The objective is to identify and map information, relate their applications, and provide a critical analysis. The research was conducted in a global context, on April 2, 2022, with no time horizon limit, in English, using Harzing's Publish or Perish tool and search sources: Scopus®, Web of Science™, and Google Scholar. After the automatic exclusion of duplicate titles, the selection of articles was carried out in five further steps: first filtering, second filtering, third filtering, fourth filtering, and finally the snowball system. Regarding the years of selected publications, a slow but continuous upward trend (growth) can be seen. A diversity of journals can be observed and that most methods integrating optimization and LCSA focus on each product/system or application. Each optimization model proposal has its specific characteristics when combined with LCSA. Overall, there is a greater frequency of articles that propose to evaluate by comparing alternative products/supply chains/production processes, followed by those that use optimization for product development in selecting the best design from a set of alternatives. This research confirms that Operational Research (OR) operates in different segments and can use different techniques to obtain optimal solutions and decision support. The optimization techniques found in this or other literature reviews should be evaluated against an established analytical model by applying them to the same case study.","PeriodicalId":36330,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Management and Sustainability","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87533720","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objective of this paper was to apply the concept of modular coordination associated with BIM in the architectural design process of a residential condominium, to explore the possibilities of project customization. To this end, two work fronts were adopted, the development of the design flexibility and customization process and the development of an application on the BIM platform. As a result, the modular coordination applied to the design and customization, associated with the customization of the BIM tool, proved to be viable, considering the expectations of the company studied about the rationalization of the design and execution processes. The customization of the space by the client added social value to the project from the beginning, and the predefinition of the finishing and construction system added economic and environmental value to the project. It was also verified that the use of modular coordination in the development of the architectural project of a residential condominium generated several benefits, highlighting the flexibility and customization of the project for each residence, the viability of using the BIM tool, and the rationalization of the construction process.","PeriodicalId":36330,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Management and Sustainability","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81484905","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Behind only agriculture, the construction industry represents 13% of the global GDP and its volume is US$ 8 trillion per year. However, construction projects often exceed budget by 80%, and deadlines by 20 months. Between 8% and 10% of productivity gains are related to the insertion of technologies (IPEA, 2022). In the field of civil construction, these digital technologies, such as cloud computing, automation, virtual reality and augmented reality, 3D modeling, communication applications and BIM—Building Information Modeling and even machine learning, have been called Construction 4.0. This article evaluates the feasibility of replacing the use of Terrestrial Laser Scanner (TLS) by the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV). For this, it presents a comparison in the use of equipment for carrying out planimetric surveys in civil construction, using as an example the UAV and the TLS—more modern equipment, in addition to the total station—more conventional equipment—for surveying control points. The results show that in the UAV image processing, the RMSE presented a centimeter accuracy (1.93044 cm) for the model. Even if the accuracy of the models generated by TLS is millimetric, it can be considered that the results obtained here were satisfactory, however it is necessary to apply imaging techniques more efficiently to obtain a more accurate product, in order to arrive at millimeter accuracy. Studies on better positioning of targets and georeferencing of models would also be of great contribution to applications in civil construction.","PeriodicalId":36330,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Management and Sustainability","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83929728","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

After a literature review, a case study is analyzed to identify the main elements of a circular business model that can realize a strategic priority, such as defining production and consumption processes compatible with sustainability, circularity, and resilience. This paper identifies the main elements that constitute the “value proposition,” “value creation and delivery,” and “value captured,” showing the potential benefits in terms of competitiveness and profitability. This good practice may be replicated by other breeding and agricultural companies that want to be sustainable and resilient. The analyzed topic is a key concern given the great quantity of energy and chemical substances used by farms and the challenges posed by current dramatic events, such as the Russia–Ukraine conflict and the COVID-19 pandemic, which have led to less availability of energy and fertilizers and unsustainable prices.","PeriodicalId":36330,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Management and Sustainability","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80513440","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, brings in addiction to risks inherent to mechanical equipment, the height factor, increasing the probability of accidents occurrences. The aim of this work was to identify the risks of accidents and nonconformities with the Brazilian legislation present in the activities using MEWP, in order to propose measures of control and systematization of the actions, to integrate accident prevention in construction sites. For this purpose, a checklist was developed and applied in a large Construction workplace located in the Metropolitan Region of Recife-Brazil. According to the data obtained, a list of control guidelines and safety measures was elaborated, identifying the responsibilities of users and operators in services using MEWP. It was observed that the irregularities found are due factors related to operation, maintenance and use inspection of the equipment and significant occurrence of irregularities such as absence of work area isolation, daily inspections and electrical grounding in motorized MEWP. These facts need for improvements making improvements on training and inspections to ensure the fulfillment of the safety standards and an accident-free work environment.","PeriodicalId":36330,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Management and Sustainability","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79005721","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Another resource that is being encouraged to try and achieve sustainability is Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), which can be facilitated or inhibited by organizational culture (Leandro & Rebelo, 2011; Shanak et al., 2020). Therefore, this study aims to analyze the relationship of organizational culture and CSR practices on environmental performance in companies listed on [B]³ (Brasil, Bolsa, Balcão), São Paulo’s stock exchange. The results indicated that there are no direct relations between organizational culture, environmental performance and the mediating effect; however, at the significance level of 10%, companies with high polluting potential become more harmful to the environment when there is a predominance of market and hierarchical culture.","PeriodicalId":36330,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Management and Sustainability","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73166436","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A questionnaire survey was conducted among 216 private companies, including top management, human resource managers, quality managers, and employees. Reliability and validity tests were performed on the survey forms, followed by a partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) technique to evaluate the hypothesis. The study found evidence that GHRM practices have a positive impact on SP outcomes in Qatar's private companies. This empirical link between GHRM practices and SP contributes to the literature on GHRM. The results further showed that GHRM practices can lead to green empowerment among employees, thereby improving long-term sustainability. The research demonstrates the importance of GHRM practices for private companies to achieve sustainable development goals. The paper highlights the need to incorporate GHRM practices in the private sector to encourage employees to take an active role in promoting environmental sustainability, leading to long-term business success. The study offers practical implications for private companies in Qatar, suggesting that GHRM practices should be implemented to improve SP.","PeriodicalId":36330,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Management and Sustainability","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77815737","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Many industries ground to a halt, and some businesses had to resort to liquidation. In this context, corporate governance was not spared the effects of the pandemic either, as the crisis almost paralyzed the entire business ecosystem. Therefore, this research aims to determine the most affected area of companies’ corporate governance and examine how companies changed their corporate governance structure in response to the COVID-19 crisis to ensure the survival of their business. Thirty-seven publicly listed companies were selected as the samples of the study. Their annual reports were analyzed using a qualitative data analysis technique. The results showed that the majority of companies had to transfer their Annual General Meeting (AGM) or/and Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) to an online platform, while the shareholders were required to vote electronically. Moreover, some companies had to revise their budget, revisit their strategic plan, reduce director fees, send their directors for additional training, or conduct board evaluations online.","PeriodicalId":36330,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Management and Sustainability","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74400290","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
