This study design used a mixed-method approach, namely a participatory qualitative approach and a quantitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through documentation (college students’ artefacts) and classroom observations. The results showed that constructionism-based accounting spreadsheets design can build and facilitate computational thinking development. The college students’ emotional and social engagement when executing a design plan can foster curiosity and high enthusiasm to complete the design together. This engagement can reduce the cognitive load that students feel in understanding programming languages when utilising visual basic for application excel. This study contributes and suggests to learning practitioners to improve the students’ quality so that they can compete in this digital era. This research can be used as a basis for conducting further research where researchers empirically investigate the impact of computational thinking development.        \u0000Keywords: Computational thinking, cognitive load, emotional engagement, accounting education;","PeriodicalId":36811,"journal":{"name":"World Journal on Educational Technology: Current Issues","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89638462","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

More specifically, this study examines the effects of system quality (SisQua), information quality (InfQua), confirmation, perceived usefulness (PU) and self-efficacy (SE) on USat and CoIn to use e-learning platform. The expectation-confirmation model and technology acceptance model were used to test the hypotheses with 340 students. This research uses purposive sampling. Surveys were administered for 340 college students. To test the correlation among the variables, the structural equation model was used. This study showed that InfQua, PU, SE, service quality and SisQua positively affected USat. The data analysis indicates the positive effect between SE and USat and CoIn to use e-learning. However, InfQua had a negative effect with USat. This study has several implications for higher education (HE). First, to increase USat, universities should provide excellent services, technical support and user training and workshops for their e-learning platforms, including new features and functionalities so that students can take utmost advantage from them. The study draws on the analysis of surveys, monitoring studies, and statistical information from state services. It examines the technical capabilities of educational institutions, the information technology skills of instructors and students, and their motivation. On top of that, it identifies the main problems encountered during the implementation of digital technologies in the education process while paying special attention to the role of online education during the COVID-19 pandemic. Using a psychological portrait of a modern young student, the authors provide some recommendations for the learning content to increase the interactivity of the learning process and improve students’ motivation. The main types of problems in problem-situation learning are reviewed and a relationship between students’ preferences for problems of different degrees of structure and information transformations in thinking, as a segment of the core research competence is tested. In the course of the empirical study, a system of practical problems was applied, using a transition approach from solving well-structured to solving unstructured or poorly structured problems, and the possibility of student choice was implemented. Thus, based on the tendency towards initiative and independence, heuristic transformations can be explored and used to form pathways towards the development of students' research competence.\u0000Keywords: future teachers, heuristic information transformations, problem-situated learning, research competence, university education.","PeriodicalId":36811,"journal":{"name":"World Journal on Educational Technology: Current Issues","volume":"22 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86498355","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
