El estudio se desarrolló de septiembre de 2004 a julio de 2005. Realizamos muestreos bimensuales diurnos y nocturnos mediante búsquedas directas en transectos en vegetación de duna costera (DUN), petenes (PET), selva baja inundable (SBI) y selva mediana subperennifolia (SMS). Registramos un total de 1,401 individuos y 50 especies (14 de anfibios y 36 de reptiles). Los anfibios mostraron notables diferencias de diversidad de especies entre tipos de vegetación, donde SBI y SMS fueron los ambientes más importantes en cuando a la riqueza de especies y abundancia. La riqueza de reptiles fue superior en SBI, pero otros valores de diversidad fueron similares entre los tipos de vegetación. Encontramos diferencias en la estructura y composición de especies, indicando alta complementariedad entre ambientes. Registramos pocos anfibios en riesgo de acuerdo con listas nacionales e internacionales, pero un número alto de reptiles se encuentran amenazados de extinción (24%), entre ellas especies endémicas, y dos son introducidas. Nuestro estudio ofrece un conocimiento más profundo sobre los patrones de diversidad y composición de la herpetofauna y representa el primer trabajo con estos vertebrados en la RBRL desde su decreto como Área Natural Protegida en 1979.","PeriodicalId":36231,"journal":{"name":"Revista Latinoamericana de Herpetologia","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49021506","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Para este estudio, fueron ubicados sitios donde se realizó la puesta y fue monitoreado in situ, se tomaron datos la temperatura, humedad y profundidad de los nidos, así como el tamaño de los huevos, tiempo de eclosión, número de crías al eclosionar y el peso de las crías. Se registró que Chelonia mydas busca sitios con vegetación para anidar; presentó un promedio de puesta de 103 huevos y un número medio de 91.5 crías eclosionadas por nido. Además, se correlacionó el peso de las crías con la temperatura del nido. Los resultados indican que la población de Chelonia mydas de playa Chaparrales, se encuentra en condiciones aceptables para anidar en playa Chaparrales. Es importante evitar alterar las condiciones del hábitat para que continúe siendo un sitio apto para el anidamiento.","PeriodicalId":36231,"journal":{"name":"Revista Latinoamericana de Herpetologia","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45390425","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
