How to prevent metal corrosion has become a major research topic in the scientific community. Although traditional chromate passivation, phosphate conversion and other technologies can solve the corrosion problem of metals, they pollute the environment and pose a threat to human health. It is urgent to develop new green metal surface treatment technology. The unique chemical structure of silane can form a good protective layer on the metal surface and play an anti-corrosion effect, so the metal surface silanization technology is considered to be the most ideal alternative technology to prevent metal corrosion. Silane passivation solution prepared by organosilicone resin and polyurethane resin mixed with a small amount of metal ions has been used in corrosion prevention of many metals and metal alloys. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of metal ions on the anticorrosion properties of a passivation solution, which contains polyurethane resin and amino silicone resin. Zn 2+ , Cu 2+ , and Ni 2+ were separately added to the passivation solution. This solution was coated on a steel surface using a dip-coating method, and the coated samples were then exposed to 3.5 wt% NaCl solutions for several days. Scanning electron microscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, Fourier transform–infrared spectroscopy, ultraviolet, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy techniques were conducted to investigate the morphological properties and corrosion resistance of the coatings. The results showed that the types of metal ions were important parameters that affected the corrosion resistance of the coatings. The passivation solution mixed with Zn 2+ showed better corrosion resistance than that mixed with Cu 2+ and Ni 2+ .","PeriodicalId":36059,"journal":{"name":"Engineered Science","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87455120","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Two extraction parameters were assessed in 14 experimental trials as methanol: water (30% to 80%) and the extraction time (4 to 6 days). The quadratic polynomial equation of multiple regression analysis forecasts the extraction process's optimization. The maximum antioxidant extract (AE) was obtained at methanol (55%) and time (6.41 days) 6.48 g/100g on trial 09. The minimum radical scavenging activity (IC 50 ) values were obtained at methanol (55%) and extraction time of 3.59 days on trial 08. It was found that the AE yields and radical scavenging activity (IC 50 ) of Justicia adhatoda leaves could be optimized at 6.62 g/100g and 1.66 μg/mL at the optimum condition at a time of 6.41 days and solvent concentration of 76.01% with overall desirability 0.96. According to the response optimizer method, the conditions that maximize the yield and minimize the DPPH are within the established restrictions. The well-fitted actual values to predicted values validate the regression model acceptability. Antioxidant properties of Justicia adhatoda leaves using response surface methodology (RSM) confirm this technique's usefulness.","PeriodicalId":36059,"journal":{"name":"Engineered Science","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90868080","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Abstract To guarantee navigation accuracy, the robotic applications utilize landmarks. This paper proposes a novel nonlinear switched system for the fundamental motion planning problem in autonomous mobile robot navigation: the generation of continuous collision-free paths to a goal configuration via numerous landmarks (waypoints) in a cluttered environment. The proposed system leverages the Lyapunov-based control scheme (LbCS) and constructs Lyapunov-like functions for the system’s subsystems. These functions guide a planar point-mass object, representing an autonomous robotic agent, towards its goal by utilizing artificial landmarks. Extracting a set of nonlinear, time-invariant, continuous, and stabilizing switched velocity controllers from these Lyapunov-like functions, the system invokes the controllers based on a switching rule, enabling hierarchical landmark navigation in complex environments. Using the well-known stability criteria by Branicky for switched systems based on multiple Lyapunov functions, the stability of the proposed system is provided. A new method to extract action landmarks from multiple landmarks is also introduced. The con-trol laws are then used to control the motion of a nonholonomic car-like vehicle governed by its kinematic equations. Numerical examples with simulations illustrate the effectiveness of the Lyapunov-based control laws.
