People’s preferences for private transport for movement may give rise to congestion on the roads leading to the housing estates due to narrow access roads. The Government of Palembang City has laid out a plan for feeder transportation connecting buses and LRTs. Going forward, the procurement and management for this feeder transportation will be handed over to the public (private sector). There needs to be a route plan that is efficient and easy to modify considering the low number of passengers outside of peak hours and the constantly-changing number at every point. The Saving Matrix was studied for its effectiveness in planning fast and efficient routes. The results of the study showed that calculations using the Saving Matrix method are easy to carry out and produces efficient routes.","PeriodicalId":36749,"journal":{"name":"ASEAN Engineering Journal","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44795801","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The technologies for converting biomass to conventional WPO are investigated in this paper. Biomass likes as cow dung and kitchen waste was used as a feed for the anaerobe to generate biogas. This biogas can be effectively utilized for heating purpose of synthesis WPO from waste plastic. WPO conversion process fly ash is used as catalyst with 0.1 cat/pol. WPO blend with different percentages with diesel like 25 % to 100 % WPO ((WPO 25), (WPO 50), (WPO 75) and (WPO 100) ) by volume with pure diesel and run the KIRLOSKAR TV -1 engine. At various engine loads, the impact of WPO blends on engine performance and exhaust emissions were investigated. The results are validated to those of a standard diesel fuel operation. WPO has a greater fuel concept and brake thermal efficiency than diesel. The engine functioned better with WPO25 mix. It is discovered that the NOx, HC, CO2, and smoke emissions are greater than those of diesel.","PeriodicalId":36749,"journal":{"name":"ASEAN Engineering Journal","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45668765","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper focuses on TC removal by simple adsorption treatment and utilization of natural diatomaceous earth (NDE) as a cheap adsorbent. To improve efficiency of NDE, an impregnation method using acid (H2SO4) or base (KOH) was applied to modify NDE and influences of important activation parameters, concentration of reagent (Creagent), ratio of NDE weight and activating solution volume (NDE-to-Sol), temperature (Tact) and time (tact), on the efficiencies of the obtained acid and base activated diatomaceous earths (ADE and BDE) were investigated. Batch adsorption experiment was performed at the same condition to evaluate TC adsorption capacities at equilibrium (qe, TC) of NDE, ADE and BDE. It was found that acid activation negatively affected qe, TC and increases of CH2SO4, Tact and tact resulted in poorer ADE. In contrast, qe, TC was successfully enhanced through activation by KOH; Tact and tact played more significant roles on the enhancement, comparing with CKOH and NDE-to-Sol; impregnation at higher Tact and longer tact could improve efficiency of BDE and the best BDE (BDE-B) with the highest qe, TC (86.31 mg/g) was obtained at 3 M, 0.1 g/ml, 80 °C and 9 h.","PeriodicalId":36749,"journal":{"name":"ASEAN Engineering Journal","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42101057","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, the drilling operations can be continued without obstacles. The function of the drilling mud depends on the conditions of the formation to be drilled for optimal results. One of the main functions is to lift cutting from a bottom hole to the surface. In the annulus, the minimum speed for lifting the cutting to the surface was calculated. The Cutting Capacity Annulus (CCA) is the value of the level of solids in the annulus. The proper concentration of cutting in the annulus is not more than 5%, to avoid drilling problems, such as decreased rate of penetration (ROP), increased drag and torque, and stuck pipe related to hole cleaning problems. In analyzing the lifting ability of cutting, CCA is very suitable to be used because it accounts for the parameters of ROP value. This study conducted a comparison of two types of natural polymers that have a function to help the hole cleaning in the drilling process. The two types of polymers are cellulose polymers (drispac) and polysaccharide polymers (starch). Furthermore, it also had been tested on a field scale using the cutting transport ratio (CTR) method to find out how much ratio is obtained in the two types of polymer mud. Based on the test of the two mud samples on the cutting removal process in the CCA method at a temperature of 150oF, the mud samples containing starch ranged from 1.0731% to 1.0792%, while the mud samples containing drispac ranged from 1.0730% to 1.0793%. At 200oF the mud samples containing starch ranged from 0.7357% to 1.3604%, while the mud samples containing drispac ranged from 0.7357% to 1.3603%. At a temperature of 250oF, the mud samples containing starch ranged from 0.2652% to 0.4903%, while the mud samples containing drispac ranged from 0.265178% to 0.4907%. Although the density of the starch-containing mud sample was greater than drispac, the CCA value did not have much effect due to the difference in density of the two mud samples of 0.1 ppg. Both samples were able to optimally lift the cutting above the surface because the CCA value was less than 5%.","PeriodicalId":36749,"journal":{"name":"ASEAN Engineering Journal","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48642114","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research aimed to predict soil erosion by implementing the RUSLE model on the Khilau Sub-Sub-Watershed, combined with remote sensing, GIS techniques, and field observation. This research is divided into several phases, i.e. soil data collection, getting satellite maps, obtaining rainfall data from 2011 to 2019, making the topographic maps of land slopes, land use, and soil types, whose overlay will be made, and data analysis. The results show that the areas with the highest risk of erosion were located on the hills and in the areas characterized by steep slopes of 1,395.48 (t/ha/year) with a slope level of >45% (very steep), which had the highest LS factor value and were characterized as areas with strong relief, i.e. hills (with a slope level of >20%). In conclusion, the erosion rate of the Khilau Sub-Sub Watershed is dominated by the erosion falling into the heavy category with an average erosion value of 405.17 (t/ha/year) by soil parameter, slope inclination, vegetation cover, and climate. The most influential factors in this study were the climate and slopes, where the lands used as mixed gardens and annuals had a high risk of erosion. So, it is of utmost importance to take soil protection and conservation measures for potential erosion protection in the area.\u0000 ","PeriodicalId":36749,"journal":{"name":"ASEAN Engineering Journal","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47102570","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we proposed the approach of detecting biological stains using the combination of HSV color segmentation, UVA light and also blue bandpass filter. Using color segmentation with the aid from UVA light, the fluorescent image of detected stains can be extracted. Understanding the behavior of PVDs under various load conditions is essential for their efficient design and implementation. This research aims to improve the performance and efficacy of PVD systems in geotechnical engineering applications by investigating and comprehending the behavior of flow conditions in PVDs under incremental confining pressure. Three PVD samples varying in thicknesses have been evaluated in the laboratory to determine their discharge capacity and transmissivity under various hydraulic gradients. The PVD was subjected to incremental confining pressures between 50 and 200 kPa. The apparatus utilized in this study was designed by following ASTM D4716. The flow condition was determined by limiting the hydraulic gradients and calculating the turbulence degree of the flow. The analysis results showed that the flow inside PVD is non-laminar, and the PVD with the larger cross-section is more resilient to deviations in the hydraulic gradient. The proposed equations accurately predicted the discharge capacity of PVDs under increasing confinement pressures, and a comparison with experimental results revealed a high level of concordance. Particularly for PVDs with larger cross-sectional areas, the hydraulic gradient significantly affected the discharge capacity.","PeriodicalId":36749,"journal":{"name":"ASEAN Engineering Journal","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48341346","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this work, simplified structural evaluation which is based on Japanese Index Method has been used for the seismic evaluation of 05 existing PEB steel structure. The structural seismic index of the building, IBS has been compared with the seismic judgement index IBSO which is a function of seismic zone co-efficient, structural importance coefficient and normalized acceleration response spectrum. The service load index IBD has also been compared with service load judgement indices, IBD01 and IBD02 which has been calculated from the material strength. For example, from the judgement of one building at ground floor, 0.5IBSO ≦ IBS<IBSO and IBD02<IBDhave been observed hence immediate detail evaluation recommended.","PeriodicalId":36749,"journal":{"name":"ASEAN Engineering Journal","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45447831","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
