Oftentimes, it is easy to be misdiagnosed as a malignant tumor when nodules are found in multiple tissues. In most cases, there is a previous history of total abdominal hysterectomy for uterine leiomyoma. However, the pathogenesis of this disease has not yet been elucidated. In order to raise clinicians’ awareness of BML, we present a short review of the literature in combination with an unusual case.","PeriodicalId":366018,"journal":{"name":"Cytology & Histology International Journal","volume":"63 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131579681","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Here, we describe a 50-year old female patient presenting with subcutaneous swelling in the forehead. Fine needle aspiration revealed features of chondroid syringoma which was confirmed on subsequent histopathological examination. The present case highlights the importance of aspiration cytology for rapid, cheap and accurate diagnosis of these cutaneous neoplasms thus avoiding the necessity of invasive procedures.","PeriodicalId":366018,"journal":{"name":"Cytology & Histology International Journal","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131639950","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It affects mainly the liver and is extensively distributed worldwide, but is endemic in sheep-raising regions. The definitive diagnosis of liver echinococcosis requires a combination of imaging, serologic, and immunologic studies. However, specific diagnosis is based on microscopic examination of the cyst fluid with demonstration of scolices, hooklets or fragments of laminated membrane and occasional multinucleated giant cells. We present herewith a case of hydatid cyst diagnosed cytologically, in a 30 years female who presented with non-radiating pain in right abdomen.","PeriodicalId":366018,"journal":{"name":"Cytology & Histology International Journal","volume":"73 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132694069","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The manifestations of the functional pathology of higher nervous activity are varied, but primarily they relate to mental functions. Since the pathology of higher nervous activity is manifested not only in deviations of mental functions, but also in violations of other functions of the body (regulation of the somatovegetative sphere), the study of its mechanisms is carried out taking into account changes in the whole organism, including the humoral system. Deepening and detailing the pathogenesis of disorders of higher nervous activity will serve as a fundamental basis for the prevention and correction of diseases of the nervous system.","PeriodicalId":366018,"journal":{"name":"Cytology & Histology International Journal","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134445454","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Catabolic activities depend on the proteolytic action of the matrix -degrading enzymes including ADAMTS (A disintegrin and metalloproteinases) and MMP (Matrix Metalloproteinase). The current study explored the distribution of MMP-9 in normal articular cartilages of the embryos rabbit. Articular cartilage has grown by appositional growth that the perichondrial stem cells differentiate into chondrocytes. MMP-9 positive perichondrial stem cells or chondroblasts and early chondrocytes. Mature chondrocytes exhibited weak immunoaffinity for MMP-9. In conclusion, MMP-9 was essential during chondrocytes growth. The current study alludes to the potential role of MMP-9 during the growth of the articular cartilage.","PeriodicalId":366018,"journal":{"name":"Cytology & Histology International Journal","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127282658","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
