In order to improve the outdoor lightning protection ability, this paper presents a simplified compact lightning protection circuit, whose lightning protection ability can reach 20KA. It also advises to add an ORing MOSFET at the output end of power system, to solve the problem of the limit-exceeding of the synchronous rectifier electric stress when the lightning current flows backward. The energy consumptions are normalized for the weather conditions and size of the building, then the consumptions are compared with the design data. The data analysis shows that nZEB can be built in northern part of Italy and even if the real consumptions are slightly higher than the values expected from design. Using Eco mode UPS is an important measure of data center energy saving, which can improve the Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of data center. Class E2 dc-dc converter, which is one of the converter suitable for high operating frequency is studied. Class E2 dc-dc converter composed of a Class E amplifier and Class E rectifier. the amplifier side and rectifier side of class E2 dc-dc converter can achieve ZVS and ZDS. However, it is indicated that peak switch voltage reaches approximately 3.5 times of the dc supply voltage in the amplifier side of this converter. For that reason, it leads to the increase of cost and loss because a high-voltage switching device is necessary. This paper presents a circuit dividing the switch voltage by connecting transistors of the amplifier side of class E2 dc-dc converter. This paper proposes a novel LLC resonant DC-DC converter with integrated transformer. This circuit is composed of three LLC converter cells which are connected in series on the primary side and in parallel on the secondary side with interleaved control scheme. The Series Input Parallel Output (SIPO) structure enables the converter cells to share the input voltage and output current. The interleaved operation diminishes the ripple current of the output capacitor, and can reduce the size of the output capacitor. Also a reduction effect of the transformers is obtained by using the integrated transformer which independent transformers are combined into a single core. All these features make the proposed converter suitable for especially high input voltage and high output current applications to realize higher power and higher efficiency. The steady state operating principle of the converter was demonstrated. The theoretical analysis, the equivalent model and voltage gain of the converter are presented based on fundamental harmonic analysis of the converter. DC power distribution systems employing 380VDC as the supply voltage is one promising approach to address this problem for countries around the world developing and deploying commercial services. We demonstrated a 380VDC power distribution system interconnected with a solar power generation system in Texas, USA. The purpose of this demonstration was to show that a 380VDC power supply system saves more energy than an AC power supply system, and to show how much carbon dioxide emissions can be reduced by integrating a solar power generation system. This demonstration resulted in an approximate 17% energy reduction compared with an AC power supply system having the same level of reliability. Also, an evaluation using Data center Performance Per Energy (DPPE) as a performance index of the efficiency of data centers was carried out. Therefore, a balancing system which takes the grid stabilizing role is necessary. Depending on the time periods of the chosen sales channels, different storage systems can be used. For short and middle time spans an electrochemical system like a battery energy storage system (BESS) can be integrated into the grid. In order to investigate in which way a BESS can operate economically and which services can be offered for grid stabilization, a 5.8 MW and 5.6 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) was designed and built. Within this contribution, the setup will be explained.
