This paper proposes an evaluation of different partition approaches over an hybrid system that enables communication between threads running in a shared memory environment and a cluster of computers. We use specific directives provided by MPI to solve a problem of similarity search on metric spaces. While the proposal of this work may be generalized and used for other problems, the results show that the proposed hybrid algorithm allows a significant improvement.","PeriodicalId":364233,"journal":{"name":"2012 Seventh International Conference on P2P, Parallel, Grid, Cloud and Internet Computing","volume":"129 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115396967","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Such principles represents a shift away from traditional system-centric management towards user-centric management. It allows each user to formulate an individual valuation of the requested resources by indicating an acceptable price level for their usage. in a computational commodity market, the price for CPU usage is set by equilibrating supply and demand. We investigate the possibility of modeling the price evolution in a computational market with number of techniques (support vector machines, back propagation neural networks and sequence patterns). If such models have predictive capability, they may be used to optimize resource usage. This study extends previous work. It now includes more differentiated resource model with several categories of CPU's differing in their performance levels and it also adds new modeling approaches for the CPU price evolution. Our study indicates no significant difference in the capabilities of the approaches.","PeriodicalId":364233,"journal":{"name":"2012 Seventh International Conference on P2P, Parallel, Grid, Cloud and Internet Computing","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129952643","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We defined operations that are required to operate VFSN for multiple sensor information service providers. Eucalyptus is an open source implementation of Cloud computing infrastructure that has a particular architecture. By using Eucalyptus, we can make public and private Clouds. Hadoop also is an open platform that is used for distributing data and jobs in large clusters. This platform can be used for processing and storing huge volumes of data and executing parallel jobs (e.g. analyzing system logs, weather data, and customer relationship behavior and so on.). In this article, we using integrating Hadoop platform on Eucalyptus infrastructure, facilitate and accelerate the deployment of a Hadoop cluster and moreover represent one of the uses of Eucalyptus system in serving services to the Cloud customers. It is worth mentioning that we have successfully implemented our method on the supercomputer of Amirkabir University and according to executed program on our cluster, efficiency has increased to about 80 percent in 32 cores compared to 4 cores clusters.","PeriodicalId":364233,"journal":{"name":"2012 Seventh International Conference on P2P, Parallel, Grid, Cloud and Internet Computing","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127426534","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Applications types are classified into high throughput computing and high throughput data management. Desktop Grids such as Condor, BOINC, XtremWeb and Our Grid provide a wide range of high throughput computing systems. on the other hand, several data management systems such as Bit dew, GatorShare, Stork, Grid FTP, have been developed to handle a huge amount of data. Users are restricted to exploit Desktop Grid resources with a specific computing system and a specific data management system. to address this limitation, we propose in this work an extension of the Bonjour Grid middleware, to support different data management systems by exploiting existing data protocols and middleware. with Bonjour Grid, users of the same infrastructure can select, each one, the desired Desktop Grid middleware among the most popular ones to deploy and execute their applications. Now, users can select in addition to the computing system, the desired data manager protocol in a transparent and decentralized manner. Experimentation, using Bit Dew and Stork, on the Grid'5000 platform, demonstrate that the new release of Bonjour Grid provides with performance and at a low overhead.","PeriodicalId":364233,"journal":{"name":"2012 Seventh International Conference on P2P, Parallel, Grid, Cloud and Internet Computing","volume":"111 3S 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116485534","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In conventional 3-D broadcasting, since they watch the image with only the partial region and the view point is fixed, their realistic sensation is low. In immersive contents broadcasting, clients can play data without interruption. When the server delivers immersive contents in broadcasting, since the data size of each content is so large that the waiting time while playing it becomes unrealistic. In this paper, we propose a scheduling method to reduce waiting time on immersive contents broadcasting. In our proposed method, by dividing the immersive content into active immersive data and static immersive data and scheduling them effectively, the waiting time can be reduced.","PeriodicalId":364233,"journal":{"name":"2012 Seventh International Conference on P2P, Parallel, Grid, Cloud and Internet Computing","volume":"12 13","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"113984591","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In these practical courses, students not only need access to network layers and system kernels, but they often need to reason about consistency issues associated with the distributed nature of these experiments. This paper outlines the pros and cons of redesigning a traditional distributed systems course to incorporate modern experimental facilities for deploying distributed systems, such as Emulab, Seattle and Planet Lab. The possibility of giving students practical and relevant experience coupled with theoretical foundations is explored by considering traditional learning outcomes in the context of new course assignment objectives. A proposed set of experiments, along with their potential pitfalls and shortcomings, provide a basis for an evaluation of the trade-offs of studying distributed systems in the wild.","PeriodicalId":364233,"journal":{"name":"2012 Seventh International Conference on P2P, Parallel, Grid, Cloud and Internet Computing","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114407281","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The majority of organizations have started to house their own Internal private cloud, rather than relying on third party private clouds for wide range of reasons. Development of an internal private cloud has to overcome a wide range of challenges to match the performance of public cloud solutions. The major challenge is the development of a framework for efficient data management for processing the Big Data for data intensive applications in this private cloud infrastructure. We have proposed a data management framework called CDM server which handles these data management challenges effectively. The CDM server provides a platform with the key requirements of cloud, namely increased scalability, Big Data handling, maximizing cluster utilization and performing capital scheduling of data intensive jobs.","PeriodicalId":364233,"journal":{"name":"2012 Seventh International Conference on P2P, Parallel, Grid, Cloud and Internet Computing","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125932009","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
