The author of the article believes that the new form, which arose at the intersection of journalism and fiction, was mainly due to the prospeech attitudes of editorial policy, which simultaneously persuaded the highest strata of the Russian bureaucracy to put an end to the liberal reforms of Alexander II and at the same time tries to expand the circle of readers who adhere to a different social orientation.Creating a new form of Diary as a literary work, Dostoevsky actively used the resources of rhetoric, while also preserving the achievements in the field of poetic peculiar means such as the paradoxical enthymeme, the reception of implied word? The use of metalanguage and metatext procedures, irony, and parody techniques.The author of the writer’s Diary actively used non-traditional motives for previous works – false oblivion, masks, obsessions. A number of changes can also be found in such traditional genres of rhetoric as preaching and confession. {"title":"Fake and Post-Truth News in the Information Agenda in the Context of the First “Wave” of the Coronavirus Pandemic (COVID-19)","authors":"A. Yefanov","doi":"10.25205/1818-7919-2023-22-6-161-170","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.25205/1818-7919-2023-22-6-161-170","url":null,"abstract":"The article argues the synchronized processes of diffusion of misinformation (fakeization) and spread of post-truth news in the information agenda, disposed in the context of the first “wave” of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The methods of case study, discourse analysis, and comparative analysis are applied. The empirical base is the materials of television channels (Channel One, Rossiya 1, NTV) and social networks (VKontakte and banned on  the territory of the Russian Federation Facebook, Instagram). Timeline of the study – March-June 2020. The outcomes of the study demonstrate that the above processes were due to the problematization simultaneously with the “high and low threshold” – the spread of this social precedent to the entire social space and complete lack of such experience among individuals causes social disorientation and particularly manipulative susceptibility of society – and due to the differentiated motives of the actors. Based on the author's concept of pseudo-news, it is determined that fake is  a product of mass consciousness, and post-truth – a result of the planned and deliberate tactics implemented by the powers that control media. The problem of interaction between literature and journalism continues to be relevant today. Specialized publications dedicated to this topic are rarely studied. The purpose of the article is to consider ways of interaction between literature and journalism in specialized nature and hunting magazines of the late 19th – early 20th century. The research is based on hunting stories, articles by critics, and reviews by writers.Results. The article concludes that magazines have become an experimental platform for a new genre in the late  19th century. In the 1870s and 1890s, a bunch of important motives was formed. Among them are the motive of the path, the motive of the meeting, the motive of memories, the motive of death, the motive of the hunting brotherhood, and others.Conclusion. In the 1960s – 1980s, the main public holidays in the Soviet Union were November 7th, May Day, and the day of the Soviet Constitution. Victory Day was a memorial day for a long time in this span of time. Printed congratulations on the anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution and May Day were heavily ritualized, while a text of the printed address contained the realities of the current socio-economic policy of the CPSU. Constitution Day, until the mid-1980s, was holiday number three according to newspaper editorial policy. The greetings dedicated to this public holiday usually emphasized the importance of socio-economic goods and social benefits for the Soviet people guaranteed by the Constitution. Perestroika in the USSR drastically changed the editorial policy of “Nauka v Sibiri”. The well-established tradition of holiday greetings was revisited in 1986– 1988. {"title":"Argumentation in the Pandemic Media Discourse: Decoding Rhetoric Practice","authors":"L. A. The paper examines argumentation in the pandemic media discourse. Within the concept of decoding rhetoric, argumentation is considered a procedure for effective text formation acting as an instrument of influence.Method. The research method used is argument reconstruction based on the following parameters: a thesis, types of arguments, and argumentation structures. The material has been selected according to the criterion of an addressee  of the media discourse, where the addressee is a politician, a doctor, or a publicist.Results. Media texts about the pandemic demonstrate that politicians propose orthodox theses, whereas doctor (D. Protsenko) proposes prescriptive ones and publicist (D. Bykov) – paradoxical ones.Politicians use the universal system and rational arguments based on statistics. The influencing message of D. Protsenko’s media text is formed due to personal empirical argumentation. D. Bykov relies on collective empirical argumentation.Concerning the argumentation structures, coordinate argumentation dominates in the media texts of politicians, making it possible to defend their opinion in the most revealing way. D. Protsenko combines coordinate argumentation with the subordinate one, creating opportunities for interpretation. The text of D. Bykov does not show any steady tendencies for argumentative structuring, reflecting a creative approach to text formation.Conclusion. The possibility of studying the funeral rite of the Northern Wei period in Guyuan is limited by the small number of known complexes, the fragmentary nature of the materials that have reached our days due to tombs looting, and the lack of scientific publications on some complexes. The tombs known to date are not numerous (only seven tombs have been discovered so far), but varied in design features and the composition of the grave goods, which is explained by the chronological distance and differences in the ethnic and cultural identity and the social status of the tomb occupants. The earliest tombs near Shiwacun Village in Xinji Township show similarities to the tombs of the period of the Sixteen Barbarian States. The burials of ordinary Xianbei who moved to the Guyuan region after its conquest by the Northern Wei testify to the preservation of their own traditions and the insignificant influence of Chinese (Han) culture on their funerary practices.Conclusion. This article studies bits and cheek-pieces belong to the mass categories of riding horse equipment from the archaeological sites of Altai of 2nd century BC – 5th century AD. These finds, taking into account the rarity of such materials from synchronous sites in adjacent territories, are an important source for the reconstruction of horse equipment of the nomads of Central and North Asia. The article presents the analysis of a series of bits and cheek-pieces from objects of the Rouran period of the Choburak-I necropolis.Methods and Results. The analyzed collection includes nine bits and five cheek-pieces. The basis of the study was the morphological analysis and classification of items of horse equipment, as well as the comparison of these finds with materials from neighboring territories. Two types of bits and two types of cheek-pieces are distinguished, demonstrating common and special features of the manufacture of bridle sets by the population of Northern Altai in the Rouran period. A comparative study made it possible to determine their dating and genesis.Conclusion. It has been established that bits and cheek-pieces are an important chronological marker for further clarification of the periodization of the archaeological sites of Altai. It is concluded that the horse equipment of the Bulan-Koby archaeological culture had a significant impact on the appearance of this category of objects among the early Turks. The paper studies the golden saber from the Military-Historical Museum of Artillery, Engineer and Signal corps (The Artillery Museum).Results. Based on the analysis of the construction and decoration of the blade, tang and guard it is supposed that this sample of long-bladed weapon belongs to the group of “chechuga” sabers. In the original configuration the saber had the hilt decorated with gemstones and scabbard covered with leather with fittings made of copper alloy. The blade bears bilingual inscription and it means that this piece of weapon belongs to the sabers granted to the specific person with indication of his name. This saber was granted to Kalmykian noyon (prince) Bambar for his victory over Kazakhs in 1762. The analysis of archive documents allowed to understand the circumstances of the battle of Feb, 17, 1762 as the Empress Ekaterina II ordered to grant a saber to Bambar for that battle. Bambar brought this saber to Qing empire during the “Torgud escape” in 1771. In the beginning of 20th century during the suppression of the Yihetuan (Boxer) uprising Russian officers paid attention to the saber with the golden inscription in Russian, so the saber was handed to the command of Kwantung fortress and then sent to Saint Petersburg in 1903.Conslusion. The saber is of high scientific value, as it is the only example of the weapons of the Kalmyk princes, on which there is a gold inscription indicating the name of the owner of the saber. {"title":"The Cuckoo Image in the Buryats Traditional Concepts and Rituals","authors":"А. The study is devoted to identifying the image of the cuckoo in the Buryats mythological ideas and traditional rituals.Results. In the first part of the work, a general description of the cuckoo image is given based on the vocabulary and small genres of the buryat folklore. It was found that the Buryats particularly noted the voice and physical dexterity of this bird from its other biological features. It was also associated with such a negative trait of a person as idle talk.The second part of the study examines the Buryats mythological ideas about the cuckoo. It was found out that the cuckoo appears in the Buryat epic as a sacred bird, a conductor of the celestials will. It has a feminine origin: women are believed to turn into this bird after death as a punishment for easy virtue and committing suicide. The cuckoo image is also associated with the motif of werewolf, ideas about the evergreen needles acquisition by larch trees and the milk wine invention. In the Buryat epic, this bird often acts as a bearer of knowledge about the past and a wealth giver. The dual nature of the magical effect of the cuckoo’s voice was revealed: on the one hand, it can be beneficial for man and nature, on the other hand, it can destroy a person. The negative features of the cuckoo image are associated with the symbolism of death, which is reflected in folk signs, in particular in the superstition about the cuckoo ability to predict a person’s life expectancy.The third part of the article highlights the cuckoo image in the Buryats shamanic ritual. It has been established that it was localized in the shamanic rite of the Aghin Buryats, probably being a relic of totemism.Conclusion. The study shows that the cuckoo image in the mythological ideas of the Buryats is very ambiguous. This bird was revered as a sacred feathered. It personified the feminine principle. The cuckoo was characterized by solar and celestial symbolism, in addition it acted as a fertility symbol, which was manifested in the correlation of the image with nature rhythms and renewal. This bird was associated with sacred trees (the shamanic Mother Tree and the World Tree).
