The authors' objective is to design and implement a multimedia based computerized teaching aid that are based on self-directed learning (SDL) approach. SDL allows the students to practice on their design and explore in a new way of learning tutorial with various options in learning digital logic course. Years of experience in teaching this subject together with references book have been used as a guideline for designing this model to ensure the effective transfer of knowledge from teacher to student. As a pilot test, they try to guide the students on how to build Karnaugh map (K-map) from a truth table. Students are free to input any combination of output functions into their truth table. They can also obtained the simplified equation by doing K-map SOP minimization or K-map POS minimization. With an averaged current-sharing control (ACSC) strategy, the inverters are in parallel connection and each inverter has a voltage robust controller to achieve system stability and robustness, and a current robust controller to track the averaged inductor current of the inverters to achieve an equal current distribution. Based on the switch connection, the power flow direction and the energy buffer selection, a procedure for developing the proposed MPCs is addressed. Several families of the proposed MPCs can be derived by following the proposed procedure. In order to draw power from the photovoltaic array, the wind turbine or the storage battery, a time-sharing control scheme is accommodated in the proposed MPCs. A prototype MPC is built to verify the feasibility of the proposed development procedure. This inverter is based on a half bridge inverter and controlled by a simple hysteresis current control circuit. The inverter operation is optimized with the output harmonics, switch stress current and switching loss by adjusting the hysteresis band and reference signal of the controller. To overcome the problem and prepare as much needed data as possible for business intelligent information, we propose backward induction in Web mining. Web mining itself is an iterative process where data mining techniques are used back and forth and iteratively. To support backward induction and Web mining characteristics, the scalable Web mining architecture in a data warehouse environment is proposed. The proposed Web mining architecture has three kinds of scalabilities. These are: the scalabilities of operational database, the scalabilities of data model and the scalabilities of data mining engines. The types of eye diseases that can he detected with this system are allergic or infectious conjunctivitis, secondary and senile cataracts, open-angle glaucoma and acute glaucoma, keratitis and \"dry eyes\" syndrome. These are the most frequent eye diseases infecting the Malaysian population. The project was designed and programmed via the object-oriented expert system shell EXSYS. The expert rules were developed based on the symptoms of each type of eye disease, and they were presented using tree-graph forward-chaining with a depth-first search method. In order to enhance user interaction with the system, graphical user interfaces were employed. Previously, several similar systems have been presented, but they were limited to detecting a single disease and also required an expert medical officer to operate them. The proposed controller consists of a linear error amplifier for dynamic feedback control regulation and a shunt amplifier for dimmer control. A dimming strategy is explored for extending the dimming range above 1:50 far higher than the conventional 1:10. The RF signal of the CDMA system is converted into the optical signal, which can be delivered in the optical fiber. We analyze the system performance in terms of CNR (carrier to noise ratio) and SER (symbol error rate) using theoretical modeling as well as numerically calculation of the CDMA system compared with the intensity modulation. It is found that the optical feeder system for the CDMA system has a higher CNR than that of the system with intensity modulation, especially at low power level e.g. CNR more than 80 dB for received optical power of -40 dBm. In order to meet real-time requirements, we use adaptive thresholding and a wavelet-based neural network (NN), which achieves low computational complexity, accuracy of localization, and noise robustness has been considered for vehicle tracking. The proposed system consists of three steps: moving region extraction, vehicle recognition and vehicle tracking. First, moving regions are extracted by performing a frame difference analysis on two consecutive frames using adaptive thresholding. Second, the wavelet-based NN is used for recognizing the vehicles in the extracted moving regions. The wavelet transform is adopted to decompose an image and a particular frequency band is selected for input of the NN for vehicle recognition. Third, vehicles are tracked by using position coordinates and wavelet features difference values for correspondence in recognized vehicle regions.
