The synthesis root involves the immobilization of Au seeds on the aminated probe surface (A520nm= 0.05). The core was formed by the ascorbic acid-mediated reduction of Ag around the Au seed. The shell was formed by a passive deposition of Au over the Ag core. The entire process was monitored in real-time to tune the plasmonic property. The evanescent wave absorbance peak of Ag core was at 470 nm (A470nm = 2) and Au shell at 560 nm (A560nm = 2). A high refractive index (RI) sensitivity of 27.5 ΔAbsorbance/RIU was obtained. The absence of surfactant allows easier functionalization as opposed to the conventional seed-mediated synthesis techniques with C-TAB capping and a stronger adhesion of the plasmonic nanostructures","PeriodicalId":363857,"journal":{"name":"2022 Workshop on Recent Advances in Photonics (WRAP)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125477758","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

CdTe technology is considered as having the best cost to efficiency ratio for the solar cells. A theoretical optical study and active layer thickness optimization has been presented using photonic crystal as a light-trapping structure placed at the back of the active layer. To reduce the cost of solar cell the active layer thickness is required to be kept small (~0.7 microns), but this results in weak absorption of incident spectrum. It is observed that these periodic structures help to enhance the absorption within the cell by enhancing the virtual thickness for high wavelength photons without letting the physical thickness of the active layer to increase. These structures result in improved scattering and coupling of incident photons. The proposed design has achieved the short circuit current of 29.25 mA/cm2 at AM 1.5 is achieved. Here all the parameters are optimized using rigorous coupled-wave analysis.","PeriodicalId":363857,"journal":{"name":"2022 Workshop on Recent Advances in Photonics (WRAP)","volume":"76 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128382349","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

During binding, the real-time absorption peak of localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) was monitored. The immobilization time has been found to be decreased with the higher molar concentration of AuNPs. The density of immobilized nanoparticles was confirmed by SEM micrograph analysis. The concentration-dependent gold nanoparticle immobilization on a functionalized surface has been studied to explore and understand the role of selective LSPR surface for plasmonic-based photonic sensing platform development.","PeriodicalId":363857,"journal":{"name":"2022 Workshop on Recent Advances in Photonics (WRAP)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130423657","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This makes them a suitable candidate to be used in hybrid FSO systems due to the presence of atmospheric turbulence in the channel. With the aid of numerical modelling, the impact of a 2R BMOR cascade on the BER of a hybrid FSO-Fiber system has been investigated and the results have been compared to a continuous mode OR (CMOR) cascade.
