Financial institutions including banks implement AI based systems for the aim of meeting the needs of their clients. Although developing economies are bit slower in such adoption, however, they are still making their efforts. The current paper sheds the light on the role of AI in the enhancement of banking sector by exploring how AI based systems contribute in enhancing banking services and developing the trust of clients towards these services, so that developing economies could also adopt such advancements confidently. Consequently, after studying the Jordanian banking system through primary data, incorporating banking employees and clients, the study revealed that AI based systems conduct a central role in enhancing effective risk management, creating convenience, reducing costs and improving clients’ trust towards banking services. Moreover, the study induced that developing countries like Jordan should adopt and implement AI based systems in banking operations and services so that their banking sectors could play a more constructive part of their economies.","PeriodicalId":36807,"journal":{"name":"Humanities and Social Sciences Letters","volume":"52 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80965488","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study aimed to investigate Chinese English lecturers’ self-identification as researchers and whether gender, age, academic qualification, title, teaching load, and top journal publications had significant influences on their self-identification as researchers. A questionnaire was employed to collect quantitative data from 612 Chinese English lecturers. The findings suggest that the lecturers had a relatively low self-identification as researchers and that all the independent variables had significant influences on their self-identification as researchers. The findings have the following implications. Firstly, colleges can encourage female, elderly, and non-publishing lecturers to do research by offering more incentives and research training. Secondly, colleges can implement favorable policies to encourage lecturers to pursue a doctoral degree. Thirdly, colleges can consider reducing the teaching load of the lecturers who wish to devote more time to research.","PeriodicalId":36807,"journal":{"name":"Humanities and Social Sciences Letters","volume":"44 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89623673","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This fact implies that the developmental policies drawn by policymakers in the country must address the needs and inspirations of young people. This study aimed to analyze youth participation in the process of developmental policymaking from the perspective of the concerned directors of the Jordanian Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation (MoPIC) in terms of importance and implementation. The study adopted a qualitative approach and used semi-structured interviews to collect data from (10) directors. The study concluded that youth participation in developmental policy-making was considered to be crucial and essential for achieving development in Jordan. However, the current participation is considered to be weak and tokenistic. The study recommended more engagement of youth in policy-making.","PeriodicalId":36807,"journal":{"name":"Humanities and Social Sciences Letters","volume":"57 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84605274","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The data were collected from 33 experts and presented through descriptive dimensions of Percentage, Mean, Median, Mode, and interquartile ranges. One hundred indicators were found as guidelines for driving social enterprises. The sample group showed a unified opinion on all those 100 indicators. The indicators that gained the highest mean in each aspect were as follows: 1) Business Management: strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and obstacles analyzed to review the vision, mission, and goals of operating social enterprises; 2) Organizational Transformation: vision and the spirit of social work, communicated for personnel in the organization; 3) Technology and innovation: innovations in products and services, developed to make them different from general products with an identity to create competitive advantages 4) Social Shared Values: balance between seeking business profits and solving social problems. The study makes recommendations at both policy and operation levels suggesting an increase in competitiveness by building added values and creating social enterprise innovation in the digital economy era or building incentives for private sectors in terms of employment, procurement, and investment to accommodate the growth of the social enterprise. Social enterprise should also plan strategies at the organization level, company level, and operation level to make them consistent with the new normal situation.","PeriodicalId":36807,"journal":{"name":"Humanities and Social Sciences Letters","volume":"11 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78610337","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This fact was pointed out in the poor audit results on the local government financial statements released by the Indonesian Supreme Audit Board (SAB). Using the perspective of institutional isomorphism theory, this study aimed to examine various potential factors that affect the quality of Indonesian local government financial statements, including the number of local parliamentarians, the number of civil servants, comparative studies, educational background of regional heads, and the level of urbanization. This study used a sample of 220 local governments in Indonesia taken in 2018. The logistic regression analysis showed that the number of civil servants and the number of local parliamentarians significantly affected the quality of Indonesian local government financial statements. This highlights the influence of coercive pressures on the quality of financial statements of the Indonesian local governments. These findings can serve as input for the Indonesian government in formulating public policies, particularly regarding improving the quality of local government financial statements.","PeriodicalId":36807,"journal":{"name":"Humanities and Social Sciences Letters","volume":"89 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75429602","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are a few previous studies that have looked into the satisfaction of parents and students with their high school and college experiences. However, research on parental satisfaction with preschool education is limited, particularly in Vietnam. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influenced parents' satisfaction with their children's preschool education. A total of 511 parents in Danang agreed to take part in the study. In this study, multi-regression analysis was carried out to find out relations between response to information, teachers, and educational programs; financial costs; facilities, equipment, and supplies; care and support; and parents' satisfaction. It was found that a majority of participants expressed satisfaction with the quality of preschool education and showed their willingness to pay for it. The most influential factor affecting parents' satisfaction was identified as facilities, including other factors such as response to information, teachers, and educational programs; financial costs; care and support discussed in detail. Future research may build on the findings of this study and investigate additional factors such as practical and convenience factors or a measure of average classroom learning gains that may have an impact on the satisfaction of parents.","PeriodicalId":36807,"journal":{"name":"Humanities and Social Sciences Letters","volume":"47 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81597999","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A mixed method research design was adopted for this study. The quantitative data was collected by questionnaires from 500 small business entrepreneurs on four variables: resource preparation, alliance collaboration, product development, and competitive advantage. The qualitative research design used the In-depth interview technique to collect data from nine experts, identified through purposive sampling method, and divided into three groups of equal size comprising 3 members: a group of successful business entrepreneurs, a group of government leaders and related agencies and a group of academics The study found that the element of resource preparation created competitive opportunities in the digital economy through transparent leadership; alliance collaboration made a collaboration arrangement with other companies; product development expanded the idea to be concrete; and competitive advantage kept individuals with expertise and experience with the company. The study recommends improving the model by considering the Modification Indices obtained from the packaged program with theoretical academic principles and eliminating some improper observational variables.","PeriodicalId":36807,"journal":{"name":"Humanities and Social Sciences Letters","volume":"4 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84651636","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
