The study included men with long-term consequences of traumatic brain injury with sexual dysfunction. The study used sexological, psychopathological, psychometric, statistical techniques and additional methods. All patients were divided into three groups depending on the time of the injury. All rehabilitation aimed at restoring lost functions, taking into account the identified sexual dysfunction symptoms. Drug therapy, psychotherapy, logotherapy, massage, physiotherapy effects, acupuncture is used in rehabilitation. Symptomatic treatment was aimed at correcting the underlying psychopathology (affective disorders, asthenic conditions, seizures). Much attention is paid to the psychotherapeutic work, because traumatic brain injury not only leads to a change in the functioning of the human, but also entails a number of social, communication problems, resulting in developing family and sexual disharmony. The basic stages of therapy, taking into account the peculiarities of social functioning, relationships, sexual function of patients and their sexual constitution. Астахова","doi":"10.17650/2070-9781-2015-1-8-12","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.17650/2070-9781-2015-1-8-12","url":null,"abstract":"Infertility is a polyetiological disease and requires modern universal markers, studying of which could allow determination of the appropriate tactics of treatment of patients with impaired fertility, evaluation of prognosis, and prospects of treatment. Besides, there is an evident trend towards widening of indications to apply auxiliary reproductive technologies in treatment of patients with the most serious factors of male infertility. Inhibin, that is a hormone composed of two subunits, may act as one of such markers that allow judging of the morphological and functional state of the testicular parenchyma. Inhibin B that is produced with Sertoli cells and young spermatogenous cells in the seminiferous tubules is a known endocrine marker for evaluation of spermatogenesis. The review includes analysis of results of the studies that investigated the value of determination of the level of inhibin B in the course of diagnostics of male infertility as well as in the course of prognosis of results of testicular sperm extraction. It has been demonstrated that on the whole inhibin B is a more sensitive marker than the follicle-stimulating hormone. According to a number of authors, due to its high sensitivity and specificity, inhibin B may become the alternative to testicular biopsy, as well as a marker of differential diagnosis of male infertility in future. At the same time, the level of inhibin B in serum may not be used as a singular marker of males with non-obstructive azoospermia. Muronets","doi":"10.17650/2070-9781-2015-1-69-72","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.17650/2070-9781-2015-1-69-72","url":null,"abstract":"The paper contains research data on the effect of low concentrations of hydrogen dioxide on human sperm motility and specific enzyme activity of sperms of glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase. It is shown that incubation of sperms with hydrogen dioxide in a low concentration leads to a change and motility in sperm and activity of sperm enzyme. Intensity of observed effect depended on the concentration of hydrogen dioxide: active mobility increased by 17–19 % and the total mobility – 11 %. Motility changes in sperms were accompanied by increased activity of glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase by 24 %, in normozoospermia response was higher than in pathozoospermia and also depended on the concentration of hydrogen dioxide. The use of sperm analyzer enabled revealing changes in the diapason of different speeds of the active fraction of sperm, which have been observed in the first 15 min of incubation with hydrogen dioxide. A possible mechanism of action of the detected effect is discussed. Reactive oxygen species easily oxidize enzyme for glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase of sperms, which leads to a loss of sperm motility, for example, in varicocele. Initially low enzyme activity in varicocele (pathozoospermia) may be associated with the suppression of sperm antioxidant defense. Addition of low concentrations of hydrogen dioxide into sperm samples leads to an increase in the concentration of reduced glutathione in a cell. Increase of sperm motility in this case can serve as an indicator of normal operation of the cellular antioxidant defense system.
