales y sometidos a los movimientos sismicos de dos terremotos: el terremoto de Quetame de 2008 y el terremoto de Mesa de los Santos de 2015, ambos registrados en Bogota DC por el RAB (red de acelerometros de Bogota). Utilizando el modulo no lineal de un software de elementos finitos y siguiendo las pautas de FEMA 356, se evaluo la respuesta de los edificios a 81 senales sismicas del terremoto de Mesa de los Santos y 78 del terremoto de Quetame. Las senales incluian tres movimientos de tierra perpendiculares correspondientes a las direcciones norte-sur, este-oeste y vertical. Con los resultados del analisis dinamico no lineal, se evaluaron las rotulas plasticas no lineales de los elementos estructurales de las edificaciones para los dos sismos analizados. Con base en los resultados, se construyeron mapas para mostrar las derivas (distorsiones de entrepiso) en la direccion Y, las derivas en la direccion X y las derivas totales. Como respuesta a este tema se considera el Diseno Resiliente. El objetivo del articulo es evaluar las caracteristicas de diseno resiliente que responden a la necesidad de confort termico en la vivienda social en atencion al efecto del cambio climatico. Esto se realizo a traves de una fase teorica y una empirica en dos ciudades suramericanas con caracteristicas climaticas opuestas: Passo Fundo en Brasil y Tunja en Colombia. Como resultado se encontro que el BTC es una opcion viable solo para climas con condiciones particulares debido a sus propiedades tanto termicas como ambientales segun estrategias de ganancia directa de calor que tienden a ser resilientes y se ajustan mejor a un diseno bioclimatico en las ciudades. Nanosilica has pozzolanic properties that, upon contact with water, reacts with hydrated cement to form more particles of C-S-H (gel), which reduces porosity by partially filling the pores to refine the structure and therefore gives us greater compressive strength. The recommendation of this study is to implement low-cost, low-rise housing construction. The microstructure properties of the cement paste are improved with the addition of Nanosilica. Nanoparticles have high specific surface areas, and their surfaces are very active; an intense pozzolanic reaction between Nanosilica and CH, would accelerate the pozzolanic reactions between SIO 2 and water molecules. Therefore, the smaller the pore volume, the higher the compressive strength and water absorption capacity of Nanosilica-modified pastes results. The volume of the pores was reduced along with the increase of the Nanosilica dose. Villena","doi":"10.4067/S0718-50732020000300322","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.4067/S0718-50732020000300322","url":null,"abstract":"This article shows the results of a study on the evaluation of the use of the TDI (Traffic Densification Index) for the prediction of the behavior of a conventional asphalt mixture and two nano-modified asphalt mixtures (one with 2% of carbon nanotubes, CNTs, and another with 3% of organophilic nanoclay, NA) against permanent deformation. The mixtures were designed with equivalent granulometries and different asphalt binders (a conventional and two nano-modified binders). The design of the mixtures was made according to the Superpave method, and the TDI of the mixture was determined from the curves obtained in the compaction test (%Gmm vs number of cycles). For each mixture under study, two slabs measuring 50 x 18 x 5 cm were compacted on the BBPAC slabs compactor of IFSTTAR (Institut Francais des Sciences et Technologies des Transports, de L'Amenagement et des Reseaux). These slabs were subsequently subjected to the permanent deformation test in the French traffic simulator, Orniereur. The TDI obtained was compared with the performance of the mixtures in the permanent deformation test. Purpose: The purpose of this article is to study the principles of improving energy efficiency and environmental friendliness of multifunctional complexes in Ukraine and thereby enrich the national experience in designing sustainable architecture. Results: On the basis of the study, scientific principles and recommendations are developed that contribute to improving the energy efficiency and environmental friendliness of such complexes.
