Area coverage is still an essential issue in a directional sensor network which consists of a number of directional sensors. In this paper, we study a novel \"area coverage by directional sensors\" problem. We propose the maximum directional area coverage (MDAC) problem to maximize covered area by scheduling the working directions of the sensors in the network. We prove the MDAC to be NP-complete and propose one distributed scheduling algorithm for the MDAC. The result uses an extension of the Japanese theorem for communication problems with multiple multicast sessions and an interpretation of the extension in terms of the collection of minimum length routing trees for the various multicast sessions. We provide the domination- set-based peer-to-peer searching algorithm with economic models, which achieves motivating peers' corporation in the whole overlay. However, the intuitive idea of using multiple unicasts to disseminate the message over the multicast overlay does not take advantage of the broadcast nature of radio transmission. In this paper, we propose to use stateless source routing to perform overlay multicast. By encoding the destinations and forwarders into the packet header, a member node only needs to transmit the packet through the radio once and those neighboring nodes specified in the header will relay the message. Through simulation, we compare our protocol with the differential destination multicast (DDM). This paper takes the partition-able server as management object, on the basis of studying the autonomic computing and hardware features of partition-able server, a method based on policies is proposed to realize the autonomic computing system. In this article, a fault-tolerance method that based on similar resources and related technologies are proposed and discussed. First, several mathematical models of key elements, such as computing nodes, similar nodes and tasks, are constructed. Then, the similarity computation methods and evaluation criteria are evinced by two different views: tasks and resources. Supported by theories above, numerous methods, such as similar nodes auto- discovery (SNAD) and its optimization one (oSNAD), redundant tasks auto-deployment, and reconfiguration policies of fault tasks and nodes are highlighted respectively. Sensor nodes belonging to different sensor networks may not be able to collaborate properly to gain the capacity or performance due to inability to exchange information with each other. In this paper we propose a semantic-based query processing architecture that enables in-network processing of multiple sensor networks with unified protocol. In this architecture, there are low-level semantics in raw sensory data which are the mapping of the physical world. Semantics will be attached to the data to make the sensory data be understood more easily. In the process of matching, aggregated data are generated and semantics are attached to the aggregated data. The advantage of semantic-based architecture is that it can solve the problems in more complex situations. It makes the exchange of sensory data in multiple sensor networks possible and efficiently. The process of semantic creation and maintenance is described. We also introduce the concept of semantic data model.
