Eight categories of common errors on sentence structures proposed by Ho (2005) were used to analyze thedrafts. The types of common errors in this study were limited to four: Run-on Sentence, Fragmented Sentence, Inappropriate Subordinate Conjunction, and Misordering. The findings showed that both classes made all types of the errors and the most common error made was run-on sentences in the form of comma splice. Fragmented sentences with missing verb and subject were only found on writing 2 drafts while subordinating clauses in fragmented sentences were found on writing 4 drafts. Moreover, errors in relation to subordinating conjunction were more prominent in Writing 4. The strategies used are as follows: translation by a more general word, translation by a more neutral word, translation by cultural translation, and translation by omission. The findings show Mark Zuckerberg’s speech used six out of eleven rhetorical devices in figurative language such as simile, catachresis, synecdoche, personification, allusion, and transferred epithet. The most frequent rhetorical device he used is catachresis. The other frequent rhetorical device he used is the transferred epithet. The least used of rhetorical devices in his speech simile, personification and synecdoche. From the findings, the writer concludes the rhetorical devices as the language method to improve the speaker's ability in delivering speech. Rhetorical devices affect in a positive way to improve the speaker's communication skill. The present research has some limited scope, which was based on a Mark Zuckerberg speech, further research would need to improve the knowledge about function and the use of rhetorical devices in a speech. Although the effects can be severe, it is rarely studied compared to other kinds of childhood abuse and maltreatment. The writers hope to raise awareness about the topic through a short story collection which consists of four stories. Each story shows different types of emotionally neglectful parents, its impacts on the victims as adults, and how they overcome their situation using Dr. Jonice Webb’s empirical insights on CEN as a theoretical framework. The protagonists: Amanda, Brian, Christine, and Daniel, are people in their early twenties who go through their lives trying to deal with the impact of childhood emotional neglect that their parents gave them. The stories show a few types of emotionally neglectful parents: the combination of the narcissistic parent and the achievement/perfection focused parent, the permissive parent, the workaholic parent, and child as parent. The impacts in adulthood materialize in these stories include hiding emotions and lack of self-love, lack of self-discipline, lack of self-esteem, and being overly responsible. As a result, they are dissatisfied with themselves and develop detrimental practices, such as low self-esteem. This creative work aims to explore the struggles of low self-esteem in adolescents. Specifically, it discusses the symptoms, causes, and solutions. It is written in the form of a novella supported by Carl Rogers’ Theory of Personality Development and Paul Gilbert’s Social Mentality Theory. The protagonist’s low self-esteem is shown through her anxiety, dependency on parental regard, and acts of denial which are caused by the high expectations from her family and social environment. She constantly tries to fulfill these expectations which cause her confidence to deteriorate. Eventually, she learns how to overcome her struggles by coming to terms with herself and learning self-forgiveness. Using the Quarter-life Crisis theory, this thesis explores the symptoms, causes, and solutions of QLC. Using psychological realism as its genre, this novel will explore the interior life of the main character, Rei, who experiences QLC. This novel tells the story of Rei, a fresh graduate who is unemployed for six months and is pressured by his father, under the influence of societal structure, to look for a job. Through the story, it can be seen that Rei’s symptoms of QLC are anxiety, identity crisis, and depression. The causes of his QLC are high expectations from his surroundings, sudden responsibility changes, and self-doubt. To escape any emotional discomfort, she turns to non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) as a coping mechanism. This narrative poetry explores the progression of Renee's life from childhood to her struggle with NPD in young adulthood. It highlights how dangerous NPD is when Renee resorts to NSSI to deal with the negative reactions from others. It focuses on the negative behavior which is exhibited by the environment towards individuals with HIV/AIDS, which can lead to adverse psychosocial outcomes. Psychosocial problems encompass the interaction between an individual's psychological well-being, social environment, and daily functioning, influenced by their environment and life events. The study acknowledges that external behavior plays a significant role in shaping internal behavior, and stressful events arising from negative external behavior can affect a person's internal well-being. The research centers on people who experience Psychosocial Problems as a result of rejection from family, friends, and society due to their HIV status. This work uses Social Cognitive theory to analyze the link of the effect of Psychosocial Problems with People Living with HIV/AIDS. As a result, this work highlights the profound impact of negative environmental behavior on individuals living with HIV/AIDS. In this study, the theory of code-mixing types by Muysken (2000) and the status scale theory by Holmes (2013) were used. A qualitative approach was employed in this study. The findings revealed that Putri Tanjung chose a different type of code-mixing when talking to people with different statuses. This can probably happen due to the status of the interlocutors, the situation of the podcast, or the absence of appropriate terms. More studies involving podcasts are recommended. The first theory, Parental Alienation Syndrome, answers how a child can hate one parent because of the insult from the other parent. The child affected by Parental Alienation Syndrome has eight distinct symptoms. Furthermore, this creative thesis wants to explore how the son can forgive his father without the father’s repentance. Employing the Process Model of Forgiveness, the thesis shows the step-by-step journey of forgiveness without any repentance. Both theories will be applied in the creative work, a screenplay. The screenplay is about a victim of Parental Alienation Syndrome haunted by his hatred of his father ever since his parents' separation. The protagonist experiences the three symptoms of Parental Alienation Syndrome.
