The SRM was optimized on the base a new optimization procedure, where input parameters were based on requirements for this vehicle e.g. maximum torque, acceleration and power at different speeds. The optimized motor was constructed and the static nonlinear and dynamic performances and parameters were measured and compared with the calculated ones.","PeriodicalId":369251,"journal":{"name":"2016 ELEKTRO","volume":"92 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123434585","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Recently the most common insulation system in power transformers is paper-oil system. Oil generally mean petroleum based insulating fluid. As there are efforts to preserve sustainable development, crude oil products should be eliminated and replaced by natural products, which are easily biodegradable. In past it was shown that natural esters may reach qualities of mineral oils in some parameters (from electrical parameters it is typically electric strength), while they remain worse in others (typically dissipation factor). Although there are some difficulties, by proper design they should be eliminated. The paper concentrates on specific aspects of designing insulation elements by preserving the same lifetime as in case of mineral oils.","PeriodicalId":369251,"journal":{"name":"2016 ELEKTRO","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121269924","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main goal of this paper is to describe and simulate effects of dispersion and nonlinear phenomena on ultra-short optical pulses propagating through optical fibers. The paper shows that the effect of dispersion causes a frequency shift which can be compensated by self-phase modulation. On the other hand our results prove that effects caused by high-order nonlinearities can be compensated as a result of the third order dispersion which is demonstrated in case of forming the solitary waves.","PeriodicalId":369251,"journal":{"name":"2016 ELEKTRO","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126491020","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Transmission line constraints can result in variations in energy prices throughout the network. These prices depend on generator bids, load levels, and transmission network limitations. A congestion charge is incurred when the system is constrained by physical limits. Locational marginal pricing (LMP) has become a popular method in restructured power markets to address the congestion price. This paper presents, LMP calculations at each bus when system working under normal and congested condition, and the congested system has been relieved by optimal placement of TCSC and DG unit. The optimal placement of TCSC and DG unit are suggested by real power flow and transmission line relief (TLR) sensitivity indexes. Optimal power flow based congestion management (OPF based CM) problem is employed to minimize the cost, calculate LMP's and relieve network congestion in the systems. Were the OPF based CM problem solutions have been obtained by Primal Linear Programming (PLP) and Genetic Algorithm (GA), the developed models have been applied for 26 bus power system network. The comparison is made between PLP and GA OPF CM problem solutions, where the solution by the GA method gave better economic results.","PeriodicalId":369251,"journal":{"name":"2016 ELEKTRO","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121760474","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Students entering UAS's are very heterogeneous what comes to their scientific and mathematical skills. The key to enhance learning outcomes is reported to be the active engagement of the students. In Tampere UAS, a method to study engineering physics has been improved based on good practices from literature. The idea of the method is to push routine-like elements in online environment, mainly with video-clips distributed via YouTube, and to use the valuable lecturing time to activate the students to study. The similar idea is also used in online courses. In this way the routine-like parts of teaching is always available to help the students. Assessment was also changed. The research done in parallel with implementation of the new method suggest that students' activity is closely connected to the periods of assessment. By spreading the assessment throughout the course, students' activity increases and spreads more evenly on the whole course. Small scale research done with individual students' activity shows that the students who fail to pass the course are much less active on their studying than those who pass. The new method has also had a good response from the students.","PeriodicalId":369251,"journal":{"name":"2016 ELEKTRO","volume":"660 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117315994","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
