It has become the very important source of cash income in whole areas of Kumaun Himalaya, where it is known as Yarsa-Gambu, ‘summer-grass-winter-worm’, this new occupation of the local inhabitant arisen out of extraction of Yarsa-Gambu in the higher Himalayan areas is now struggling for its survival due to various anthropogenic activities. The adverse anthropogenic activities are (i) increase human pressure in the caterpillar growing areas is steadily increasing the atmospheric temperature in the region, which is not good for the health of caterpillar, (ii) use of plastic materials is in the region by the tourists and local inhabitant and (iii) felling and burning of trees and shrubs in the region. All these anthropogenic activities have accelerated the process of warming and de-glaciations in the region. The fundamental objective of this paper is to study in detail about distribution, production, and impacts of anthropogenic activities in the growth of caterpillar fungus in the higher Himalayas by employing a higher Himalayan watershed viz., Gori Ganga as an experimental laboratory.","PeriodicalId":364345,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Geoinformatics and Geological Science","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121377521","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The correlation proved to be inconsonant with the corollaries stated above when processed through the linear regression model constructed to serve the purpose. The Landsat data and in-situ observed values of total dissolved solids (TDS), pH, salinity, electrical conductivity, and Dissolved Oxygen (DO) were passed through this model quantify the WQP. The results demonstrated that the band combination and band rationing of Landsat against the ground sampling measurements were almost parallel. The averaged estimated values of the ground measurements for pH, BOD, NH 3 , NO 3 , TSS, and TDS were 7.13, 2.212, 1.68, 2.634, 95.13, 80.71, respectively. The corresponding concentration values for Landsat data are 7.54, 2.568, 0.33, 2.536, 102.466, and 88.002, respectively. These numerals prove that Landsat data would be a good fit for estimating and monitoring Water Quality Parameters (WQP) in the Tamirabarani river, Tirunelveli, on a regional scale.","PeriodicalId":364345,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Geoinformatics and Geological Science","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-02-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132111574","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As compared to all districts, Bhilwara is a leading producer of the iron ore deposit. According to the Department of Mines and Geology, in the year 2017-18, iron ore in Rajasthan covers 2240.10 hectors area in which eighteen mines were engaging in the exploitation of iron ore. The total production of iron ore is 34.67 lactones, of which the sale value is Rs. 1020.74 crore, and due to that, it generates total revenue of Rs. 1940.42 Lac, and this contribution lead to employing 833 employees. In the year 2015, the total reserve/resources of iron ore (hematite and magnetite) in the state of Rajasthan is 655.31 million tonnes. Iron ore in Bhilwara district covers the 1989.28 hectors area in which two mines are engaging in the manufacture of iron ore. The total production of iron ore is 32.04 Lac tonnes, of which the sale value is Rs. 1009.29 crore, and due to that, it generates total revenue of Rs. 1835.93 Lac, and this contribution lead to employing 801 employees. The total reserve/resources of iron ore in the district are 522 million tonnes. In this paper, the authors discuss the statistical data of iron ore in the Bhilwara district, Rajasthan. Moreover, there is also a tremendous role of iron ore in financial as well as in employment generation in Rajasthan.","PeriodicalId":364345,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Geoinformatics and Geological Science","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126732604","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
